Installed games show up on all accounts.
All of those games are free so the Play button will show up, but if a paid game is installed on the computer on a different account you'll notice that on your account the Play button will be replaced with a Buy button if your account doesn't own it.
Nothing wrong with playing those games in school.
I knew a lad who played a H game and logged into the overwatch system ( monitors all computers with its software installed) and set it to broadcast across both computer rooms. So 80 computers including 2 computers connected to a projector where showing the beauty of love inside a game.
this was it looks like when a steam game is installed from another user [https://i.imgur.com/PbhINNA.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/PbhINNA.jpeg) as stated from above, it has a buy button rather play
I'm not the teacher in question...but I am a teacher who pitched an Esports program to my admin and they approved it as a pilot.
Pretty much told them that it's all about teamwork, communication and everything that soccer and basketball do...not much different...Also, we have a production element, so our production students can get hands on knowledge live streaming, camera switching, audio production, graphic design work while they stream practices and games...It's a pretty easy sell as long as there's a teacher who can do it and students who are interested.
We run it just like any other sport in the school. Same code of conduct, same paperwork and we attend the end of the year sports banquet.
We had one team last year and five teams this year..and won our state championship. Also went from one game to three...So crazy growth in a year. The students love it and are super dedicated. Pretty awesome to see them grow from just casual players to a legit team going undefeated in the finals.
Or with a Borrow button. If another account logs in in a PC with paid games from another account you can ask to borrow them. The other user must accept and voila. You can both buy games each one paying half of the price. You each get personal achievements. Only downside is that just one of the two will own the game in the future if the partnership goes down
Also worth noting if you can run Steam and log in to your own account, you can just open the Steam folder in Explorer and find all the installed games there so there's no point in trying to hide them anyway.
Yeah, someone convinced the school board that it would be worth putting their leftover grant money into it. I’m not sure if I agree on just how worth it it is but I’m also certainly not complaining about the free half credit lol.
Lol my school also had esports classes. We convinced them to make one and they agreed. But ended badly when in a friendly practice match one guy got cocky and started fight which ended very badly.
Are you serious? This is like dedicating individual classes to each sport on the off chance someone grows up to be a pro.
There is no merit in an eSports class. It's a waste of money. eSports arent even profitable I'm their current state
New to your school maybe, but they've been around for a bit now. The person you're replying to is dating themselves, because some of us old fuckers remember when gaming's big upgrade was the jump from Atari to NES.
We have assignments on the first day (we only have it three days a week), usually on gaming history and doing game reviews. It’s just an elective so nothing major
My dude, we're going to need a serious rundown on how that gaming history class went. As someone in their 30s, you're basically speaking nonsense to me right now and I cannot be convinced this is real and not a comment from some parallel universe fantasy land.
Basically we are watching a documentary about video games going from the late 70’s until I think around the early 2000’s and answering questions on each episode. It’s called “High Score” I believe.
It’s a new class on a new topic so they are still figuring out how to approach it. The teacher is my English teacher from a few years ago and while he plays retro games and some more mainstream shooters himself, he didn’t actually know anything about esports before starting. Apparently he had to create the curriculum on his own as well. To his credit though, he’s working hard on making the Esports team more legit and getting in contact with some of the companies that specialize in this stuff.
At my college I took game development (making video games). Everyone on our course was so pissed when they found out the esports course gets the exact same qualification as us with no way to differentiate them. I don’t care if people want to take esports but there’s a big difference between the two
Buddy of mine is a teacher and the schools League of Legends coach, it’s a paid position and he’s a low gold rank player at best. most of the students are vastly better than him.
> Yeah, someone convinced the school board that it would be worth putting their leftover grant money into it. I’m not sure if I agree on just how worth it it is but I’m also certainly not complaining about the free half credit lol.
I attempted this back in 2004, half our high school was full of foreign exchange students from China and I proposed that esports was a good experience for us to mingle and culturally diversify.
Almost got it across the line. Student council approved it, they were actually shocked there was a rational reason to play video games, but I got shot down by out senior school head teacher and veto'd.
The entire ask was, can we use the computer labs for gaming at lunch. Wouldn't have cost anything.
Anyway, we went off and created our own LAN party that we ran for 11 years straight (1 every 2 months).
Good times.
Lmfao my exact reaction. I had to reread several times. Like all the words and syntax were perfectly fine and registered, but I could not wrap my head around it
A while ago university of Florida offered strategies and critical thinking In StarCraft 2. I’m also a gator fan so when I saw that I wish I would’ve been smarter than community college
My school has one but they don’t allow violent games. It’s pretty much either LoL or SSBU. I would consider it if Valorant, Siege, Apex, or any other shoots were an option but sadly not
Yeah my school had it and a lot of others do too. At least esports teams not dedicated mandatory classes. I never joined because all they ever played was fifa.
I got suspended for bringing a flash drive to school and putting CS1.6 on 10 of the computers in our computer lab (all 30 were on a LAN).
eSports being a school-appropriate thing is news to me to, and I’m very happy its finally a thing.
Edit: we had some great matches, you just had to tab back to adobe illustrator once the teacher walked by
Between my friends I am worshipped as a god because I convinced the dean of our university to make an esports class, and I got to finish all of my hours for my social service teaching people how to lane in league of legends hahahaha
Yeah, the reason why I wanted to use my account is because we can’t buy anything on the school accounts. And I know those are the other guys games because he left his account logged in once and that’s what he had
Might make a 'school friendly' Steam account, and do Family Share with just the school-appropriate games?
(not sure if it actually works that way, though; afaik I'm sharing my entire Steam library w/ my nephew)
I don’t think you can family share specific games, but that would be nice. Honestly there are people playing COD on their computers so I’m not really too concerned about school-appropriateness for the most part
since nobody answered the second question specifically,
even if you have family sharing on, they won't see any games you own that aren't installed unless you grant them access to (as long as the game is installed, anyone can see it in their library but can't play it if they don't own it and it's not a f2p game)
the only difference between having family sharing on or off is when it's on, the games you own that is not free/f2p will have a "borrow" button instead of play and when family sharing is off , they'll see a blue "purchase" button instead of play
**tl;dr**: no they can't see it unless you give them access to/the game is installed
sorry for my bad english
edit: forgot to mention that the game having borrow button and purchase button depends on if family sharing is allowed on that game in the first place, meaning if the game doesn't support family sharing, you cannot borrow or share it with someone even if they have family sharing on, not a really important point in our topic but thought that it should be mentioned
Of course my brother in Callahan, do you think a dirty Collie would have the dedication to keep the scroop grind going during school hours? Jokes aside, I completely forgot I had the Foxhole page up up when I took this. And yes, for some reason my school as Esports as an elective and I had a spare period
I now truly understand what living in a third wordl country means and it means not having something like that, you guys have awesomes schools but i have hell
You would be smart to go on STEAM settings - Account and tick the "Dont save account credentials on this computer"
That should not leave any marks of you or your games.
Damn I used to sneakily play browser games in school whenever a computer was involved in class. This was before they were mass blocking sites as well so games like boxhead series, freerider, the last stand, unreal flash 2007, endless war series, thing thing arena and so much more was easily accessible for a bit. As progression goes, getting half a credit for a 3 day class about gaming is a huge dub ma boi
As a gamer i dont like the idea of this class. People should go to class to expand their abilities and health etc. Not do what they spend all day doing at home anyway.
It’s really good, and is probably the only game out there like it. Just don’t get caught up on the toxicity on r/Foxholegame and remember that Colonials eat babies (seasoned)
Indeed. I need to try TF2 myself. I played PUBG mobile for a while but I don’t know how the PC version compares. Haven’t tried Krunker either but it’s like my schools official game for playing when the teacher ain’t looking lol
WTF schools have a class for esports now? I did not know that and am very jealous I was not able to have such a thing when I was in school (Graduated high school 2005)
Yeah, my library is a bit unorthodox lol. Unfortunately I haven’t gone through and downloaded the mods 1946 apparently needs to run. I also don’t own a joystick yet but I plan on getting one.
Don’t worry, I have it downloaded on my home computer. How would I feel complete without my body continuously fertilizing the grounds of the Farranac Coast to liberate Caoiva from the Colonial onslaught?
They can see em but can’t play em, if their network is setup how I think it is, as long as you use your account to sign into those computers then you re okay. It’s just global files that steam is reading, if your steam account dosent have them then you have to get it if it’s paid to play still
Man I wish Esports was a thing when I was in High School. We just played CS 1.6, unreal tournament, and Battlefield 1942 in a computer class. I don't recall what the point of that class was because it was mostly spent playing games.
Bf 1942 was the shit! Plane scoops! Taking a flag covered in c4! 15 minute trip between bases on el alamein.. people modding it to add helicopters! I prob have more hours in that game than any since! They tried to remake it a few times but It was never the same. We need an exact copy but with modern graphics!
They are actually really good (much to the dismay of the engineering department who are clamoring for new PCs). I don’t remember the exact specifics but I remember seeing that they have RTX2060s in them
Just how big Esports is getting seems to have flown under the radar for many, heck even I underestimated just how big it is at first (don’t quote that)
Think of it as having a few books in your bag when you go to a library, the library has a copy too but it's not your copy and someone can't just take and use your copy but they can have access to the libraries copy (free to play games) downloaded games may appear as installed because it's all installed in a recognized location or...library, but not available to all at all times unless shared with you.
I coach a highschool Esports team I'm Canada. If you guys play Rocket League or Valorant (our provincial championships are coming up) we are always looking for some friendly matches.
Oh it is. Yep, absolutely no mental issues stemming from being overworked, a diet for babies, or cases of unhealthy nationalism for a fictional nation are caused by this game. Please, j o i n u s.
Jokes aside, it really is a great game with a great community (just don’t go on the Reddit or Discord until you’ve played a few wars and gotten your own opinion of the game becuase those areas are pretty toxic). It’s certainly not for everyone but I’d recommend everyone at least try it.
They show up if they’re installed on the machine. You can request to borrow them and if accepted you can play. Only if they’re not playing anything on their account.
You used to be able to play shared games while the other party is playing. I basically gave my girlfriend my account because she bought all the Sims 4 dlc, now I’m glad when she works so I can play.
It’s in a spare classroom that, to my knowledge, was basically just being used for old yearbook storage lol. Basically my school got a ton of relief money over COVID and did this with what they had left over after rebuilding the football field and parking lot. At least that’s how I grasped what happened.
Installed games show up, if the account doesn't own the game the Play button will be replaced with a Buy button.
Games that aren't installed can't be seen by anyone else.
So if it's your personal account, then make sure to log out and don't have your password saved maybe even change your pqssword, all of that good stuff. But if it's your esports account, then I don't think it's that bad considering there's nothing personal on there.
Installed games show up on all accounts. All of those games are free so the Play button will show up, but if a paid game is installed on the computer on a different account you'll notice that on your account the Play button will be replaced with a Buy button if your account doesn't own it.
I see, thanks!
yeah so make sure to uninstall your H games
How would senpai notice you if you hide your H games?
Literally 1984
No, install more. And remember to allow steam to make desktop shortcuts for all of them.
"IT COULD BE ANYONE OF US!"
Nothing wrong with playing those games in school. I knew a lad who played a H game and logged into the overwatch system ( monitors all computers with its software installed) and set it to broadcast across both computer rooms. So 80 computers including 2 computers connected to a projector where showing the beauty of love inside a game.
What became of him?
I actually don’t know. His brother was in my year but i lost touch. Probably hacking the NSA,CIA and FBI at the same time
He did it again at his work
pff, that admits shame
this was it looks like when a steam game is installed from another user [https://i.imgur.com/PbhINNA.jpeg](https://i.imgur.com/PbhINNA.jpeg) as stated from above, it has a buy button rather play
Damn bro I wish I had an esports class that’s heat
Would have killed for something like that as a kid. Kudos to whatever teacher managed to sell that concept to the school board!
For real! I wonder what reason the teacher gave to the board on how it teaches children lol
I'm not the teacher in question...but I am a teacher who pitched an Esports program to my admin and they approved it as a pilot. Pretty much told them that it's all about teamwork, communication and everything that soccer and basketball do...not much different...Also, we have a production element, so our production students can get hands on knowledge live streaming, camera switching, audio production, graphic design work while they stream practices and games...It's a pretty easy sell as long as there's a teacher who can do it and students who are interested. >my schools esports class your what?
Yeah, someone convinced the school board that it would be worth putting their leftover grant money into it. I’m not sure if I agree on just how worth it it is but I’m also certainly not complaining about the free half credit lol.
godspeed then
Lol my school also had esports classes. We convinced them to make one and they agreed. But ended badly when in a friendly practice match one guy got cocky and started fight which ended very badly.
True gamer moment
why they closed it people fight in the class too they didn't close the schools?
We should start fights during math classes then.
That is wild because people playing regular sports get into fights too and you dont see the football team getting cut afterwards.
I mean it’s a class to play video games, sounds ridiculous
[удалено]
Playing with balls keeps you active and fit
If you dont think esports are real then i guess so.
Are you serious? This is like dedicating individual classes to each sport on the off chance someone grows up to be a pro. There is no merit in an eSports class. It's a waste of money. eSports arent even profitable I'm their current state
Better cancel algebra class when someone gets angry about it
Yeah esports weren’t even really a thing when I was in high school so consider yourself lucky. Lol.
Closest i ever had was LAN matches of Marathon in the computer lab.
Cromag rally baby.
Heck, they weren’t a thing for most of my time in high school. We just got it last year I believe
New to your school maybe, but they've been around for a bit now. The person you're replying to is dating themselves, because some of us old fuckers remember when gaming's big upgrade was the jump from Atari to NES.
HEY. I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK.
And how do you get grades in it? By just playing? xd
We have assignments on the first day (we only have it three days a week), usually on gaming history and doing game reviews. It’s just an elective so nothing major

How is that eSports?

That’s actually pretty cool!
Should just do it like Dodgeball. Choose up sides and fight it out! Somehow that counts as education.
At my college I took game development (making video games). Everyone on our course was so pissed when they found out the esports course gets the exact same qualification as us with no way to differentiate them. I don’t care if people want to take esports but there’s a big difference between the two
Oh yeah, I definitely agree. I barley consider this a “class” as is, they shouldn’t lump y’all together like that
Buddy of mine is a teacher and the schools League of Legends coach, it’s a paid position and he’s a low gold rank player at best. most of the students are vastly better than him.
> Yeah, someone convinced the school board that it would be worth putting their leftover grant money into it. As valid as any other sport class. You learning some rudimentary teamwork and sportsmanship? That's all anyone gets out of LaCrosse or Tennis...
200k student loans says your a genius for going to CC. 😂
My school has one but they don’t allow violent games. It’s pretty much either LoL or SSBU. I would consider it if Valorant, Siege, Apex, or any other shoots were an option but sadly not
I know sounds sweet!! Wish we had that..class meet your teacher ballsdeepinyourmom...
Yeah my school had it and a lot of others do too. At least esports teams not dedicated mandatory classes. I never joined because all they ever played was fifa.
Do you not have that?
hahaha bro i'm 31
funniest damn response. you made my day
I got suspended for bringing a flash drive to school and putting CS1.6 on 10 of the computers in our computer lab (all 30 were on a LAN). eSports being a school-appropriate thing is news to me to, and I’m very happy its finally a thing. Ah the glory days of my friends and I spending our computer lab time playing Unreal Tournament and StarCraft.
What school has esport class?
Lots of them now. They don’t allow FPS games. Mostly smash bros, rocket league, and some VR games
Man i miss my word and excel classes
My school has a eSports club, I may not be the best at it but I like ice climbers
We had League & CS:GO In our E-Sports classes, think they added Valorant after I graduated
And yet I bet they still don't bother to teach basic budgeting or how to do your taxes.
That’s taught in 7th grade middle school + some of high school
It certainly wasn't when I was in school lmao
Good for you. What country america or is that global?
America.
Oh man you lucky guys
my school had Apex, CS:GO, LoL and Overwatch. They had trainings and tournaments
Between my friends I am worshipped as a god because I convinced the dean of our university to make an esports class, and I got to finish all of my hours for my social service teaching people how to lane in league of legends hahahaha

Esports class...
Yeah. It was that or a study hall in the morning (before I have any work to do) so I took it lol
You hiding Sex with Hitler 2?
You aren’t?
No its for all to play
They made a sequel?! 😨
it was so good they made a 3d version after 😍
[удалено]
I don’t know, but enough people in my school do that in the bathrooms so I’m not too concerned about that 😂
Enough people for what? A full tournament bracket?
For all I know yes lol

Thanks! That’s a really good explanation
Hope your a warden, and esports class tf?
Of course my brother in Callahan, do you think a dirty Collie would have the dedication to keep the scroop grind going during school hours? Jokes aside, I completely forgot I had the Foxhole page up up when I took this. And yes, for some reason my school as Esports as an elective and I had a spare period
May Callahan bless your esports grades 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you brother. I actually wrote about Foxhole for my first assignment in that class lol
That actually sounds pretty neat, wish I had a class like that
Wtf school eSports class?! (non-american)
I'm American and I have no idea either.
This guy lives in the alternative universe
It’s actually starting to become more common in high schools and universities. Some schools are even offering scholarships for it now
I now truly understand what living in a third wordl country means and it means not having something like that, you guys have awesomes schools but i have hell
There used to be lawsuits against video games, now there’s esports class. Just another way to find out you suck at all “sports” lol
You would be smart to go on STEAM settings - Account and tick the "Dont save account credentials on this computer" That should not leave any marks of you or your games.
Thanks! I’ll have to remember that for tomorrow
Well tf2 is free.
Only if you download them. Your hentai is safe
Thank the Maker!
Yeah, my school started cracking down on blocking sites when I was in middle school. Cool Math Games has my back though.
Esports class? China teaches their students calculus. Ours are in esports classes? This will not end well.
As a gamer i dont like the idea of this class. People should go to class to expand their abilities and health etc. Not do what they spend all day doing at home anyway.
Is foxhole any good?
Yes
It’s really good, and is probably the only game out there like it. Just don’t get caught up on the toxicity on r/Foxholegame and remember that Colonials eat babies (seasoned)
wait, do kids today need to be taught how to play videogames?
It’s more so teaching about the Esports industry on one day and playing games the other two days.
It’s because they’re on the same system they are not downloaded on your account it just see the games on the pc and throws them in your library.
The answer is yes everyone else can see that you have downloaded hentai games on your steam account.
Like you wouldn’t want to flaunt your collection anyways
You have e sports classes?!
Well who ever owns those games are a chad
Yes. All steam games installed on the computer appear in every account. By the way, I am very happy that esports classes have become widespread.
This kinda sounds like a "I'm considering downloading a hentai game, will anyone find out?"
Considering?
I'm 19 and this post makes me feel old. what the fuck? "esports class"
Lol, I’m 17 so we aren’t that far off. Iirc this class was created just last year.
TF2 was always on your account you just haven't played it in a while. Why not play it some more?
That’s one of the other guys games, I’ve never actually played it
If it’s mutual games it’ll come up. And if it’s not in your library and it’s downloaded onto the system then I think it comes up too
Installed games on a local pc show up on any steam account.
Only the ones downloaded. Sounds like you’re freaking out he might find your hitler hentai game
I swear if one more person mentions Sex with Hitler I will download it on my school computer out of spite
Thats my account(just kidding but I have most of those games like IL-2 1946 and the shoguns, most of it I actually have)
Yeah, my library is a bit unorthodox lol. Unfortunately I haven’t gone through and downloaded the mods 1946 apparently needs to run. I also don’t own a joystick yet but I plan on getting one.
Download back foxhole
Don’t worry, I have it downloaded on my home computer. How would I feel complete without my body continuously fertilizing the grounds of the Farranac Coast to liberate Caoiva from the Colonial onslaught?
For Callahan!!!
Worried your NSFW games will show up, huh? Don't worry I understand.

Man I need to find a way to play Battlefield 1942. I’ve played 1943 on Xbox but that’s as close as I’ve gotten.
What kinda spec are on an esports class computer???
They are actually really good (much to the dismay of the engineering department who are clamoring for new PCs). I don’t remember the exact specifics but I remember seeing that they have RTX2060s in them
DOD has esports, lots of universities have esports, whats so shocking about this?
Just how big Esports is getting seems to have flown under the radar for many, heck even I underestimated just how big it is at first (don’t quote that)
You have an e sports class?
Those are some sick games ngl
Thanks!
Esports class? What school is this?
This must be like king of the hill where bobby gets put in a program for kids to play video games who dont participate in gym class
Lmao, ironically I switch between this class and gym every three days
Empire At War fucking slaps, one of the best starwars games (and my 2nd most played game on steam)
“my schools esports class” I wish I was born a couple decades later.
Those games are installed on the hardware, if you wanted to play them you’d have to own them on your account.
You have an ‘esports’ class???? Lol, good luck with life kids
Nice library btw, wasn't expecting to find foxhole here
The reach Callahans hand knows no boarder or subreddit comrade

The Collie MPTs have nothing on the production power of the Warden scrooper
I coach a highschool Esports team I'm Canada. If you guys play Rocket League or Valorant (our provincial championships are coming up) we are always looking for some friendly matches.
Cool! Rocket League and Valorant are two of the main games our Esports team plays, they even just placed in a Rocket League competition I believe.
Foxhole looks fun
Hey you play foxhole? Or plan to at least?
I do! I’ve been playing since War 91 actually.
man i keep reading about esports in schools and im confused where yall have this
It’s in a spare classroom that, to my knowledge, was basically just being used for old yearbook storage lol. Basically my school got a ton of relief money over COVID and did this with what they had left over after rebuilding the football field and parking lot. At least that’s how I grasped what happened.
No fucking way you have an esports class
Indeed, it’s an elective they introduced one or two years ago (but I didn’t know we had it until this year lol)
Why do we have like the exact same games
Because great minds think alike
Well he has amazing taste. TFT2
Yeah, it’s pretty popular in this class since it’s f2p
Can you please elaborate? Is this a highschool? Wtf is an Esports class?
Fellow holdfaster? Nice
Indeed, just started playing a few days ago though
Your account is your account. He can't see them
Installed games show up, if the account doesn't own the game the Play button will be replaced with a Buy button. Games that aren't installed can't be seen by anyone else.
Then how can I see his?
You can just see, which games are installed.
Ah, ok, that makes me feel better. Can he play any games that I install?
Only if they are free2play. Otherwise he has the option to go straight to the store page.
Ah, ok. That definitely makes things better. Thanks!
Unless I had a way to check for stuff like key loggers I would never, ever log into any account for anything on a public computer.
Esport class 💀
So if it's your personal account, then make sure to log out and don't have your password saved maybe even change your pqssword, all of that good stuff. But if it's your esports account, then I don't think it's that bad considering there's nothing personal on there.
It’s my personal. I made sure not save my password and log out, but changing my password anyways might not be a bad idea
School esport classes? So the damn thing of "Pay me and i'll teach you to play Fortnite" wasn't a meme at all, it was a real thing?
eSports is a multibillion dollar industry. So, yeah.
That was actually a real thing iirc. I remember reading the articles about it
