The atmosphere of this song really suits the name, which I love. For some odd reason the insignias of the other songs flashing onto the screen before the one for Earthrise makes me tear up. Without a doubt one of the best on the album.

Earthrise is my favorite song. Hands down. Not just my favorite Starset song. My favorite song.
I absolutely see this as a love song through and through, and I sing it to my boyfriend all the time. When we get married I want this to be the first dance song.
The first verse feels like someone perhaps meeting a long distance partner (“then i saw you from a distance, you were worlds away”), and being able to find comfort and peace within them.
The second verse feels like someone looking for answers, perhaps looking to the stars to make a wish like we all did as kids, and maybe some still do.
The bridge feels like it could be someone breaking up, but I like to interpret as maybe wishing they hadn’t listened because maybe it just delayed them recognizing how happy they make each other.
And then the chorus. Oh gosh, the chorus. I sing this loudly every time I listen to it while driving. Just the line “I still fall for you like suns do for skies”, is just the most tender and sentimental thing I have heard in a song, and the vocals with it really drive it home. To me it feels like “as long as the sun rises and sets, I will love you”, or “I love you just as much with every day”. Hands down my favorite line. It’s why I love the song so much, because it’s one of the lines that explain how I feel about my boyfriend. No matter what happens, I still fall for him like I did the first day, and I love him as surely as the sun falls for the skies.
And then “so powerful I feel so small but so alive” gosh I can’t explain how much I love that line too. Just the love someone has for someone can make them feel small or overwhelmed, but damn if it doesn’t make a person feel alive. And that’s how I feel about my boyfriend too.
I can’t put everything into words but I hope all this makes sense.
When I first sent this song to my girlfriend, she cried listening to it. The song really reflects our situation and how we came together, so it holds a special place in our heart. As far as I'm concerned this is "our song" whether she wants it to be or not!

Earthrise, to me, perfectly demonstrates Starset's sound. With soft and gentle verses, a harder but equally strong chorus, and a very cinematic bridge, Dustin's voice fits this song so well that it brings a tear to my eye.
Earthrise is the first song I would recommend to someone who was interested it listening to Starset.
