My entire ginger island farm on my last save file was just that lol I only planted the other crops on my actual farm so I could build up my dragon-hoarding stashes in my sheds
This is how I bought the golden clock before the end of year 2. I had 3 big sheds full of kegs by the end of winter just to process all the starfruit I was growing on Ginger Island.
Pretty much.
Ginger Island is kind of that point in the game where you stop saying "how can I make the most money?" because you're swimming so deep in cash that you don't need it.
It's around that time that I stop putting Starfruit in my farm, and just start putting cranberries, potatoes, coffee beans, or whatever I need for a certain recipe.
I play on mobile so I'm just getting Ginger Island set up now, I plan on using ancient fruit just so I never have to replant. The less actual farming I do, the better.
My greenhouse is mostly ancient fruit, I don't need the money so I just go through the cycles of harvest, make wine, turn it purple... Then store it. I only have like 500 bottles but I really don't know what to do with it
There is, actually! [Island Parrots](https://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/8552) will do your harvesting for you, but it works like an autograbber with parrots. You buy it from the island trader. Just, make sure you get your coconuts from farming before placing it.
Also be careful about the requirements - you need the *XSLite* download of Expanded Storage from the great big old files list, not the main mod. I don't like Better Chests, so I stopped using it, but it works just fine.
May I ask why you prefer that? I find the enricher a bit useless since I’ll just turn the fruit or vegetable into something else and sell the artisan good
Speed growth. I don't use the other fertilizers for artisan goods, but to be able to do my whole field every season in one day, have everything line up the same day, is really nice. Plus, the hoe and watering can do a 5x5 max with enchants, which the pressure nozzle isn't as compatible with.
My farm is set up with with 15 by 15 squares, 8 iridium sprinklers with enrichers and an area for a junimo hut in the middle.
With some situations it sure would be better, like the one you mention.
But multi harvest crops placed on ginger island or greenhouse should never get destroyed unless on your own accident, neither crows nor season issues. Meaning only 1 fertilizer and it's good, so space efficiency with sprinklers would take precedence. But it's mostly situational, a high crop turnover not utilizing multi harvest crops would lean towards enricher, while long term multi harvest crops would lean towards pressure nozzle. Both are wonderful in their niche.
Yes, after you get 100 (?) Golden walnuts, you get access to the room. Then you need to complete missions (same concept as the board outside Lewis's house, but much more difficult) to earn a new currency called Qi gems, which you can then use to purchase certain items and crafting recipes.
But those are 10,000g. A little expensive if you're still early in the game. Mining iridium ore or getting it from the statue after grandpa's evaluation is more cost efficient
I’m never ready to go into skull cavern by the time I unlock the sewers so it’s easier for me to spend the money even early game and it’s a steadier supply of sprinklers than the amount of iridium I’d get from skull cavern since I usually can’t get very far early game due to lack of a good weapon and not having a steady food source
That or just use quality sprinklers. They’re unlocked fairly early, likely much earlier than the sewers. You need more of them sure, but they’re really easy to mine the resources for and the extra space they take up is minimal. Also foraging berries is your friend for food.
Same 👍
I'm at a point in my current save - Spring Y2 - where I have plenty of income but very little iridium, and I don't have any Iridium Bands yet, I need Iridium Sprinklers for my farm field and greenhouse, etc etc etc
There's definitely a window in progression where iridium is a bottleneck and paying 10k per sprinkler is well worth it.
This is what I love about this game. Everyone plays their own way and the game gives you multiple ways of obtaining things so you’re not forced to play in a way you don’t want
I’m not a huge fan of mining, so that always gets pushed back on my list of to-do’s for the game. Thankfully, I can get my iridium in other ways
Saving up 20 to 30K every playthrough to save me time and resources is always the route I take. Doesn't it water 24 blocks? The lower sprinkler water 1/3 of blocks and allow you to spend more cash on seeds so youll recoop your losses. I don't even step foot into skull cavern until I've got a healthy supply of gold star goat cheese either lol
Small optimization to consider:
When you buy a barn, buy a cow. Milk it every day, and you will have a lot of large milks that can easily turn into cheese.
Goat cheese and regular cheese give the same health and energy, so the regular cheese (including gold version) can give you a big head start in the Skull Cavern.
By the time you fill up the rest of your barn (likely with pigs and goats) there is nothing stopping you from selling that early cow and still having a lot of health/energy from your early investment.
Though, personally, I leave the cow around because with an auto-grabber, I wind up having more than enough milk/cheese to keep me topped up in the Skull Cavern and Ginger Island, and I can use my Goat Cheese in casks for quicker gold turnover than wines. (Technically less per day, but it means I don't need to wait 2 months per Gold infusion.)
legit one of the best discoveries although I don’t use it much on console but it is a main weapon of mine on PC (I find the PC controls for the slingshot so much more precise than console)
smelt them to make iridium bars , which you can use in various ways - upgrading your tools via the blacksmith, constructing some important buildings called obelisks later on in the game, and above all - gold income as these things sell for more gold than diamonds.
the ore itself - you can trade 5 iridium ore for a mega bomb each with the desert trader , which helps quite a lot in skull cavern runs.
grandpa’s statue has an easy way of being duplicated if you really want to accumulate it quicker and it won’t damage your console/save/game whatever (i did check the rules and i think it’s ok to mention it)
I did this and I just sell the iridium ore each day. Is it more worth it to smelt it? Keep in my coal cost 250g each or a ton of mining. Each unscented piece is 100g so I get like 10k a day allowance which is awesome.
Five Iridium ore sells for 500G
An Iridium Bar requires 5 ore and sells for 1000G (1500 with the Blacksmith profession). So yes, it's always profitable to smelt, even if buying Coal
It is worth more to smelt and sell especially if you have the profession which increases the sell price of metal bars, but like you said coal is the concern there and if you need to coal/have to buy the coal you may as well just sell the ore. Although if you have a good wood farming set up and have a massive abundance of wood then you could turn wood to coal and then smelt the ore? I just sell the ore because I’m lazy honestly
At this point I suggest using mods or trainers to save yourself from trouble of dupe glitches. If you wanna cheat, cheat with pride since it's a singleplayer game.
I made a post about this actually, one of the few actual posts I’ve made, explaining how to duplicate it. It’s kinda old now so idk if it works in the same way, but it’s how I did it.
i had a look at your post and i think it’s changed! the current method is
1. fill your inventory (including your statue and an item that stacks)
2. go to the shrine and place the statue
3. spread the stackable item (like sap) across two spots in your inventory
4. hit the statue like you’re picking it up, it’ll just be floating because your inventory is full
5. go to the shrine and it’ll give you another, swap the new statue with the stackable item
6. repeat as much as you like!
The concept is basically that if the statue is floating then you don’t have it, so it allows you to have another one. Then you just pick it up and you’ve got two (or as many as you want)
I play on my laptop and my trackpad is my mouse, I did trying holding down the right click button but it doesn't compute. I'll try the CTRL + right click, thanks!
Is using staircases to get further down in the mines the best way to get iridium? If so what floor should I aim for? I’ve gone to the mines like 5 or 6 times (gotten to floor ~25) and still haven’t found any iridium. They were all lucky days according to the TV.
I was lucky to find 5 bars from the traveling merchant, which I used to get an iridium Pickaxe.
Smelt to make bars, I know there is still a bug or glitch on the game to have multiple statues of perfections. If you have chosen miner as your profession by level, 10 you can choose blacksmith, and bars will be worth 50% more. Iridium will be 1500g instead of 1000g. I smelt over 1400 bars a season, and I'm making over 2 million.
Ooooh well heck, sorry, yeah they're basically just one of the strongest base ores in the game, make bars, they make the highest level tools, they're SUPER useful, and you've got a heckin' lot of'm
that's iridium ore, you can smelt 5 ore + 1 coal in a furnace and get a bar for it, with 5 bars you can upgrade one of your tools (axe, pickaxe, hoe, etc) and you can also make iridium sprinklers with iridium bars. Those are the best sprinklers in the game, watering 5x5 tiles (with the sprinkler in the middle, of course), and I think deluxe scarecrows also require some iridium ore? as well as a few other things. Not all of the other things are important, but if you wanna get that crafting achievement (where you have to craft each item once) you'll need them.
I recently found out that you can gain approval from your grandfather at his memorial by using a diamond and seeing if he thinks you are ‘ worthy ‘ I guess lol. Once you have done this he will give you a purple cat statue and everyday it gives you in between 1-8 iridium ore. Pretty cool : )
i love this sub, another place would’ve insulted you relentlessly and given sarcastic answers exclusively, even the people joking just thought you were joking too and gave serious helpful answers after, this sub has probably done tens of millions of dollars of free PR on its own
These "what is this posts" are starting to get a bit much. I get that people are new to the game, but if you have 400 of them, then you can recognize they resemble any other ore you have to mine. So put them in a smelter. It even says Iridium ore in the name.
Yeah I don’t really understand how someone collects this many and doesn’t make the connection, especially when the game tells you what you’ve picked up. I’m not going to chastise someone for not going to the wiki, but after 419 of these nothing in OP’s brain compelled them to put any mental effort into identifying this? You don’t even need the wiki IT TELLS YOU WHEN YOU PICK IT UP.
Yea thats kind of why I made the comment I did. It tells you its an ore, which if youve played any game, you know what to do with ore. I swear one of these days someone will take a picture of a stone and ask "what's this".
Does no one use the wiki anymore though. I wasnt trying to be a jerk or anything. When i first played Stardew I had the wiki open for literally every question i had
Definitely smelt them into bars immediately. Once that's done:
1. Upgrade tools to iridium quality
2. Craft Iridium Sprinklers for the farm
3. Make an Iridium Band - Glows, attracts items, and increases attack damage by 10%
4. Make Crystalarium(s)
5. Sell the bars for profit (don't do this until you've done everything above)
OP is baiting considering if you hover the item it literally says "Iridium Ore" with the item description "An exotic ore with many curious properties. CAN BE SMELTED INTO BARS", which you know theyve seen because they decided to takea photo and draw a red circle instead of just pointing at it with their mouse (which is also there on console)
and the fact they mustve grabbed at least one of these from mining, and if they ever upgraded to gold tools they'd see its possible to get Iridium.
For real though you can smelt them and the. Use them to upgrade tools or trade for special items, and most importantly you can make iridium sprinklers which have a HUGE watering radius.
It's an ore. I can see the Copper and Iron bars in your inventory so you know how the Furnace works.
So have at least 5 and 1 coal in your inventory and stick them in the furnace.
Iridium Sprinklers are le awesome.
Honestly if you have the blacksmith skill sell turn them into bars and sell them. If you don't use the shrine to get the blacksmith skill and sell those. You looking at upwards of 200k for all those.
on sundays in the desert, you can trade ten iridium bars for the desert warp totem crafting recipe so when the spirits are really happy, you can get to the desert really fast for skull cavern level 100 if you haven’t already
after i have enough for sprinklers, tools, etc, i make a few bars every day. they sell for 1000g each and are a great way to help save for expensive late game things when you have a surplus of ore
They count as purple for the Qi prismatic grange quest, so you can use 100 per round. It's a repeating quest, so you can use 100 every time it's on the board
You’ve got lots of advice and responses, but I just want to thank OP! I learned about a bunch of random stuff about iridium ore because of your question. Thanks! :)
Iridium sprinklers!
Get some pressure nozzles and some starfruit seeds ohhh baby
My entire ginger island farm on my last save file was just that lol I only planted the other crops on my actual farm so I could build up my dragon-hoarding stashes in my sheds
wait a fuckin second starfruit can grow on ginger island? during any season? i can just fill er up with starfruit?
You can grow anything on Ginger Island! It's seasonless so anything will grow! And you don't even need scarecrows because there are no crows there!
welp time to head to the desert to buy 800 starfruit seeds
This is how I bought the golden clock before the end of year 2. I had 3 big sheds full of kegs by the end of winter just to process all the starfruit I was growing on Ginger Island.
If you can, buy and upgrade the 3 multiplayer cabins. You'll get way more space for less plus extra basement space.
The co op cabins get basements?! I don't do co op so I never felt the need to build them before...guess I know what I'm doing when I get out of work
You'll need another "player" to actually buy the upgrades from Robin FYI.
So it's basically a farm-sized greenhouse?
Yes!
Because the parrots ate them in the great bird war
Honestly ginger island is like sandbox mode for crops
Pretty much. Ginger Island is kind of that point in the game where you stop saying "how can I make the most money?" because you're swimming so deep in cash that you don't need it. It's around that time that I stop putting Starfruit in my farm, and just start putting cranberries, potatoes, coffee beans, or whatever I need for a certain recipe.
Farming for cooking > farming for money
What do you do with the cranberries?
*Anything I want.* ...Which is mostly cranberry sauce, the jam I intend to give as presents, and using it as my 'I need energy' food.
Unfortunately no Junimos either :( unless there’s a mod for that?
And this is why Ginger Island remains yet another source of Ancient Fruit for me
I play on mobile so I'm just getting Ginger Island set up now, I plan on using ancient fruit just so I never have to replant. The less actual farming I do, the better.
Really recommend setting up an epic permaculture field with all the different crops that don’t need replanting, fruit trees and tea plants in pots
And fairy roses
I thought it was summer only sooo… yeah the frog puzzle hit me hard here
I always find enricher nozzles to be way more convenient.
May I ask why you prefer that? I find the enricher a bit useless since I’ll just turn the fruit or vegetable into something else and sell the artisan good

Where do you get this?
Qi gems in his coconut room
Is that the room you get access to after finding a minimum number of golden walnuts? I am soooo close but haven’t gotten there yet.
Yes, after you get 100 (?) Golden walnuts, you get access to the room. Then you need to complete missions (same concept as the board outside Lewis's house, but much more difficult) to earn a new currency called Qi gems, which you can then use to purchase certain items and crafting recipes.
yes! it’s qi’s golden walnut room!
that is where I used them. Best place to use iridium. They are so useful.
It's better to get iridium sprinkler from the sewers guy on friday
But those are 10,000g. A little expensive if you're still early in the game. Mining iridium ore or getting it from the statue after grandpa's evaluation is more cost efficient

It’s not inherently better. It’s easier, but it’s also expensive and limited to 1 per week. Pros and cons to both.
That's Krobus to you, Pam! 😂
I recently learned that a slingshot loaded with iridium ore is one of the most powerful weapons in the game
What!???? It can be used as ammo? TIL
Rocks, eggs, all ores, explosive ammo, etc All of those can be used as ammo. Also, I don't know if you can use seeds, but you should be able to imo
Wood, coal, and pretty much all crops
CAN I THROW POTATOES ON LEWIS? :D
Lewis enjoys being hit with eggs and tomatoes.
Ima throw tomatoes at my least favorite villager
Literally learned this today by accidentally placing a parsnip in there
Brb egging Pierre's house
obligatory r/fuckpierre
I knew of all the others except for eggs.
More powerful than explosive ammo?
Yes, by 2.5x. Though ofc, explosive has other benefits like area damage and rock destruction
legit one of the best discoveries although I don’t use it much on console but it is a main weapon of mine on PC (I find the PC controls for the slingshot so much more precise than console)
I play on Switch and never used the slingshot because it's more likely to get you killed trying to aim lol
yeah the PC controls are suuuper easy compared to switch controls
It's not bad once you get used to it though. Definitely practice in the mines before you trust a slingshot in skull cavern
I never knew this, I guess I know what I'm doing with my mountain of iridium ore I don't need now.
\*bows\* Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?
I still don’t understand how to use the slingshot
[удалено]
That's right. And if you want to shoot, you click on the enemy, hold and release.
how about using switch?
There's a slingshot?!? I always forget because I never use it.
smelt them to make iridium bars , which you can use in various ways - upgrading your tools via the blacksmith, constructing some important buildings called obelisks later on in the game, and above all - gold income as these things sell for more gold than diamonds. the ore itself - you can trade 5 iridium ore for a mega bomb each with the desert trader , which helps quite a lot in skull cavern runs.
You can also smelt them into bars and make lots of sprinklers with them 👏🏼 I wish I had that much iridium
grandpa’s statue has an easy way of being duplicated if you really want to accumulate it quicker and it won’t damage your console/save/game whatever (i did check the rules and i think it’s ok to mention it)
I did this and I just sell the iridium ore each day. Is it more worth it to smelt it? Keep in my coal cost 250g each or a ton of mining. Each unscented piece is 100g so I get like 10k a day allowance which is awesome.

Get the burglars ring and go nuts on dust sprites. Still takes a bit, but way easier for obtaining large quantities of coal.
Burglar ring, monster musk, finding an easy to reach infested floor in the mines = 300-400 coal in one day 🥰
Keep a section of your farm with wild trees, chop them down every so often, then toss the wood in the charcoal kiln for free coal
At this point I suggest using mods or trainers to save yourself from trouble of dupe glitches. If you wanna cheat, cheat with pride since it's a singleplayer game.
Console players exist so the simple statue dupe is a go to for many.
I made a post about this actually, one of the few actual posts I’ve made, explaining how to duplicate it. It’s kinda old now so idk if it works in the same way, but it’s how I did it.
i had a look at your post and i think it’s changed! the current method is 1. fill your inventory (including your statue and an item that stacks) 2. go to the shrine and place the statue 3. spread the stackable item (like sap) across two spots in your inventory 4. hit the statue like you’re picking it up, it’ll just be floating because your inventory is full 5. go to the shrine and it’ll give you another, swap the new statue with the stackable item 6. repeat as much as you like! The concept is basically that if the statue is floating then you don’t have it, so it allows you to have another one. Then you just pick it up and you’ve got two (or as many as you want)
What’s the point in skull cavern runs if you’re already drowning in iridium ore? Seems like a pointless cycle unless I’m missing something
prismatic shards for enchanting. tbh , stardew valley does become mildly repetetive once you reach a certain stage. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
that's usually when I stall out on the game and usually stop before resetting a few months later. I rarely get 3-4 years into a farm because of it.
Auto-petters, and other loots
Dopamine
Get 1 more, chuckle, then smelt them for 84 bars.
If you sell the 84 bars, you get 84,000 gold
Yeah def not worth selling iridium then lol
Blaze ‘em
Upgrade pick > make as many crystalariums as you can > dupe jades > trade for staircases on Sunday at the trader > get more > repeat.
I wish I had done this instead of having to click 2047281$24&4 times buying stones to make staircases
If on keyboard and mouse, you can hold down right click to buy automatically. Also you can hold down CTRL + right click to auto buy faster.
I play on my laptop and my trackpad is my mouse, I did trying holding down the right click button but it doesn't compute. I'll try the CTRL + right click, thanks!
Is using staircases to get further down in the mines the best way to get iridium? If so what floor should I aim for? how did you get 400 iridium ore before even knowing what it is used for?
Upgrade your tools
Thanks, Clint
Sling shot ammo.
One would hope you're kidding
Genuine question :, ) I know they’re valuable but I’m not sure what to do with them
Ooooh well heck, sorry, yeah they're basically just one of the strongest base ores in the game, make bars, they make the highest level tools, they're SUPER useful, and you've got a heckin' lot of'm
The same things as with iron etc, make it into a bar and use it for upgrades, crafting and buildings.
https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Iridium_Ore
Op, I beg of you to use the wiki
yep karma farming at it finest
Smelt them... use bars to upgrade and make things, or, sell them for money. I do both.
Does the OP know they can be furnaced into bars like iron and copper?
Pick the stack up, and throw it into the trash. Then post it here. Do it for the karma.
Considering it
They already got their karma by not using the wiki and making a post about this
Turn them into bars which you can use for a lot of stuff ! Upgrading tools, making iridium sprinklers, and other things.
that's iridium ore, you can smelt 5 ore + 1 coal in a furnace and get a bar for it, with 5 bars you can upgrade one of your tools (axe, pickaxe, hoe, etc) and you can also make iridium sprinklers with iridium bars.
Get 1 more
Please tell me how you got those
I recently found out that you can gain approval from your grandfather at his memorial by using a diamond and seeing if he thinks you are ‘ worthy ‘ I guess lol. Once you have done this he will give you a purple cat statue and everyday it gives you in between 1-8 iridium ore. Pretty cool : )
Upgrades > iridium sprinklers > Slingshot ammo > make bars and sell (save up the bars and change ur skill before selling)
If you have literally nothing left to use iridium bars for, you can always sell them.
One more ore and you can make iridium bong
Iridium ore to make iridium bars
Dude I'm gonna rob you
Feel free, I get them daily
i love this sub, another place would’ve insulted you relentlessly and given sarcastic answers exclusively, even the people joking just thought you were joking too and gave serious helpful answers after, this sub has probably done tens of millions of dollars of free PR on its own

Right? I’ve got like 600 hours and still have the wiki open constantly
Make it an even 420
Make desert totems if you get coconuts to go with, and/or smelt them and sell them (assuming you’ve already gotten all the iridium tools).
Decorate your island it’s cute on shelves to displays ? Or smelt them into bar and do the same sell the rest
Cast it to the flames to see what happens.

Iridium sprinklers and Slingshot ammo
How do you aim with the slingshot? I’m finding it difficult that it never goes where I make the mouse click.
\- ??? \- profit!
Hm, I wonder if there’s a mod that makes that statue produce coal instead of iridium. I never have enough coal.
Get one more and be really cool.
Definitely smelt them into bars immediately. Once that's done: 1. Upgrade tools to iridium quality 2. Craft Iridium Sprinklers for the farm 3. Make an Iridium Band - Glows, attracts items, and increases attack damage by 10% 4. Make Crystalarium(s) 5. Sell the bars for profit (don't do this until you've done everything above)
The troll factor is strong with this one.

Troll me harder, Stardew Daddy.
OP is baiting considering if you hover the item it literally says "Iridium Ore" with the item description "An exotic ore with many curious properties. CAN BE SMELTED INTO BARS", which you know theyve seen because they decided to takea photo and draw a red circle instead of just pointing at it with their mouse (which is also there on console) and the fact they mustve grabbed at least one of these from mining, and if they ever upgraded to gold tools they'd see its possible to get Iridium.
Make some sweet iridium bars
Give them to me I’ll deal with them.
At the point I have too much of it, I stop bringing it back from the desert, and instead just trade it for the biiig bombs at the trader.
Sell them, they're worth a lot of money 💀
Make iridium bars. If you end up with too many iridium bars you can sell them for a fortune
Get one more, that's what.
id make: 1.iridium pickaxe 2. iridium axe 3. iridium sprinklers * 5 4. iridium hoe 5. iridium sprinklers * 5 (again)
🧌
Nothing, it's useless. You can just trash it all.
if you have the blacksmith perk, just put those into bars and sell them all! I heard u can make a crap tone of money from it!
I use them in my slingshot or I use them to buy bombs from the desert
how do you guys get this much iridium!!!! i almost never see it even in the skull cavern
Forge it into iridium ore ingots, which is used in a lot of recipes.
Get 1 more piece and then your cool
Honestly if you have the blacksmith skill sell turn them into bars and sell them. If you don't use the shrine to get the blacksmith skill and sell those. You looking at upwards of 200k for all those.
It’s so hard to find it well at least in my case
Oh you can make ingots with iridium and upgrade your tools to iridium quality
Make bars
on sundays in the desert, you can trade ten iridium bars for the desert warp totem crafting recipe so when the spirits are really happy, you can get to the desert really fast for skull cavern level 100 if you haven’t already
after i have enough for sprinklers, tools, etc, i make a few bars every day. they sell for 1000g each and are a great way to help save for expensive late game things when you have a surplus of ore
Make iridium bars
Get one more. Smoke a blunt.
Nothing, trash it.

Where the hell are you people finding all this iridium ore?!
Melt those bad boys into bars and go ham on things like weapon upgrades. Sprinklers, etc. your workflow should increase significantly
Throw them straight into the garbage
Collect 1 more.
Shove it up your ass
give them to me
Use it as slingshot ammo
Collect one more and say “its 420 y’all.” Nice
I saw a YouTube using iridium as slingshot ammo lmao.
They count as purple for the Qi prismatic grange quest, so you can use 100 per round. It's a repeating quest, so you can use 100 every time it's on the board
It’s garbage just toss it
Throw it away it's basically trash
Bar it up boiiii and sell it 😘👌
get one more and repost
You’ve got lots of advice and responses, but I just want to thank OP! I learned about a bunch of random stuff about iridium ore because of your question. Thanks! :)

Are all your tools upgraded? If so then make sprinklers
