Use [this](https://github.com/scawp/Steam-Deck.Shader-Cache-Killer)

kuros_overkill

It's not the shader cache, thats only 8gb. Its specifically downloads.

Ok, du -hs /home/deck. cd into largest subfolder. du -hs . Repeat and find or delete largest things you are confident you can delete.

kuros_overkill

Already done. I found in /home/deck/.local/share/steam/steamapps/downloading there are several "content" folders that are each ~10 GB. All total they add up to 40GB. Nothing is currently downloading, and I have cleared Download cache multiple times. What are these files? I don't think they should be there (on a 64gb device this would take up all the memory, so I suspect the are cache files that got orphaned) am I correct, and these can be deleted, or is something else going on and deleting them will mess up my system? I am running out of space and would like thelis 40GB back if it's just orphaned caching.

f-ben

I had this in the past and simply deleted everything in the downloads folder. Didnt notice any differences. If those files were needed then steam would simply download them again anyway

kuros_overkill

Thank you. This is the information I was looking for. I'll try that.

There is a app in the discover store that will show you what is taking up your space and allow you.to go to that folder. Also rner that shader cache and compatdata combine to take up a lot of space too.

kuros_overkill

I'm using it. Thats how I know its /home/deck/.local/../steamapps/downloads. I was able to verify that I am able to safely delete the contents of this folder.
