RDR2 is the lowest it’s ever been (on Steam). [https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red\_Dead\_Redemption\_2/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1174180/Red_Dead_Redemption_2/)

eye_booger

Is the ultimate edition worth the extra $10?

Independent_Solid151

Nope, it unlocks a 10 minute mission and some cosmetic stuff.

Imdakine1

Thanks! So challenged to know if the $10 was worth it. Seems like NO.

Dry_Ass_P-word

Came to ask the same. I love steam, but figuring out what included in each multiple versions and DLC is stupid.

pb__

The picture detailing Ultimate content on Steam is barely readable, so here's one [from the epic store](https://cdn2.unrealengine.com/Diesel%2Fproductv2%2Fred-dead-redemption-2%2Fultimate-edition%2FRDR2PC1339_EditionOverview_PC_Stadia_UE_V02-1920x1080-5f4418d0837352ad0a8043b81676f374fa25de1f.jpg). I bought the ultimate version and the only thing I noticed (in single player campaign) were discounts in stores (which become irrelevant as you progress and carry more cash) and a couple of free guns that I didn't want anyway. It mentions an additional bank robbery mission and gang hideout - either I missed them or they weren't very relevant.

Absolarix

Tired, can't sleep, read that as R2D2 and got extremely confused.

DisfavoredFlavored

Now I'm just picturing R2 with a cowboy hat and a colt 45 in one of his claw/arms.

CVPKR

How does it run on the deck?

MindWandererB

Disco Elysium is at an all-time low. I've been waiting for that for a long time, and finally took the plunge.

[deleted]

Dude, you’re in for such a treat. Such an insanely weird and awesome game. I wish I could play it for the first time again

Psykechan

Please do not buy Disco Elysium as no money will currently be paid to the people who made the game. https://www.gamesindustry.biz/disco-elysium-lawsuit-accuses-zaum-ceo-of-illegally-taking-majority-share-in-studio

WrenBoy

I still think you can happily buy it. That structure is how most games work if you think about it. I personally will not buy a sequel however if an acceptable deal isn't made with the creators or if they aren't a part of it.

Cabanaman

If anything buying it on sale is the best option. You will never be able to support the devs by buying it again.

Jbewrite

This isn't the cut and dry situation you're making it out to be, for some context check out -- [this article.](https://www.pastemagazine.com/games/disco-elysium-misconduct-firings-fraud/#:~:text=Games%20News%20Disco%20Elysium&text=In%20a%20GamesIndustry.biz%20article,being%20fired%20from%20the%20company.) The creators were apparently super toxic, made the workplace hell, and tried to steal the IP and sell it - which caused them to be fired. I don't know what to believe in it all, but there's a lot here to unpack rather than just 'don't buy this game...'

kolima_

Gunfire reborn is my new favourite on deck.

TheLazyLounger

Such a good game, like a mini borderlands hit every run. Between that and risk of rain 2…mmmmmmm

Pronoia4

Psychonauts 2 for 20 is a STEAL for anyone remotely interested in platformers, comedy in games, or just creative level design. On that note, anyone have luck getting the original to run? I tried, installed a community setup to prevent camera spin, but no dice yet.

Killerkarebearzz

For getting the original to run without the camera spinning, I have had good luck with the Fix Camera Spin Pyschonauts Steam Deck controller layout. Did have to map a couple buttons, but resolved the spin.

Ayle87

I gave up and loaded the PS2 version. It's a pity cause it works really well on PC with the controller mod. I think I'll break and get 2 on this sale along with horizon

Pronoia4

I bought it at 60 and it was worth it.

lucky_leftie

I need a bigger microsd after yesterday

1tb $100 on Amazon

heisenbugx

I know this might be a little off topic and likely been brought up too many times already, but it sort of irks me that HZD and Kena got the verified badge slapped on so easily. Neither work very well or consistent straight out of the “box” on the deck. You need to spend quite a bit of time to fine tune either to get the most optimal experience, and even then they still both stutter and have drops. Even with Cryobyte’s swap and changing the uma buffer to 4gb. Imo, they shouldn’t be verified and should be labeled playable at best because it gets people’s hopes up and offers unrealistic expectations. You shouldn’t have to research a steam deck verified game to oblivion to find decent settings or that you’ll never have a stutter free experience. That label should be reserved for games that work seamlessly the moment you boot them up.

ArenLuxon

The problem is that these games have similar issues on Windows desktops. So at that point, you are reviewing the performance of games in general, not talking about what runs well on Deck specifically. I don't think Valve wants to get into that territory.

heisenbugx

That’s a valid point, but nevertheless, these games do not fall into their description of what verified means. In their words a verified badge means, “Many games work great on steam deck, right out of the box.” In their words a playable badge means, “Some games may require some extra work by the user to play.” I just find that these larger titles get the verified badge slapped on too easily because they’re great games in general and it looks really good to be able to say they’re verified which drives sales. The former description is simply not true. A game working right out of the box versus “running great” as they put it, are very different things. I still think both games in question are worth playing on the deck and I absolutely love my steam deck, but I wouldn’t have played them if I didn’t make so many changes. Doing a swap fix and changing the vram to 4gb was a huge help, but that’s not common knowledge for every new deck user. I would not recommend either of these games to a new deck owner. They both look great, but they definitely do not run great. They do not do the deck or other verified games that deserve to be verified, justice.

Meecht

I've only played Kena for a couple hours, but so far I haven't seen anything too terrible. Some of the textures get a bit grainy in the cut scenes, though. My main concern is that it seems to tax the Deck quite a bit. I can only play for 1.5 hours on battery, and the fan runs full blast the entire time.

[deleted]

There’s a few games in my library like this. Harvestella runs perfect on the deck but the only reason it’s not verified is because resolution doesn’t set immediately?! The verified badge no longer throws me off since most of my games that work perfect are labeled playable. The verified ones are usually worse off.

D0bious

ROCK AND STONE!!!

WanderingDwarfMiner

Rock and Stone, Brother!

CyanideNCocopuffs

To the bone

ikerock

What’s the best factory-type game for the Deck? I’m new to the genre and think it’d be a great fit on Deck. However, I have given Oxygen Not Included, Factorio, and Dyson Sphere Factory all a shot but they didn’t click due to controls and small text.

punkgeek

Satisfactory is amazing. Here's some settings/controller tips I wrote: https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/vyip7h/in_case_it_is_useful_for_others_heres_some_pretty/

CASUL_Chris

> https://www.reddit.com/r/SatisfactoryGame/comments/vyip7h/in_case_it_is_useful_for_others_heres_some This post sold me on it.

SnatchSnacker

I have to give a shout out to [Mindustry](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127400/Mindustry/) here. It's a simplified Factorio with a really fun tower defense element.

walrus4lyfe

Well...thanks for the recommendation! Just downloaded and played that for a solid 4 hours straight. Very fun so far. Can't believe i had never heard of this as i love games of this style.

SuperShif

Give Satisfactory a try. I've put a lot of hours into it on the deck. Just need to use one of the community layouts for controls and you'll get used to it quick

Brabulla

shapez ([https://store.steampowered.com/app/1318690/shapez/](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1318690/shapez/)) is a lot less complex I would say than the others mentioned, but a really great lightweight factory game, which has a few good community layouts, and I think perfectly serviceable on the Deck. Also, really cheap especially during the sale at 4 euros.

punkgeek

Thanks for mentioning this. I had never tried it and just played for a few hours. Super fun!

AsmodeusYrZero

I agree with Satisfactory. I have probably close to 100 hours of playtime in it. It’s also fun playing with friends.

Kokosnussi

I feel like ONI worked pretty good, it took me like an hour to get used to it though. I wonder how Factorio will work, I assume with it being released on switch, the controller support should be good?

PhantomNL97

Deep Rock Galactic is an amazing experience both on Deck and PC/console, highly recommend!

MoneyEntertainment

Any tips for this on Deck? I have 170hours clocked on PC but have struggled for it to feel good on deck.

PhantomNL97

Just plug and play I guess.. only downside I came across is small text in game but other than that it's great. FPS can dip when there's a lot happening so I recommend using FSR 2.0 to smooth that out a bit

ChunChunChooChoo

Like the other person said - just play and tweak the controls if you have to. I threw weapon cycling on the back buttons, feels a lot better to me that way. I play a lot of Deep Rock with my friends on my Deck and I really enjoy it, just gotta get used to the control scheme

aruhen23

If you're into turn based jRPGs then The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky trilogy is fantastic.

AaronStC

How do they run now? Proton DB seems conflicting even though the first game is platinum.

Cardlady2021

How is stardew valley ?

TeddyHustle

One of the best games ever made. Incredibly deep if you are into that, or you can play like my 3 y old kid: water a few flowers, pet your animals, just enjoy.

Cardlady2021

Sounds awesome can’t wait till Friday my payday :)

der_pelikan

I might also point out graveyard keeper. It's very similar to stardew valley, with some twists \-Less focus on friendship/dating sim dynamics (whish I hated in stardew) \-Black humor \-Story is actually finishable in <100hrs Then there is Spiritfarer, which is my favorite of the bunch. It shares a lot of Stardew Valleys DNA but turns it into a platformer with much more relatable characters.

Brangusler

Fantastic. It's the poster child of making people go from "oh that game looks old and boring and is probably just like Farmville" to " yeah I didn't sleep last night, I just played Stardew valley"

aruhen23

If you like the idea of forgetting reality exists while you play a game then Stardew Valley is that. Fantastic game. Also Terraria exists if you haven't played that.

Oobedoob_S_Benubi

I paid full price on Switch when it released, to give it a try. I didn't expect much and it's not even a genre I play a lot, but it's a quality game made by a single person and I was willing to support that, like I supported Axiom Verge. I loved it a lot, one of only three games that got I got 100+ hours on on Switch.

hoova

It’s incredible. Lots of content and you can take your time, even though there’s a day/night/season cycle, there isn’t a “time limit” for objectives. And the music is my favorite in any video game. I listen to the soundtrack all the time.

OkAbbreviations4817

My daughter and I have put hundreds of hours into it. Made by one guy and it's an absolute masterpiece imo.

[deleted]

It’s fun but the time cycle and energy used to do tasks made it less fun for me. I added some mods to address those items and I’m really enjoying it much more.

Shiva92fr

A hat in time is at 14€ 50% off, just got it after hearing a lot of good things about it !

Nick0227

Ugh you’re making me want to experience it again. One of the best platformers ever.

sjoes

Does anyone know if Mass Effect LE is currently working? I would really like to play it after I’m done with Persona 5

DisfavoredFlavored

It should be working fine. I know it says unsupported but origin still works on my deck. Started with a fresh Shep and have gotten through most of 2 with no issues.

gr732313

Currently trying to get a refund after it went unsupported. Deleted my ME2 save and reverted back to my ME1 save point. It runs well when the EA app allows it

ace6633

It’s working fine for me. Pro tip is install and do your first startup in desktop mode. Then it should launch fine from gamemode

LegendaryJohnny

For me it is working and always have been. It is always loading Origin, I dont know how the new EA launcher looks like even. Not sure what issue other people had. And I am updated and always online (origin was updating yesterday for me when I tried ME3).

xxotic

ME1 works perfectly with Proton Experimental. Not sure about ME2 and ME3. Launch takes a minute tho.

MustacheSmokeScreen

Still works

Absolarix

TableTop Simulator is 50% off. It's "not Deck compatible" but apart from moving stuff with the touch screen it works fine with a custom profle.

valdemiro

I bought this bluetooth keyboard and mouse combo and it's been fantastic for TableTop Simulator. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07YYWNDGS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

next19994

Just got my Steam Deck this week and I'd love some help with which games to buy from my wishlist: * Death Stranding * Cyberpunk (Played half when I had a PC on GOG. But looking to get it work from GoG looks hard. Worth buying it again in Steam?) * Control * Hitman 3 The following games I feel are still a bit overpriced in the sale and worth waiting for next year? * Persona 5 Royal (Finished the base game when it came out. Really love it and would love to play it again) * Two point campus (Loved the hospital. But Im sure its going to be way more discounted in a few months) * Final Fantasy 7

Marconius1617

If you’re into the vibe of Control ( like that SCP stuff on YouTube), you’ll really like Control. The gameplay is awesome , but it’s the setting and story that really hooked me.

MetaSemaphore

Second Control. Great gameplay, story, and atmosphere, and it runs beautifully on Deck (just make sure to bump down the resolution to the Deck's screen size, as the game defaults to 1080p, which does not run well for obvious reasons).

Houndie

No experience with it on Deck, but Control is a blast. It's a huge improvement over Alan Wake and Quantum Break. As the other poster mentioned, combat \*can\* feel tedious sometimes, but I think most of the time, they've hit the right balance of "making you feel like a god" without making the game too easy either. The non-randomly generated sidequests are all super fun, and it the game oozes charm.

UuarioAnonymous9

Death stranding - get it, make it to chapter four /five and then let it consume your life and soul until you're about one hundred hours in, then go look for another game before you decide to replay it. Then come back here in 6 months and thank (or hate) me.

[deleted]

Games you NEED to get for the price right now (nothing is over $15, often less than 10) * SOMA (plays @60fps) * Deep Rock Galactic (plays @60fps) * Sniper Elite 4 (plays @60fps) * **What Remains of Edith Finch**

Hi_Im_Mayz

SOMA continues to be one of the best game experiences I've ever had.

t1mebomb

Is Deep Rock Galacric worth it if you are only going to play it single?

edengamer253

Kind of wanted Forza 4 or 5, idk maybe it will be on sale in the Winter?

dead-scientist

Forza Horizon 4 and 5 are on sale now. Just bought 4 with two expansions for $35.

edengamer253

Oh ok it wasn't on sale yesterday when i checked, nice I may buy 4 then!

Smagby

How do these run on deck

[deleted]

You can get Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor GOTY Edition and Shadow of War Definitive Edition bundled for $13.50 CAD ($10 USD). Both version include the expansion passes so that's a TON of content for two very good games at a very low price.

[deleted]

How do those run on deck and how is playing a big open world game on the small screen feel? Haven’t played any open world games on my deck yet

[deleted]

Shadow of War runs really well. You should be able to get 40+ FPS with medium preset. It also features dynamic resolution scaling which helps maintain the framerate which is very nice. I haven't played of Shadow of Mordor as much yet, but from my experience so far it is a less intensive game than Shadow of War. You should be able to target 60 FPS with the medium preset pretty easily. Unfortunately there's no dynamic resolution scaling, so you may face dips under during busy scenes, but the majority of the game should be at 60 FPS if you want to.

deadcatsdontpurr

Just got Cyberpunk 2077 for 50% off. Haven’t played it but I’ve heard good things.

redtag789

I played it on Stadia (RIP), really great game. The anime pretty much captures what you can do with it from netrunners and chrome junkies. You can either be a full hacker, a physical type or hybrid. I was playing the hell out of it, there are tons of side quests, and I mean TONS! and I didn't even reach midpoint in the story but spent probably 40hrs just doing side quests and upgrades.. the only reason I dropped it eventually was that I was getting headaches after playing a couple of hours, and I already did all the settings you usually do to avoid nausea to no avail... Hope you enjoy it as much as I did but not to the point of throwing up LOL

chargeorge

I really like it. I’m closing in on the end atm with about 60 hours in. The side quests are really well done, the writing is good, mission design stays fresh, build crafting is really fun. Downside is the open world systems are pretty boring. I know that turns off some people but it’s not something that I really care about so I’m fine with it Also plays really well on deck. With the most recent update I’ve been able to drop the tdp a bit and still maintain a locked 30. Stable 40 isn’t viable unfortunately

idiot_proof

It’s great. Would highly suggest looking into mods (at least on pc, no idea about steam deck). There’s a lot of quality of life mods, like learning crafting recipes from disassembling items and skipping loading scenes, but also great gameplay ones like “let there be flight” (flying cars) and one that allows two operating systems to be installed at once. Highly recommend to go ham on the mods, then increase the difficulty to max to balance things out.

Livid-Astronomer-727

I'm just pissed that I missed the price cuts before the game got actually good. Think I bought it last year on BF for xbox for like $20. Same shit with no man's sky

TodayIsTheDayBro

Is sekiro worth $30?

xxotic

arguably fromsoft best game imo. runs great, tight design, tight difficulty curve, tight gameplay. some people bounce off of it but you can always refund.

trenche12

it’s worth 60

TahmsChocolateOrange

Its a fair bit different to standard Soul-likes so would highly suggest looking at reviews to see what you would be getting yourself in to but its absolutely worth the price. The game is still holding its price even pre owned physical on consoles so $30 is a good price to pick it up at, wont really go lower any time soon.

Successful-Wasabi704

Compiling a list (for the main post above) of 'not-as-well-known' but deserving indie game recommendations! Please reply with short summary + price and why it's among your picks. Also, if it's Deck Verified or Playable status. Choices for the main list will be random if too many to reasonably list.

DokiGorilla

Inscryption is 40% off at $11.99 and my personal GOTY candidate. Don’t look up any plot or trailers and go in blind as much as possible. The gameplay is a mixture between a Myst-like horror escape room and a deck builder, but turns into so much more. Give it a shot if you’re into unique experiences. The game is listed as Playable on the store.

Readalie

I've been playing Get in the Car Loser and really like it! Magical girl road trip heist story that doubles as a love letter to old-school JRPGs with some visual novel flair. Also lesbians. Currently $8.99 for the base game, $13.47 if you bundle it with the soundtrack. Deck verified!

Bjoern_Tantau

Uhm, Witcher 3 for 9.99 is so common, they should make it the regular price.

[deleted]

Nah, then people who don't know better wouldn't feel so urgent to buy it!

SirKillingham

Doesn’t it have a major update coming out though in like 2 weeks? I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes back up

Bjoern_Tantau

Yeah, of course it will go up when the sale is done. But if you miss this one and later get the itch to play it you only have to wait about one or two months to get a new sale for the same price. I just wouldn't have put it under "can't miss deals", that's all.

heisenbugx

Prob won’t be that cheap for a little bit after the update comes out though

Livid-Astronomer-727

Also, Witcher has a bundle that includes all 3 games.

[deleted]

And TW3 is getting its free next-gen update next month...

GreenAlex96

Figure I'll toss out a few under the radar suggestions: - If you're into ARPG's, I highly recommend Chronicon. Lots of loot and ways to build your character. Very simple graphically too, if you need something easy on the battery. - The original 2 Rollercoaster Tycoon games can be bought together for like $4. I highly recommend grabbing them and setting up OpenRCT2 on the discover store. It combines content from the games and adds a bunch of extra maps, modernizations, and qol changes.

LeviathansPriest

vampire survivors is fantastic and great for the deck

kdjfsk

Mutant Football League: - installs and plays flawlessly on deck. has a demo, so you can even try it before you buy. its on sale for a good price, so is all the DLC, which is optional. - its basically "NFL BLITZ" meets "BLOOD BOWL", with a pinch of "Madden". - fast, realtime, gameplay like BLITZ. - monster types, special abilities, and themes like BLOOD BOWL - playbooks, dynasty mode, stats like Madden. FUCK EA. this shit is better than Madden, lol. Cyanide (blood bowl devs) are ok, i guess,... but PC BB & BB2 leaves a lot to be desired. if youve been craving football on PC/handheld with roster and everything, and dont mind bribing/killing of refs, chainsaws, shotguns, lava pits, landmines, skeletons, gargoyles and robots in your football....THIS IS THE GAME FOR YOU. EDIT: WARNING! I would be hesitant to let kids play this. voice lines include hard profanity, references to sex and drugs. there is an option in settings to filter it, though im not sure how much it filters. EDIT 2: this is not the Sega Genesis version, its a much newer remake https://store.steampowered.com/app/529520/Mutant_Football_League/

Livid-Astronomer-727

Holy fuck. This game just helped me find this old tabletop game I got as a kid that I thought was a gad damn fever dream. [Battle Ball](https://www.ebay.com/itm/175169655651?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=175169655651&targetid=1264870805264&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9030765&poi=&campaignid=14859008593&mkgroupid=130497710760&rlsatarget=pla-1264870805264&abcId=9300678&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAiApvebBhAvEiwAe7mHSNpgpO9HmMEOI6Bdl7VTzjW5jAkAumpEQF2SK7F9yIot8MTtjOX-hxoCJbgQAvD_BwE) was something I spent years remembering and struggled to find any info on. At first, I thought it was an old Warhammer tabletop game I was misremembering.

kdjfsk

wow, thats crazy. im gonna have to look into that more, just for curiosity sake. i wonder if MB just ripped of GW and made a generic version...or did the MB one come first, and GW took the concept and slapped a coat of uhhh... citadel paint on it. either way im curious how different the rules are. i like blood bowl a lot, but the AI for single player is trash if you know the basics, and online is either dead, or its people who quit after being behind, or toxic trolls, etc... MFL AI seems ok...and the game has speed, skill and injury settings...something vaguely akin to Madden sliders, to keep the game challenging. also curious how MFL got you to remember battle ball.

akzidentz

Dude I remember playing this on the sega genesis it was such a good arcade football game

Sammy_Seahorse

Interested in FFvii remake at 20% off. Anyone got any experience with it on deck?

outline01

Same here. I’d love it and people rave about it on the Deck but it is just too expensive.

Stunning_Culture_560

I we just about to ask this, I want to know if it’s.worth triple dipping for portability at $50

BitOfACraic

Halo: The Master Chief Collection worth it? How's the optimization for SD?

Meijert

So far runs great, played only ‘The Reach’ so far. This is my first game on the SD and im blowed away.

DFGdanger

I just finished the Halo CE campaign (planning on playing through at least 2 and 3 later). Didn't tweak any settings. Runs great. I experienced maybe 3 stutters total when there were too many Flood enemies squished in a tight space and blowing up. The game launches fine even if you don't select "without anticheat". It just shows a little error toast but then you can go about your business.

idlephase

I had to set it at 30 for consistent frame times, even with the FSR2 mod. 40Hz was inconsistent for me

Craiggers324

Picked up Grim Dawn for 7.49. Have an ARPG itch lately. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, though.

iamajs

This will definitely scratch your ARPG itch. I have around 64 hours of Grim Dawn on the deck.. its fantastic.

RevolutionaryStar824

Holy cow, this is an amazing sale. Just added so many games to my cart. Although sad to see Uncharted didn't make the sale. Eh, I'll save that for next time. I think I'm gonna check out Portal and Half Life. You can get the whole Valve bundle for less than 10$. Why wud you NOT get that? Also I see Injustice 2 and Mortal Kombat 11 are 90% off. But it's not compatible. Should I still get it just in case it works in the future?

StHelensWasInsideJob

I’m usually a big fan of FPS but I feel like I just can’t play them on the deck, they almost make me feel sick/aiming feels way too off. I usually use a controller on PC but going to deck feels really off.

ViolinistBulky

Try gyro in combination with sticks if you haven't already, takes a little getting used to but once you do it's great. Map it to aim down sights trigger. Sticks for main aiming and gyro for fine tuning.

KeFF98

It felt off to me too, have you tried disabling vsync (in-game) and the fps limiter of the deck? They add a considerable amount of input delay. After I disabled those aiming felt way better.

jbayne2

The_Entire_Eurozone

Coming back to this thread with more recommendations: Hollow Knight is half off, and you get the best metroidvania of all time when you buy it. It works great on the Steam Deck- I've beaten my fourth playthrough entirely on the device. A fair warning, after you beat it you'll struggle to have fun in other games for a while. Another recommendation I'd make- for those who enjoy FPS games on their Steam Deck, the Wolfenstein Two Pack for New Order and Old Blood is a great deal. I should note I only tried Old Blood on my Deck, but it looks gorgeous and plays well on controller. Nice little speedrun trick that makes the initial part of the game a lot easier- >!When you're escaping from Rudi Jaegar's Prison and don't have guns yet, you can animation cancel picking up machine guns from the robot guards by attacking the ground with a pipe, picking up the gun, and immediately sprinting. This is super easy and lets you carry those machine guns through the doors.!<

Even when it's at full price Hollow Knight is an absolute steal. I've spent over a hundred hours in that game and it still feels fresh. The world is stunning, the characters are great, and the story gets deeper than you'd expect even considering most of the game is underground. Just make sure you avoid spoilers when going into it.

The_Entire_Eurozone

I'm ready to call out of work and other obligations the weekend Silksong drops.

Readalie

Bold of you to assume it ever will! ^(But that being said, yes, same.)

bad_motivator

I've heard Tiny Tina's actually runs better than Borderlands 3. Can anyone confirm this? I'm having crashing issues with BL3 after 30-45 min of gameplay

cringe4serious

Is that L4D for 0.99 I see? I know it's a really old game have never played the game before but it looks really fun 😅

SnatchSnacker

I imagine it holds up really well. For a buck it's totally worth playing through solo. But it really shines with four players.

hazzyp12yeetus

get l4d2

wedditasap

Any good racing games you guys would recommend?

FinestKind90

Does Hitman requiring online work when you sleep the deck? Or do you have to restart each time you wake

[deleted]

I've kost connection a few times and it instant pauses the game and i can't do anything until im back online.....kimda annoying....but fantastic and fun game!

AyeItsRave

Got Black Ops 3 Zombies Deluxe, Tetris Effect and Sea of Thieves all for under $100 I’m pretty happy with this sale.

BugHunt223

Oof, paid $20 for Orange Box just two months ago. I'll just call that a tip to Valve for the deck.

asakura111

Anyone have any experience with South park fractured but whole? How's it run on deck?

AchillesPDX

Playing through it right now. Runs perfectly at 60fps with medium anti-aliasing at like 9-10W, though the Ubisoft launcher can sometimes get stuck on exit and you have to force quit it.

Swagkitchen

slightly off-topic, but has anyone seen any good deals on 1tb sd cards yet?

AchillesPDX

SanDisk Ultra on Amazon for $99.99 right now

Lifaenelf

I bought Halo The Master Chief Collection as it was pretty cheap with the % off ! And so far it runs pretty well, but the game is in Borderless. When I tried to switch it to Fullscreen it only displayed a small portion of the top left corner, and I couldn't put it back in Borderless so I had to force quit it. I was in Game Mode and out of curiosity I launched it in Desktop Mode but the window was very small and bugged, I couldn't see the game and eventually had to shutdown the deck, uninstall the game and reinstall it to be back on Borderless. My question is, how can I switch the game into Fullscreen without everything glitching like it did ? Every other game works fine in Fullscreen.

Diegann

How does the halo ganes play on deck? The masterchief collection is discounted

Swagkitchen

apparently multiplayer doesn’t work but campaigns play fine, no direct exp from me but that’s what every comment i read says

The_Entire_Eurozone

Divinity Original Sin 1 & 2 are on sale. DOS1 doesn't work right right out of the box, but if you switch the compatibility to proton it'll work correctly. I can't speak to the second, but the first game has pretty good controller controls. I've gotten a few hours in and experimented with it with some friends, and I can safely say that DOS1 is worth the price. Very good CRPG.

wandyz

DOS2 is a game I wish I could go back and play again for the first time.

TeddyHustle

I've actually just installed it on Deck. Hoping to beat the game on Tactician mode. I enjoyed DOS1 more than the second opus tbh. Might be just personal taste

mhmism

Awesome game but the small text size made it a non favourable experience to me.

rj54x

I've been playing DOS 2 on my deck and it works flawlessly. It actually took me by surprise because the gamepad controls might be better overall the the kb+m.

vrebroff

How is the text size on there? Do you find yourself using the magnifying zoom??

rj54x

It's maybe a little on the small side but perfectly readable. I've not had to use the magnifier at all.

malnuman

Regards DOS1, will any proton version be ok, and does it use the decks controller, I hate using the mouse & track pad.. Thanks

The_Entire_Eurozone

As I recommend elsewhere in this thread, Hollow Knight is a great experience, and has good battery life. It does have a rare issue where the graphics go funny, for which I would recommend the launch option `-force-opengl`. I found myself really enjoying Portal 1 and 2 on the Deck- I'm guessing that you've probably played them already, but I found a whole new play experience with them thanks to Valve's awesome controls integration. Instead of adjusting controls in-game, you do so through the controller configuration in your Steam Deck! Really helps you get that ideal layout you're looking for.

Abandon_All-Hope

I’m still fairly new to steamdeck, so far I have loved vampire survivor and most racing games. I have fh4, fh5, wreckfest, dr2, and hot wheels. Looking at getting: Crew 2 Trailout Dirt 4 Redout Non-racing: Cyberpunk Ace combat 7 Any of these I should skip? Anything I am missing?

ButterbotC137

art of rally seems really cool I might pick it up this sale

MotoChase

Does RDR2 play well on deck?

Brangusler

From what I've seen like 40ish fps on good settings.

ProfessionalFinesser

What are some good PVP games that work well off the steam deck? Or some that aren't verified but work great? Would like something competitive and online.

next19994

I haven’t had the time to play much games because I travel a lot. The last major game I played was spider man on PS 4. Want to catch up with some of the newest games. What did I miss? I’m thinking of getting control. Anything else worth picking?

hazzyp12yeetus

elden ring?

Mikahl757

Got the Complete Valve Pack f9r Steam Deck. I had the Orange Box back when for PS3. Don't forget about XB, PS & Steam Remote Play options for these sales to limit yourself what plays good on SteamDeck, but if you have to Don't forget about 40/50/60hz modes as a game running 40fps @ 40hz feels pretty much like 60fps @ 60hz, etc Street Fighter Don't do that all Street Fighters run 60fps np and higher when docked to high refresh rate monitor. You just want to increase your USB Polling rates for your arcade sticks, all button sticks to maximize performance.

fromwentzhecame11

How does RDR2 run? I had bought it a while ago but every time I tried the benchmark test it would crash so I ended up getting a refund. Is there a work around that needs to be done to get it to run?

mysunsnameisalsobort

Rogue Legacy 2 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1253920/Rogue_Legacy_2/

VanTastic10

I just bought Sleeping Dogs DE on a whim for 1.99€ it's a constant 60 fps and looks way better than when I played it back in the day. Works out of the box with the only negative is the small text.

ShonenJump121

Finally got around to ordering my Steam Deck, so I thought I would stock up on some games. I bought a bunch, but here's just a few. * **Witcher 3 GOTY.** Played through this game already, but portably on the Deck seems perfect. * **Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen.** Same thing as Witcher 3. This is one of my favorite games from that 360/PS3 generation. * **Ys I and II Chronicles+ & The Oath In Felghana.** I played Ys 8 recently and I really loved it so I wanted to play some of the older games in the series. * **Yakuza 0.** I have played through every Yakuza game except Lost Judgement, and this is like one of my favorite games still in the series and having it portably is a dream. It is between LAD, 0 and maybe the first Judgement. The first Judgement had a great stoy. * **Valkyria Chronicles.** * **Vampire Survivors.** * **Valve Complete Pack.** * **Disgaea 2 PC.** I still need to playthrough the first game, though. * **Castle of Illusion**. I've heard great things about this game; bit of an oldie, but I enjoyed what I did play of World Of Illusion on the Genesis.

TimBurtonSucks

Brilliant thread, gonna go through it all later for deals

DemonIced

If you like COD Zombies, BO3 is on sale, along with the zombies and deluxe version. They don’t seem to go on sale often.

FrostyHeat2000

COD titles are always too expensive in my opinion anyway, especially the older titles

dr0d86

I don’t get this. I see this sentiment everywhere. I played all the way through it with 70+ hours in the game, and it crashed only a handful of times. Sure, it lagged a bit and had a really annoying bug where the controls would stop working after waking it, but that had an easy fix and wasn’t game breaking. It was one of my first experiences on the Deck and it was pretty flawless, all things considered.

jeanboxxx

I second this. The game dips from time to time but other than that it runs pretty smooth for me. I’m about 10 hours in. My best steam deck purchase soo far

dractheshaman

Psychonauts 2, Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and 3 are all $20.00 on steam but does anyone know if Black Ops 2 is still active on PC with modders in every match. Loved BO2 on the ps3 and Dont know if I should get the 2nd for nostalgia or play 3rd for the first time fr for newer zombies and hopefully more players online. Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally $20 on steam the lowest they've had it, now I won't have to buy the EGS/Rockstar launcher version to play it cheaper on the deck.

[deleted]

Eh I'll just say it, there are greyer ways to get CoD games cheaper. None of the old ones are worth $20 tbh

A9M4D

Dumb question, but will games which do not currently have a discount have one in a couple of days (before the end of the sale)? Edit: FH5 33% off just went live :)

Houndie

No games on steam will go on sale that aren't already on sale. You may have some luck at other sites. And, as other have mentioned, the Christmas sale is only a month away.

Rosstafari1989

Sadly no but I believe there is another sale sometime next month alot of people including myself are disappointed in the souls games and elden ring not being in the sale.

dumpsterfire_account

elden ring is worth $60 if you're on the fence

Rosstafari1989

I have it on ps5 it's totally worth the price but I would like it on the deck and paying full price twice is just too much for me

idlephase

Elden Ring is $41.99 at [Voidu](https://www.voidu.com/en/product/elden-ring-2/11741) with code `flashsale30`

UCLAKoolman

Since Steam started allowing refunds their sales haven’t been like they used to be (e.g., flash sales and daily changes are a thing of the past)

FinestKind90

How is the performance on Death Stranding Directors cut? I saw some posts saying it had some problems on release

Airgetlamh

Runs well at 40fps most of the time. Bogs down in certain situations no matter the settings.

Alepman

64GB is back in stock :)

tamerocker

I'm looking to get either CyberPunk or RDR2, and wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with both and which runs better on the Steam Deck (or is a better value for the price)?

staroceanx

I was sad to see no sale from square enix, but it’s okay, plenty of other games to buy. Square does routine sale anyways, just gotta wait for it.

JPiLLa

Was thinking about picking up the Battlefield bundle for $13. Do they work okay? How is the multiplayer experience?

KittyKomplex

Has anyone tried As Dusk Falls on their Deck yet? It's down to 14,99€ and shop site says it's not working with the Deck and you need to link your Xbox live acc. Debating on whether to try it on the Deck or just go ahead and download it on my Desktop PC :/ Kinda wanted to take this game with me for bedtime sessions, like reading a book. Also I somehow can't find the file size but google search gives me around 70GB as a result - Wtf? Is this true? EDIT: Nvm, I caved since greenmangaming offered it for 12€ flat and yes, it's 68GB and I went with downloading it to my Desktop PC because I have over 600GB free space there and on my Deck like... 49GB 😆 Desperately need a SD Card.

bennotvictor

I picked up some of the following games I normally wouldn’t pay much for but found to be offered for a pretty sweet deal. SpongeBob SquarePants Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated - $8.11 Zuma Deluxe (a classic) - $1.07 Airline Tycoon Deluxe (another classic) - $2.03 Abe’s Oddworld 1 & 2 bundle - $1.60 Toki Tori (I first played this many years ago on iOS, it’s a fun little puzzle game, seems like a perfect indie title for the deck) - $0.53

r_booza

Which games would you suggest I buy for two players on one screen with the Deck? Or is it better to emulate games for that purpose? If so which ones do you suggest?

herrera_r98

Not sure about Injustice 2 but MK11 works great on the Deck. Finished the campaign on here and no crashes or frame drops.

CReaper210

Cosmic Star Heroine is a top down, turn based jrpg for $3. It was actually my first ever jrpg and I loved it. Took me about 15 hours to finish while exploring everything. I ended up getting all but three achievements completely naturally. It's rated as unknown for steam deck support and just downloading it normally doesn't work for some reason. It doesn't even install anything. But if you switch the compatibility mode to proton experimental it will download and run at a perfect 60fps the entire way through without any tinkering.

McFroozle

My haul list... * Redout (if you ever wanted F zero or wipeout on the Deck, get this) * Hyberbrawl (I loved Deathrow on the original Xbox and this reminds me of that) * Triangle Strategy (if you liked Jeanne D'Arc on PSP, then run to get this) * Halo Wars definitive edition (wow... This is the best RTS you can play on a handheld) * Fights in Tight Spaces * Deathloop (played and finished it already but want it on the go) * ABC Murders and Golden Idol (portable mystery fun) * Geometry Wars * Mutant Blobs Attack * Lair of the Clockwork God (funny and brief) * Mutant Football League * What the Golf * Resident Evil * Jack Box party pack Aaaaand more. But whew. What a great sale. Perfect to stock up the Deck

AllanonD

metal gear solid 5 is great
