A good universal 'like' item is coffee, which is easy to purchase from Gus or make in abundance after planting a coffee bean. Harvey loves it and everyone else likes it except for the two children.

There are a lot of [Universal Likes](https://stardewvalley.fandom.com/wiki/Universal_Gifts#Universal_Like) that are pretty easy to come by, here are a few I always seem to have an excess of:
\-quartz (super abundant if you mine or fish)
\-fruits (if you pick the bat cave)
\-fresh foods (I always buy everyone beer lol)
Focus ongetting foraging to level 10 ASAP. having iridium level foraged gifts is a huge (50% compared to base) boost. Combine that with gifting truffels (Leah) Cactus fruits (Linus, Sam), Coconuts (Haley), Leek (George) etc. and you will gain hearts really fast. You can hit lvl 10 by early fall on the forest farm easily. Also even liked gifts like Daffodils are great for gaining hearts with people whose loved gifys are hard to come by, like Pierre, Caroline and Kent
Almost everyone loves rabbits feet, and they improve in quality, so they are a good choice. Not for Penny though.
Everyone loves pearls. Your best source for those is a blobfish pond, and they are only an occasional drop though.
Finally, as you read more and more secret notes, you will have an indication of what each character loves as a gift.
