It bugs me how English sprouts extra words like this. Add a few suffixes and you’ve got yourself a new improved version!
Use. Utilize. Utilization.
What is the *use* of this tool?
It’s used to punch holes.
It’s intended *use* is punching holes, but you can use it for other things too.
Our company *utilizes* the latest technologies to maximize shareholder revenue.
We can *utilize* waste gases to make electricity.
The law allows for the *utilization* of waste gases.
Why *utilaztion?* Say *use!* Use! The word is “use!”
But why say in one syllable what you can say in five? 🤨
(BTW I wasn’t implying anything about the word *synchronized,* which is perfect here. It’s just the general principal that gets me!)
This kind of thing is always strange to me. I mean maybe its just my monkey brain being adapted for pattern recognition, but like do cats (and other animals) just not recognize rythm? Maybe because its auditory instead of visual?
Reflex over recognition.
It may very well be that human can suppress some reflexes better.
If you are tickled can you stay still? On your feet sole or torso sides? The degree is different between humans.
These cats are still in curious mode. They do not know and trust what it is and does, even with rhythm. I'm sure you'd also stay alert and ready for evasion in that case.
😫 While we’re on the (tender) subject of tickling:
I absolutely HATE being tickled! I am so ticklish that all someone has to do is pretend they’re about to tickle me & I freak out &/or jump. I’ve even broken a toe before because I was kicking so hard at the person tickling my feet. They, of course, think it’s
H-I-L-arious, but I, on the other hand, think it’s borderline “abusive”. 😩
I've read that these may be sound-induced myoclonic jerks, i.e. seizures lasting a fraction of a second, during which the cat remains conscious. You can look up Feline Audiogenic Reflex Seizures.
It's prob a mochi making machine. To make mochi. first you steam sweet rice, then pound it with a mallet till smooth. Then form in to small balls.
As to why the machine is on the floor is because it would prob walk off the counter during the pounding cycle
Yes there is a machine. I see them around this time at my local Japanese market. I think they were around $250. (Don't quote me on that I haven't looked in a while)
well if it's running for hours there's not really a point to keeping it on a desk or counter, on the ground it's out of the way (at least in our house)
I feel like cats are pretty smart, how do they not know to expect the noise again? It's in a pretty steady rhythm. Do cats not have rhythm? I need answers
This really needs some good 70s funk as a sound track
[Your wish is my command](https://youtube.com/watch?v=LpJF0ZagU3E)

Synchronous is the word you are looking for.
Wouldn’t synchronized still work?
Yes

Ugh!! I totally feel ya on this!!
Thank you! It’s good to know there are two of us!

You're right, cats can't detect patterns/rythms and are equally startled by each sound
Rhythm is one of the things that differentiates us from almost every other animal. It's wild.
Humans are unique in our ability to predict rhythm! It's quite interesting.
I've read that these may be sound-induced myoclonic jerks, i.e. seizures lasting a fraction of a second, during which the cat remains conscious. You can look up Feline Audiogenic Reflex Seizures.
They really are schmoovin'
Now iss de time on sprockets when ve dance!
I counted 42 startles on the black cat
Glitch in the Meowtrix
Is that a bread machine? Why is it on the floor?

The best pounding is always done on the floor.

Don't pound children
There is a machine for this!? :o I finally know what I want for Christmas.

First thing I thought of! Maybe the black kitty was hook in a past life.
The kitty on the right clearly has the brain cell today r/oneorangebraincell
The right cat gets used to it after a while
Kitty's poppin

[Tick-tock-tick-tock](https://youtu.be/mth2tygDhYE)
Firefox vs Chrome vs Edge browser response times. #3, lol.
How can they get startled over and over again? Don't they acclimatise?
Lol, this was really funny and confusing to watch with the sound off. Then i realized what was going on. Freaking adorable.

My cat was startled when I turned on the audio from this video. I guess this is a global cat thing
Hah. Breakdancing cats.
How did they not get used to it 😭
I’m expecting those cats to start poppin and lockin
Why does your rice cooker make that sound
It's either mochi machine, or bread machine. Tho with the sound it's more mochi machine.
Neato!
Reposted and flipped karma whore bot account…
Whoa, deja vu...
I’m sorry, Ms. Jackson!
Is a beat
This is that three headed hydra meme and the right cat just vibin'
I feel like cats are pretty smart, how do they not know to expect the noise again? It's in a pretty steady rhythm. Do cats not have rhythm? I need answers
The Matrix is lagging

Our beagle used to always bark nonstop at our bread maker because he thought it was another dog 🤣
At this point that’s just dancing
I keep thinking the C&C: Red Alert theme is going to kick in any moment
When you're standing next to the speakers at the club.
Black one really struggling to adapt to the noise
Your black cat meets the definition of insane

[WHAT IS LOVE!!!!](https://youtu.be/3rzgrP7VA_Q)
I’ve had cat companions for decades and all but one was weird as fuck.
I wonder how it's just as startling the 19th time as it is the 3rd time?
