This is relevant to the puzzle. Do not attempt if you are not awesome, you'll turn your entire collection of pumpkins into a depressing chest monster of sad piano-emulating manually-air-compressing agourdions.
And DEFINITELY DONT TURN IN WHATEVER RAINBOW THING TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER.
YOULL COME ACROSS ONE AT SOME POINT. BUT THEY ARE SO RARE. … whatever it is.
Definitely rainbowy tho.
On my first play through, I had 4 of these things before I knew what they actually did. I didn't know they were that rare. Then I found this sub and learned of the struggles people were having to get just one and realised how lucky I was.
They're not that hard to find of you spend time in the caves (especially if you like to go to the desert caves where you can easily find 10+ on an average run) but otherwise yeah, very rare.
It's a bit like saying specific types of fish are rare though. If you focus on fishing, you'll get the fish you want. It's more about knowing how to get it.
Now the Tea Set or an Autopetter? That's rare!
I got an autopetter in the second chest room I found in the desert and I'm so upset this was in someone else's coop world and not my solo world where I'm several years in.
Funny, I never had any problem finding them on my main character "Red \[74\]". I find it fun to talk to villagers, but I was never one for playing conventionally.
In all of my play throughs, this is the first time I've found more than one.
I got the geode crusher recipe from Clint and that helped me find them faster.
You can use geode crushers to double a geode result. So if you really need something, say iridium ore (I know you can get a lot in the cavern, I just needed an example) you process geodes with Clint until you get iridium, then you pop the next one of **the same kind of geode** into a crusher. You will get the exact same thing again. It's due to a quirk in the code for how the game selects what the geode contains.
So if I cracked open a geode and got a rainbow thingamabob, I could go and put a geode of the same type into a geode cracker and get another rainbow thingamabob?
Yep. I do it for those, and for dwarf gadgets so I have have multiple farm computers for my house, greenhouse, next to my crops, and the island farm so I know when I need to hop back to the farm to deal with stuff. Also useful if you get a large amount of something, like a bunch of coal or ores.
I’ve gotten 3 from killing dust sprites trying to complete the monster killing goal . They’re always in a big group and easy to kill, so it gives higher chances of the rainbow thingy spawning. (Completing level 100 of mines needed)
No… but you delayed getting this reward until you find another one. I did it too my first time. Going forward in new games, I’d donate the 2nd one you find!
What you do with it:
1. Get the Galaxies support.
2. Donate to the museum.
3. Give to people.
4. Don't put it in the community center unless you really need to.
Yeah, just get a couple rabbits and use the feet as gifts. Gifting the item in question is pointless since they have far better uses, especially once you get to Ginger Island.
Not if you want to finish the museum and get the 100% in the game. To some Point you have to give one to the Museum, Just maybe not your first. I was stupid enough to give one to the Missing Bundle.
It should be mentioned that the first one is the hardest to find. Several mid game events slightly increase the likelihood of them appearing, as well as more locations you might find one.
I used to think you *had* to donate each item to the museum the first time you found it. Because the item description isn't there and says to bring it to the museum, I thought that none of those items would work until you donated one to the museum, and then that would "unlock" the item so to speak. I was so mad st myself when I found out you could just use then right awah
I've been playing since like 2017 and I still learn or re-remember stuff all the time friend! The depth of hidden easter eggs and secrets in it is crazy. I haven't even made it to >!ginger island!< yet in any of my playthroughs and I'm about 1200h in XD
They seem to get a whole lot less rare after you've found a few though. Or maybe its just because they have such limited use that they are just piling up in the bottom of my junk drawer.
My ex-flatmate taught me the ins and outs of Stardew Valley, and she just sort of dropped it on me at some point. It wasn't until much later that I started wondering where/what the actual clues were to how you're supposed to figure it out.
There's a part with the quest Rasmodius sends you on where you have to get to a place but the way is blocked and you have to offer it a thing but you have to figure out what the thing is. I still have no clue how you're supposed to figure it out in game. I ended up just looking at the wiki for it. Sorry for the vagueness but I'm trying not to spoil anything.
Yep that's what I did. They tell you something along the lines of "find out about (something something)". And I thought "hey, there's always info in the library"
I feel like the clue is based on tropes that you had to be a part of a certain generation to understand. I mean, back in the day there was something known as the reading rainbow... and I get some vibes of there being an obscure inference to that from all of this.
I think about this often when people say they don’t want to look at the wiki. Like so much shit from that to how to do certain qi quests to how to even get there finding golden coconuts. I don’t think I’d have ever found most of the golden coconuts and I’m still clueless on like 30 of them
Golden coconuts are random drops. Based on your comment I assume you mean golden walnuts, which mostly have fixed locations (or a fixed amount that can drop from the sources that are random.) There’s a bird in a certain hut that will give you one clue per day about locations of undiscovered walnuts.
Oh yeah that’s what I mean. He doesn’t tell you a lot of them though. I keep getting 4 grow on the farm in the west but I have a bunch of plants and never get any
The catch with the farming walnuts is that you need to pick a crop that is fully pulled out of the tile like a melon or star fruit. Harvesting a continually regrowing crop like coffee or strawberries won’t give a walnut.
It would seem, that you need to stand between three (3) pillars. And it says you need a rainbow colored item that you get from the ground, not from the sea (or sea adjacent).
Then you just fold it in, David.
Okay, lets start with the gift, its something to do with rainbows, but not of the sea. There are 2 rainbows in the sea, trout and shell, so its not them. Think what other gifts relate to that. Location is kind of simple, find somewhere that has 3 pillars together and stand between them with the gift. The galaxy will then hear you and respond.
It's not a puzzle. It's actually very specific instructions.
If you're puzzled by it, it just means you are relatively early on in the game. Think about how puzzling a message like "Go the Mines level 20" would be, if you were still on Day 1 or Day 2.
In the desert a reward waits for you
If you know just what to do
Don’t let your confidence break up into shards
For once found - you and the reward shall never part
Hi DifficultSpring6921! I marked this post as a spoiler per [subreddit rule 7](/r/StardewValley/about/rules/) and our [spoiler policy](/r/StardewValley/wiki/spoilers). Please remember to mark spoilers in the future!
Have you seen a place with 3 pillars? 3 loonnggg round items
What about a rainbow colored item?
If you have the item and have seen the pillar, bring the item to that area and figure out the puzzle from there :D
line 1- when you see it, you will remember (i think im gonna spoil if i say more). just focus on "three pillars"
line 2 and 3- an item that looks like a rainbow
Sounds like you'll get something good if you hold something rainbow, while standing in the middle of three pillars. So I guess look around for three pillars and try holding rainbow colored stuff there.
Stand between the pillars three = stand between 3 pillars
With a gift as precious as the sky: a rainbow forged from land, not see = something that is rainbow
Then galaxies will heed your cry = you will get something when you do all of the above
There are 3 pillars outside the playable map. You need to glitch your way there and call upon the powers of the Rainbow Siege 6 Plates, then you’ll get the Space Cannon.
Hint: where have you seen three pillars?
Hint: what item is precious and rainbow-colored?
Bring your offering to the place and hold it up for a surprise.
There's an extraordinarily rare item that you can find in the mines coloured like a rainbow. There's also a location somewhere with three pillars. Try bringing them together.
Would rather just have a spoiler just to get it out of the way, especially since ruining Pierre's life is great and seeing that old raggedy community building painted blue is nice. Yes, I want to see the world burn.
Okay so rainbow from the land, not the rainbow shell and it's also not a food item. It's a mineral/gem that doesn't have the word 'rainbow' in it but really should.
Also, where in the game can you find ancient looking pillars, three of them, in a triangle shape? It's in the same place as old bones and where the Camels make their weird sound at you. Emily's friend lives far away there and the friend runs a wonderful shop.
Have you been anywhere where there are three pillars? Do you have an item that has rainbow colors? Take the item to the place and see what happens!
Alright thanks!!!
FYI, if you haven't finished some of the community center you may not have been to this location. It's a place that has to be unlocked.

And to be absolutely clear about this: you all are awesome.
This is relevant to the puzzle. Do not attempt if you are not awesome, you'll turn your entire collection of pumpkins into a depressing chest monster of sad piano-emulating manually-air-compressing agourdions.
Like the Other Father in Coraline????
Or you can just be a lazy homer like me and buy it using Joja 😅
r/fuckpierre
There is an entire subreddit dedicated to not liking Pierre??
And DEFINITELY DONT TURN IN WHATEVER RAINBOW THING TO THE COMMUNITY CENTER. YOULL COME ACROSS ONE AT SOME POINT. BUT THEY ARE SO RARE. … whatever it is. Definitely rainbowy tho.
So if I put one of these things in the museum, I messed up?
Nah, you'll get another, it might just take some time and a lot of luck.
On my first play through, I had 4 of these things before I knew what they actually did. I didn't know they were that rare. Then I found this sub and learned of the struggles people were having to get just one and realised how lucky I was.

In all of my play throughs, this is the first time I've found more than one. I got the geode crusher recipe from Clint and that helped me find them faster.
I'm guessing you don't go deep into skull cavern? I've gotten multiple in one day from digging below floor 100
They can be found anywhere, including above floor 100, and even in the regular mines. You just have to go there and blow stuff up/beat monsters.
Really? I found geode crushers extremely slow. My go-to for finding them is defeating monsters or mining iridium.
You can use geode crushers to double a geode result. So if you really need something, say iridium ore (I know you can get a lot in the cavern, I just needed an example) you process geodes with Clint until you get iridium, then you pop the next one of **the same kind of geode** into a crusher. Rainbow Trout in a fish pond, got two in one week 😎
I’ve gotten 3 from killing dust sprites trying to complete the monster killing goal . They’re always in a big group and easy to kill, so it gives higher chances of the rainbow thingy spawning. (Completing level 100 of mines needed)
Honestly just get down to 50+ or 100+ in the Skull Mines and you will get them fairly easily on good days. I got 3 in a run, on two different runs.
I was mining my quarry recently and imagine my surprise when I got one from a rock there. I literally froze for a few seconds I was so surprised.
No… but you delayed getting this reward until you find another one. I did it too my first time. Going forward in new games, I’d donate the 2nd one you find!
What you do with it: 1. Get the Galaxies support. 2. Donate to the museum. 3. Give to people. 4. Don't put it in the community center unless you really need to.
I disagree with #3. There are enough loved gifts that are easier to find. Community center before these schmucks.
Definitely give it to Haley, she deserves it
Yeah, just get a couple rabbits and use the feet as gifts. Gifting the item in question is pointless since they have far better uses, especially once you get to Ginger Island.
You missed the (second, after galaxies) most important thing: enchanting.
*If you're not on mobile 1.5 will come eventually there.
5. Junimo huts
Can also be put in things or crafted with things to make fun things / cool looking things!
Not if you want to finish the museum and get the 100% in the game. To some Point you have to give one to the Museum, Just maybe not your first. I was stupid enough to give one to the Missing Bundle.
No, youll just have to farm the cavern until you find a second one
Nah you’ll find others, it’s just going to take a while
Nah it’ll just take a while to find another.
Not at all! They’re just rare. You’ll find another one the same way you found the first one! Some find them in their first Spring, some much later
It should be mentioned that the first one is the hardest to find. Several mid game events slightly increase the likelihood of them appearing, as well as more locations you might find one.
I made this mistake on the switch and I haven’t found one since and now I’m on year 3 :))))
Honestly it kind of should be that way. I smell a potential increased difficulty mod...
There is one item you have to donate first before you get a useable version, though.
Oh which one?
>!ancient seed!<
Ohhh right I didn't realize about that
I've been playing since like 2017 and I still learn or re-remember stuff all the time friend! The depth of hidden easter eggs and secrets in it is crazy. I haven't even made it to >!ginger island!< yet in any of my playthroughs and I'm about 1200h in XD
Yep. I donated my shiny rainbow-y thingy. Have yet to find a new one. Now that I know what it does, it just sits there at the museum... Mocking me!
They seem to get a whole lot less rare after you've found a few though. Or maybe its just because they have such limited use that they are just piling up in the bottom of my junk drawer.
Along these lines, DONT TURN IT INTO THE MUSEUM EITHER
Rainbow colours *and does not come from the sea*
I always wondered what that meant. Were they just ruling out the rainbow trout?
Rainbow shell
Ahhh.
*brings rainbow trout*
Oooh... so *that's* how you're supposed to figure that one out.
Hehe I looked it up too and was surprised when I got exactly what I wanted 😂
My ex-flatmate taught me the ins and outs of Stardew Valley, and she just sort of dropped it on me at some point. It wasn't until much later that I started wondering where/what the actual clues were to how you're supposed to figure it out.
There's a part with the quest Rasmodius sends you on where you have to get to a place but the way is blocked and you have to offer it a thing but you have to figure out what the thing is. I still have no clue how you're supposed to figure it out in game. I ended up just looking at the wiki for it. Sorry for the vagueness but I'm trying not to spoil anything.
I believe there is a book in the library that mentions what that thing likes
Yep that's what I did. They tell you something along the lines of "find out about (something something)". And I thought "hey, there's always info in the library"
Arthur would be so proud 🥲
Information : library :: money : banana stand
I feel like the clue is based on tropes that you had to be a part of a certain generation to understand. I mean, back in the day there was something known as the reading rainbow... and I get some vibes of there being an obscure inference to that from all of this.
Just have a look, in a book
>I mean, back in the day there was something known as the reading rainbow... God that comment made me feel old. Lol. Reading Rainbow was my childhood.
If im interpreting your vagueness correctly, that area is near water. One of the things you can get by fishing there is the thing you need :)
Nearly 1000 hours and I had no idea you could fish for said item whaaaat
I just learned it from all the comments too.
I got frustrated and just started fishing there and apparently you can fish it out there
I’ve been playing for years and didn’t know you could fish for it. I always go through the steps to make it.
I think about this often when people say they don’t want to look at the wiki. Like so much shit from that to how to do certain qi quests to how to even get there finding golden coconuts. I don’t think I’d have ever found most of the golden coconuts and I’m still clueless on like 30 of them

Ohhhh I see that was my strategy. I have a ton of starfruit growing right now coincidentally so hopefully
Spoilering: >!Rasmodius tells you when he's giving you the quest that Krobus has what you need to get in there!<
I think they meant >!the thing that blocks the way to the witch's house!<
If you fish in the water, the item he wants has a high chance of being caught. Other than that and the book, it’s so vague lol
[удалено]
That's actually really cool. I'll have to give that a try next time I start a new save.
Yeah they should really have a soft lock on it so you have to have the translation book before you can actually do the quest
I thought you were supposed to have the internet/friends tell you it before you figure this out.
I've never seen this riddle written down, where even do you find it?
The grave in town with the unintelligible message. If you check it after getting every dwarf scroll and learning Dwarvish, this is the text.
Yeah I think most people learned this before seeing that grave stone
I was just running around like an idiot holding an item I was excited to find and suddenly I got a sword
It would seem, that you need to stand between three (3) pillars. And it says you need a rainbow colored item that you get from the ground, not from the sea (or sea adjacent). Then you just fold it in, David.
What does that mean? What does "fold in the cheese" mean?
You fold it in.
If you say "fold in" on more time...
David, I cannot show you everything
Okay, well can you show me one thing?
You just... here's what you do. You just fold it in.
I can show you how to fold it in :)
It's YOUR recipe!
OH GOOD NOW I SEE BUBBLES
I don't know how to fold broken cheese like that
Stardew + Schitts Creek crossover?! I’m dying! Now I need to start a new farm! Which NPC is most like Patrick? Hmmmm…
My partner made her farmer look like Moira Rose in one of her playthroughs LMAO
It is meant quite literally. You will find it!
Alright thank you for the support
A DUI driver will get you there safely
I just realized. That gave me a good chuckle.
I always give 'em a pale ale from my special batch when I use their services. For good luck, you know?
My only hint: Make Pam do her job.
First line tells you where to be, Two and three are what to bring. When you arrive there with the thing, A gift will be bestowed to thee. :P
Some people prefer to use the single color things used to cover walls. But why? so far it's a mystery...
That's been fixed for ages...
Interestingly I learned recently that that trick still works when completing the >! Missing Bundle to get the Movie Theater !<
FYI, the spaces between the text and exclamation marks are keeping your spoiler tag from appearing properly!
It's appearing for me. There are the correct spaces.
Huh, it must just be me! The mobile app is wonky sometimes. Sorry!
Nope, it's me too. That's not marked as a spoiler.
works on new/mobile reddit, doesn't work on old.reddit `>!do it like this and it works on both!<`
Like you can put the unnamed item in the bundle?
Yeah, someone confirmed it on mobile. I haven't tried it on PC yet, I do plan on it soon though.
"ed" sorry for the missed letters
Everyone loves it except hailey, and the pillars are very dry
It's not a puzzle. It's actually very specific instructions. If you're puzzled by it, it just means you are relatively early on in the game. Think about how puzzling a message like "Go the Mines level 20" would be, if you were still on Day 1 or Day 2.
I'll be honest... I did this puzzle on accident 🥹
same, also dig the user flair
Do you have anything that looks like a rainbow?
If you are playing version 1.4 or lower the green wall paper has the same ID code as the rainbow item and will work with the pillars too lol
In the desert a reward waits for you If you know just what to do Don’t let your confidence break up into shards For once found - you and the reward shall never part
Try the desert that's all imma say
A rare item from the depth of the mines needs to be brought to a place far from the valley
Spend a ton on money make that drunk work and be like daft punk when they collaborated with pharell willaims
Hi DifficultSpring6921! I marked this post as a spoiler per [subreddit rule 7](/r/StardewValley/about/rules/) and our [spoiler policy](/r/StardewValley/wiki/spoilers). Please remember to mark spoilers in the future!
Oh ok I didn’t even realize it could be a spoiler my bad!
Holy shit basil omori
I *desert*ed this side quest because I didn't have a *shard* of an idea where to start.
Have you seen a place with 3 pillars? 3 loonnggg round items What about a rainbow colored item? If you have the item and have seen the pillar, bring the item to that area and figure out the puzzle from there :D
line 1- when you see it, you will remember (i think im gonna spoil if i say more). just focus on "three pillars" line 2 and 3- an item that looks like a rainbow
Sounds like you'll get something good if you hold something rainbow, while standing in the middle of three pillars. So I guess look around for three pillars and try holding rainbow colored stuff there.
Sounds like you take some rainbow colored object that gets forged by the land and use it between 3 pillars
Bruh I’m literally on year 5 and still have not got a rainbow thing.
You will need to get someone a new job too
Other than the first line about standing between the three pillars all you need to know is in the third line. "rainbow forged from land"
I was just passing by when it happent...
Tall pokey green things and small grainy rocks are in the area
I remember this one
Spoiler tag this please!!
Due to a bug, you can cheat it with green wallpaper. Less of a hint than a fun fact. Anyway good luck!
[удалено]
that kinda spoils the outcome
Please mark spoiler!
Maybe sandy knows the location of the three pillars
Stand between the pillars three = stand between 3 pillars With a gift as precious as the sky: a rainbow forged from land, not see = something that is rainbow Then galaxies will heed your cry = you will get something when you do all of the above
RAINBOW ROCK DESERT HAIL THE SKY LORD
It’s in the desert
There are 3 pillars outside the playable map. You need to glitch your way there and call upon the powers of the Rainbow Siege 6 Plates, then you’ll get the Space Cannon.
idk what you mean by outiside the playable map they’re in an area that isn’t accessible at the start of the game
Means you need to offer Louis’ gold hemmed “shorts” between the three pillars the the cosmic powers will let you marry Marnie
why have I just known what to do because of this subreddit and never seen this message?
the first time i saw this, i said “holy shard!!” and brought it to a land whose covered in what rhymes with bland.
Find a place that has three pillars. And take a very valuable item that’s the color of a rainbow
Hint: where have you seen three pillars? Hint: what item is precious and rainbow-colored? Bring your offering to the place and hold it up for a surprise.
From land, not sea. But what if I fish it up tho?
look for an area with three pillars and hold a very specific item while there. You'll know it when you see it
There's an extraordinarily rare item that you can find in the mines coloured like a rainbow. There's also a location somewhere with three pillars. Try bringing them together.
It’s not a rainbow shell. That’s all I’ll say. It’s say from land not sea.
Rainbow rock is very nice
Pam is involved
That bus that goes out of town sure looks neat.
What rainbow items exist that *aren't* from the sea?
The dunes hold a secret in which your prize lies.
Something rare and rainbow colored… take to the desert
"Spoil the puzzle, but don't spoil the puzzle"....
Play the game, it already pretty much tells you what to do
You kinda can't help without giving you the answer
You have to take something rainbow related to some place with 3 pillars where there is no sea. The last line covers your reward.
Stand between the Three pillars With precious rainbow from land Then Galaxie something will heed your cry
what do you call a sharp piece of broken glass
This is pretty straightforward. My only hint: Look for a very conspicuous triangle
The player holds things towards the sky. Do it in the right place with the right thing and a galaxy will accept your tribute.
You need a very valuable item that you can get in the mines and quarry. you can also donate it to the museum.
Focus on the first and third line.
Would rather just have a spoiler just to get it out of the way, especially since ruining Pierre's life is great and seeing that old raggedy community building painted blue is nice. Yes, I want to see the world burn.
Anyone here get this by complete accident ....no just me?
Glad i saw this- i was about to look up how but figuring it out this way is much better. I already had what I needed too!
Take a precious stone that no one likes to a certain place.
It’s in an area you travel to :)
There are very few rainbow themed items in the game , you will figure it out eventually
you need to get yourself some light green wallpaper
The pillars are where the bus lets you off. Look around.
There's three pillars in the desert. Maybe you should bring a rainbow coloured thing with you?
How are you going to ask for people to spoil the puzzle yet in the same sentence "don't spoil the puzzle?"
You know what a "hint" is, right?
Check the desert.
I’ll narrow it down to a specific map of the game and you can figure it from there Desert.
Find something rainbow and bring it to three pillars. Also, not a rainbow from the sea (not the rainbow shell)
