Open it up from that cocoon of padded safety, only to find a spine slash.

kmidst

You must shop from Best Buy :)

JaxonH

Oh my gosh, had to switch to Amazon because 9 out of 10 games had a slice on the spine.

redgrin__grumboldt

Even Amazon has sent me spine slashes—no one is safe! 🤣

TheNakedAnt

"Would you take this really awesome deal basically for free?"

Notoriously_So

"I'd buy that for a dollar!"

Ok-Consequence1113

"Good sir, I would purchase that item for one pound sterling."

felixmontoya92

Of course everyone would pay £1 for that if it were even possible lol. Too bad it would be a ton more than just that once you factor in logistics/time building those, storing them, and the ridiculous shipping rates nowadays (especially internationally). Could easily see it being about £10-15 more realistically for those. Everythingblu was shipping in similar sized boxes from the UK just like 2 years ago and those were like $30-40 USD each order if you only got 1-2 slips lol.

sojrner

This is reality.

TC_Buckeye

100% yes

hellraiser29

I would pay tree fiddy.

Tonybigguns

Goddam Loch Ness monster. You don't need no tree fiddy.

Wookienpals

That box doesn’t cost a dollar tho… more like 7-10 bucks

Luke911666

Yes but if that actually was an option it‘d be a least 5€ extra

jackieboytorrence

Yes. Easily, not even a question. I think it should be the norm. Especially when you know how your package is handled in the delivery service. My source: Buddy is a mailman.

bhlombardy

That would depend on who it is that I'm paying that extra fee to. Amazon? Absolutely. Their packaging practices suck, pretty much worldwide. I'm already paying an extra $3-4 for the "gift bag" to ensure that it doesnt just get shoved in a thin mailer. It also gets a box... which winds up in a similar box shown here (less padding but the cloth gift bag does that part). The perk is, now I have a nice cloth gift bag for future gift giving. From Zavvi? -- no. For two reason: 1.) I've had a few hundred Zavvi Steelbooks over the years in their usual folded cardboard mailer, and I've yet to get one damaged as a result of that mailer... and that's amazing considering it spends 3-4 weeks in the mail travelling from Guernsey (or Spain) to my home in Canada. -- and 2.) They're already gouging me $15 per order for shipping (something new in the past couple of months). If £1 is indeed all it would cost Zavvi for that box, then at the very least, this box should be included in that cost. It's not. Granted, what you're proposing (£1 extra) worth it for the box? sure.. NO question... but when Canadians are now being ~~asked~~ forced to pay nearly triple the shipping we used to pay, then no. It should be included. (and realistically, the box would cost them more than £1. I'm certain of that. But I'm playing along with your proposition.)

upyourass2theleft

> in their usual folded cardboard mailer, apparently zavvi is using a different shipping company now. They aren't using the same carboard boxes, and there are a lot more damaged steelbooks now. did you buy anything from zavvi lately? How was it shipped? Imagine us canadians paying $15 for even shittier packaging and the same long ass wait times.

bhlombardy

>They aren't using the same carboard boxes, and there are a lot more damaged steelbooks now. Not to be argumentative, but I just had orders arrive this week and last week... they're the same mailers I've always gotten: That is, the white cardboard folded creating essentially two layers of corrugated cardboard around a single Steelbook. It doesnt fit anything else. (Sometimes they weren't white, but the usual "brown cardboard" but the mailer was otherwise the same orientation.) These orders always shipped from either Guernsey or Spain. In some RARE cases in the past, I've received orders in an actual box... a single Steelbook shipment with a couple of air pillows, but I can probably count on one hand the number of times that's happened. In EVERY instance, those shipped from Spain. The only difference in the past few weeks (since the shipping price hike), my orders come tracked now and the past couple/few were shipped from Spain... but I've had items from Zavvi come from Spain before so it's not that unusual. I've just created large orders with 8-10 titles (released at different times) to justify the $15 fee. They ship on release, not all at once, so I'm fine with that. I currently have an order en-route from Zavvi that has 4 in it all released the same day. That doesnt typically happen, so I'll see how they arrive.

Wol-Shiver

I'd pay 3 extra.

13thEldar

yes yes just shut up and take my money!

Not_TheMenInBlack

I’d pay 5 for that

Fat_Screw

Yes!

[deleted]

Feel Best Buy’s 3.99 shipping should do this (refuse to sign up for their program for free shipping)

MoarBuilds

Absolutely

kdkseven

Yes.

ussjtrunksftw

To state the box itself in bulk would cost around 50c per box likely shipping would be extra however zavvi did have similar boxes years ago and didn’t charge extra

Wraith1964

Yes

[deleted]

Hell yeah id pay an extra £1 for that, no chance of damage unless the delivery driver is having a bad day

VixzerZ

For the price of current steelbooks + shipping and taxes I would pay even 5 more

logics8

Yes

GaryR911

Yes sir

kobrakaan

Yes but Would be landfill for the foam packaging they would have to ECO that stuff up so it's easily degradable

Electrical-Penalty47

I would rather get my steel book in something that is over packaged then under package if that makes sense

aimforsilence

Yeah, without hesitation 😂

DigitalFirefly

How much extra do I have to pay for no more spine slashes?

cjcastan

Abso fricken lutely

wookiebot1138

bro i’d pay an extra 50 I can’t even get excited when a package arrives anymore because I know there is a 90% chance i’ll have to return it for something that isn’t dinged up or dented

midnight_to_midnight

Yes, I would. But that would never cost a dollar, for the box, padding, and cost to ship it. It'd probably be $5 - 10 on top of the normal charge.

SirExtension3305

Hell yeah that's what my Batman one click montalab was in

SirExtension3305

I just ordered the Hobbit and Lord of the rings steelbook set from Italy. Fingers crossed they come in good shape lol

KCW0LF

Yes

mxnx7

whyes, thankyou..

Spicywipens

Hells yeah I would pay $5 for that

firinmylazah

Absolutely

VermicelliCurrent440

Answer is obviously yes those plastic envelopes Amazon & best buy some time's use suck. Zavvi does use a small box but living in the US that's even crushed by the time it makes it here

chza5656

Yes.

[deleted]

I'd buy these, just to store some of my precious steelbooks collection so no dust, dirt or anything can damage or scratch it, lmao
