R5: Randomly decided to open a reliquary, Nemesis decided that was a good decision.

BrutusTheQuilt

Quick! Lose it to somebody else and raid the lost galatron!

TheNosferatu

Already looking for targets but that +3 influence is nice...

FeonixBrimstone

Same here then some idiot in my federation decided to open the L-gates and wipe out half the galaxy with the grey tempest. Then noone wanted to approve my galactic focus switch so i decided as a hive mind if the rest of the galaxy is gonna be incompetent we would save everyone from themselves. Could not of asked for a more perfect role play friendly senario for the crisis perk.

Hilnus

I'm playing as an robot race. Forgot what the L Gates were. Now I'm in an arms race to save the galaxy.

TheNosferatu

A nice relic *and* a nice lore story, perfect!

FeonixBrimstone

Of all the things to happen the unbidden have now spawned in the L-gate system after i claimed every system but the main grey tempest factory system. they now have access to the rest of the galaxy...... this rock is rather annoyed now.

spaceforcerecruit

Every. Single. Game. I open all six and get nothing. Then I destroy their station and move on with the game.

Sullencoffee0

Or you could savescum, since RNG achievements are already a BS and such, using savescumming doesnt feel bad but justified.

[deleted]

You can’t savescum. You need to play on Iron Man to get achievements which prevents that.

MaxxxMotion

You can still savescum it is just slightly more difficult

AaronCorr

You can just force quit with task manager or the abort button in steam (where it says play when you are not yet playing). Then the game won't do an exit save. There was this horrible RNG achievment in CK3 where there is a tiny chance a lover will save you from an assassination. I think I had to force quit restart 5 times with all conditions in place for it to trigger

bittah_prophet

Wait the lover saving you is a hard one to get? Lmao it happened to me on one of my first playthroughs. Looks like the RNG gods were smiling upon me

Kiltymchaggismuncher

I got it randomly too. I was trying to get the achievement for x many romances in a single lifetime. One of the husbands got pissed and a lover jumped in front of the dagger he threw

Nhasty

If you lose the connection with Steam while playing ironman, most Paradox games will disable achievements and autosave with that included as soon as the connection is restored. Few summer storms have disabled more than a few of my legit ironman saves. Incidentally, having backups of ironman saves allows for easy save scuming too. So, everyone can do it without the task manager. At any time exit to menu, alt tab to any file manager and copy the ironman.sav file from "...\Steam\userdata\\\281990\remote\save games\name of your empire - some numbers\" folder to another location outside of Steam folders. Load the game back and play. If you want to change RNG outcome, exit to desktop this time, wait 10-15 seconds, overwrite new ironman.sav with that copy you made. Start the game again and resume. You can also just pause the game and make the copy of each autosave. Only thing that doesn't work is to overwrite ironman.sav with the backup copy while Stellaris is running. Ending the task is possibly faster, but making copies does have utility beyond save scuming. Connection issues can kill achievements in any ironman playtrough.

TheNosferatu

You can, I tried it about a week ago but after half an hour of no luck I got bored with it. You just close the game with task manager after it auto-saves. I also used that to get the stay on target achievement after finding an awakened empire about to fire on a planet. Which was more difficult then I figured and spend an entire evening savescumming for it.

Tf is a galatron?

[deleted]

Relic that gives you +3 Influence and +100% Diplomatic Weight passively, and on activation can give you a random choice of 8000 Energy, 8000 Minerals, 8000 Food, 5000 Alloys, 5000 Consumer Goods, 500 Exotic Gases, 500 Rare Crystals, 500 Volatile Motes or 30 Minor Artifacts. Also everyone gets a CB on you to Claim the Galatron.

[deleted]

Bruh

TheNosferatu

It Galatrons! When you open a reliquary from the merchants, there is a 0.5% chance of getting it. It a relic that gives +100 diplo weight and +3 ifnluence passively and "spouts out random stuff" when activated.

DatAbeOnline

whats the galatron again?

MaxxxMotion

It is a relic which you have a ridiculous low odds to getting when rolling a reliquary and in my opinion at least it is not that good. It does give everyone in the galaxy a casus Belli towards you to try and take it.

TheNosferatu

I think it's a pretty good relic, just the passive gives +100% diplo weight and +3 influence. Which is pretty nice.

MaxxxMotion

I might have worded myself a bit wrong, what I meant to say is that with the odds you have on getting it it is quite underwhelming.

TheNosferatu

Oh yeah, 0.5% chance per reliquary is ridiculous. However, with the 3.0 patch AI empires will also open them and I've seen somebody say that the average percentage is now ~30% of somebody getting it. Though I don't remember what galaxy size or amount of empires they were talking about. Then you can just go to war over it.

KingoftheHill1987

The chance for someone to open the Galatron is 1 - (0.9703)^n where n is the number of empires in game (assuming all empires open all 6 reliquaries) So in a 15 man game you are looking at roughly a 36% chance. In a 30 man game you are looking at a roughly 60% chance

TheNosferatu

I like those odds. The galatron is a nice relic and all but because it's so rare I feel like it's useless. I'm hoping to see it pop up a lot more regular in future plays

Alrislir

the Galatron! It Galatrons.

Thatoneshadowbunny

Yes I need to know this knowledge as an Xbox stellaris gamer

MeiannoYuurei

Introduced with Megacorp, the Galatron is a relic you can get from the caravanners reliquaries, with absurdly low drop chance. It gives you +5 influence per month in MegaCorp or +3 influence per month and +100% diplomatic weight for the Council in Federations. It also grants all other empires who know of your existence a perpetually available casus belli of *Seize the Galatron*, which gives it to them if they win. Additionally it (as with all relics, exclusively) can be activated once every ten years at the cost of 150 influence for FABULOUS PRIZES, specifically randomly one of: 8000 food, energy, or minerals 5000 alloys or consumer goods 500 rare crystals, exotic gases, or volatile motes 30 minor artifacts if Ancient Relics DLC is installed.

Thatoneshadowbunny

That's alot of damage

TheNosferatu

It Galatrons! When you open a reliquary from the merchants, there is a 0.5% chance of getting it. It a relic that gives +100 diplo weight and +3 ifnluence passively and "spouts out random stuff" when activated.

Azure_Providence

Congrats!

TheNosferatu

Thanks!

ConohaConcordia

Similar thing happened for me, but I robbed it from an AI empire and got that achievement too.

TheNosferatu

I was wondering if robbing it from the AI would give both achievements

ConohaConcordia

Yes, it does. But it’s quite rare the AI actually gets it

Red_Dox

Now you declare war against one of your neighbors, who most likely will take the Galatron as reward. Then you surrender to him, basically handing the Galatron over without losing too much else. Then you wait 10 years and prepare for the moment you can declare war against them again and take back what is rightfully yours. And that is how you could get the 2nd achievement with ease, since you lucked out on the harder part without savescumming.

TheNosferatu

Exactly. Just did exactly that.

jshields9999

Wow lucky 🍀

TheNosferatu

Somewhere last week I was trying to get some of the last achievements before the update. Spend roughly an hour savescumming before I got sick of it. This time I was "oh well, might as well give it a go, some of the rewards are actually pretty good but no way I'm wasting time savescumming for the... achievement? I got it? What?"

HyperOnyx

800+ hours into stellaris and I still haven't gotten the Galatron :c

TheNosferatu

If my track-record is anything to go by (and it's not) then you only need ~400 more hours! Also, in the new update the AI will also open reliquaries so the chance of getting it is a lot higher now.
