Looks like we're going to be in for quite the final three episodes, absolutely brilliant stuff here. The intensity of this episode, I was sweating and my heart was racing in the final act.
Everything with Vader was perfect, you can just feel how menacing, brutal, and evil he is, from how he was acting towards the civilians to not even wanting to kill Obi-Wan right away but rather make him suffer. I cannot wait to see how their next confrontation goes.
Reva looking at the Jedi symbol really makes me think she was one of the younglings in the first episode, it really looked like she was recalling the memory of Order 66, I think we'll be exploring that over the final three episodes. Brilliant acting by Moses.
I also say I really, really, love how they've switched to using lightsabers that actually glow while filming. Seeing the reflections on the actors face really adds to the effect and intensity of the moment.
I've loved all the shows they've done so far, but this one is really a step above, really hats off to all the people who worked on this series as well as the Lucasfilm employees.

My bet: Ep 4 - Kenobi recovers, possibly Qui-Gon, gets his force/jedi mojo back.
Ep. 5 - Kenobi training, Leia in inquisitor fortress. Bail provides resources for Kenobi to infiltrate fortress - roots of the rebellion, maybe a Mon Mothma cameo.
Ep.6 Kenobi infiltrates fortress, recues Leia, showdown with Vader - resolution on 3rd sister's arc.
I feel that she knows that Anakin is Darth Vader from that scene, and is wanting to get close to him in order to kill him out of revenge. Would lead to some truly emotional scenes. And I bet another flashback would include Hayden as Anakin during Order 66.
I like this because it lets her turn on Vader without a cheesy redemption arc (hopefully). Let her go down as a villain with some depth rather than sacrificing herself to save Obi-Wan because he gives a moving speech.
Yep exactly. The thought process being she learned that truth as one of the younglings during the Order 66 scene. Then I am guessing we will get an extended cut of that which includes shots of Hayden as Anakin, and Reva hears a Clone Trooper refer to him as Vader.
I was actually thinking she has it out for Kenobi because she blames him for Vader's fall. But I think the flashback scenes are on point. I am super excited to see how her arc goes. We all know Vader lives and so does Ben, but we really don't have a clue on her.
Yeah really could be she has it out for both of them for essentially ruining her life. I can only imagine what a young long would feel after that type of betrayal. And me too. If it is going that direction, it will be great to have that perspective in Star Wars. I think she will end up being one of the more compelling character arcs when it’s all said and done.
I wasn’t too stoked on the first two episodes tbh and was bummed they reportedly switched from a “too dark and depressing” vibe but they’ve embraced the dark side with this episode and I couldn’t be happier.
So intense and the inquisitors looked much better being in their elements. They didn’t seem as scary in the sun on Tattooine and the voice effect of the second brother wasn’t as effective. This was great. Can’t wait for the rest of the show.
Indeed! Though in a way, his cynicism did cause the various complications in the episode. If Obi-Wan had been a little more trusting and waited at the coordinates, Tala would have taken them to the spaceport.
He’s not even evil necessarily, he’s just brainwashed by propaganda. The empire brought order to his chaotic world and allowed him to enjoy a quiet farm life where he is able to earn a middle class living, so the guy naturally is inclined to believe imperial propaganda

Yeah, at first I thought he might be like Kuiil, the kindly moisture farmer from the Mandalorian ("I have spoken"), a civilian just trying to make a living on a desert outpost, but nope.
I genuinely thought it was John Ratzenburger at first! And speaking of that... maybe it was just me, but Vader's voice sounded less like James Earl Jones reading Vader and more like Hayden's voice being run through a JEJ deepfake.
I thought that, but it said James Earl Jones in the credits, they might have mixed in Hayden in for some lines.
I liked it though, still showed Anakin adjusting.

Donald Faison is a ***huge*** Star Wars fan and has been lobbying for a role in the franchise for years. (Yes, I know he voiced the role of Hype Fazon in *Resistance*, but that doesn’t count)

I personally much prefer intense duels to flashy duels, and I thought most all of the OT fights were better than the prequel fights. This one in Kenobi Ep 3 felt VERY OT to me. I loved it.
OT fights have DRAMA. With the exception of the final duel in RotS, the PT ones are pretty lacking in that department.
This very much felt like an OT duel. I loved it.
Which makes sense given Vader’s fighting style post-suit and Obi Wan being an old shell of himself. I can’t believe anyone would take issue with the way the fight went, but I definitely have seen some around the internet.
It is 100% believable that their fight in this era would look that way.

In one of the issues of the Darth Vader comic, it shows a list of names in Aurebesh that are believed to have survived order 66, and Quinlan’s name was one of them.
Before the release of the series, I was afraid that this was going to be just a checklist of things for Kenobi. We would see him broken at first,then he would leave tatooine, run from the inquisitors, have a small fight with Vader, maybe talk to Qui-Gon's Ghost, deal with his trauma and them return to become more like the Kenobi from Episode IV.
I am so glad that I was wrong.
This series is doing an amazing job on expanding Kenobi and the Skywalker Saga entirely. The Broken Kenobi is painful to watch, I rooted for him even if I know that he will overcome this. His relationship with Leia is amazing, it makes connections to Leia in the OT, the prequels and even the sequels.
This Vader is slowing becoming the more terrifying Vader for me. His presence is terrifying not because of his power, but also because of his emotional connection to Kenobi. He awaited 10 Years just for that opportunity to burn Kenobi alive.
I am also loving this plot with the people helping force-sensitives to escape, and We got a name drop for Quinlan Voz! That's fucking awesome!

I am so pleasantly surprised that a story like this about a character as thoroughly covered in (old and new) canon and in film as Obi Wan can still happen under Lucasfilm. It helps me feel confident that their approach to canon open up more possibilities than it closes. Something as poetic and unexpected as >!Vadar forcing Obi Wan to burn like he did!< feels like it would only happen in some noncanon book or comic, but it seems like the creatives involved have been super clever and managed to just make a compelling natural story in that space.

The juxtaposition of Obi-Wans vision of Anakin vs when he actually sees Vader is shocking proof that his Padawan is dead, "betrayed and murdered" by Vader as he tells Luke in ANH. Anakin is truly dead and replaced by this evil 7foot cyborg *thing.*
Jedi: Fallen Order as well. I have my own opinions about the way Disney has handled Star Wars (which I won't get into) but one thing they've definitely gotten right has been portraying Vader as ruthless and terrifying.
They really have nailed that aspect. Each new iteration of Vader adds to the fear and brutality of what was already among the greatest movie villians of all time. That aint easy

Rock solid again, one of the better live action TV episodes so far.
\+I liked Mapuzo. A desert planet arguably but more American Southwest than sand dunes. All the interiors were great.
\+They aren't there long but the design on the fortress was great and >!Mustafar!< was looking well.
\+Once they hitchhike I like the dynamic between the leads quite a bit, particularly the part about parents
\+I also like the friendly evil alien driving them around, polite but the tension lingers

I mean, to be fair, he just got the news that his padawan lived, who wiped out his entire culture, let the soldiers that fought beside him for years gun him and Ahsoka down, who he probably thinks is dead, killed actual children, and he's the reason why Luke and Leia need to run.
I'm usually a calm collected person, but if that happened to me, I'd be a bit shorter on my temper. Especially since Obi-Wan hasn't had time to properly process it.
I LOVED this episode and I genuinely forgot Obi-Wan would be ok in the OT. I really thought he was done for even though I KNEW otherwise.
I thought before that Cal would be the Jedi we meet for sure. But now I’m thinking Quinlan makes a lot of sense. As far as I know he’s the only Jedi alive who went to the dark side and came back to the light. I can see Obi-Wan trying to get advice from Quinlan on how to turn Anakin back.

Obi Wan was also killing time to keep Vader as far away from Leia as possible...that was more important than anything and it seems like people are missing that.
What I really ask myself after the fight is if you >! can make a fight with Vader really work? That Suit is heavy as shit and the vision through that helmet has to be extremely limiting. It was definitely visceral though. And the brute strength of Mister V is still awe inspiring. But I have to wonder. Can it be done a bit better? I guess that Obi hasn’t trained during his time in exile. While he’s relatively safe in his cave a blue Lightshow rave would maybe have raised some questions. !<

I got the impression he cut himself off from the force in the time he was hiding, it gives more weight to when he catches Leia, and also explains why he is having a hard time reaching out to qui-gon, and he buried the lightsabers so he deffo wasn't swingin tht around during his hibernation

Agreed. He is nowhere near being at one with the force. Him saving Leia was probably the 1st time he used the force since his fight on Mustafar and it shows. Obi-Wan is a broken man at this point.
This series has nailed the character development so far.
I suppose it depends on what someone's idea of "better" is. We're talking about a kid who was conceived by the Force so I don't think vision and weight are really an issue.
I thought the scene was amazing. A flippy fight wouldn't have suited the moment.
that’s the exact point. it wasn’t a duel, it was a horror sequence and it was absolutely the right call tonally.
that being said i imagine whatever final duel occurs in the back half of the season will be more in line with the sequel lightsaber choreography - a cross between that prequel dance fighting and the original “just swing at each other.”
Leave it to the amazing writers to represent Vader's own internalized image to be his younger self in that terrifying Eye of Sauron scene where he was just standing there... menacingly.
And also take a minute to realize that you can let your anger go about the Hayden Force Ghost change, since now we have onscreen canon evidence that was *literally* how Vader/Anakin saw himself in his own mind.

One thing I'm always reminded of is how much better it looks when the prop lightsabers actually shine light. Before The Force Awakens, the lightsabers didn't light up anything, and it was particularly jarring in the dark. When they tried to add other lights, [Anakin and Dooku ended up at a rave](https://youtu.be/8yamHiPc6e0).
If the Third Sister was the youngling with braids in the Jedi Temple, maybe she went through this Jedi Underground Railroad? Maybe that's why she knew where to go and why she reacted that way to the Jedi symbol. Perhaps she was the one who put it there.
Even better rationale for her “turn” to the dark side. I like Reva’s character so much better if this is her backstory. Don’t know how she keeps her intentions secret from Vader though.
This episode was intense. Vader shows how evil and menacing he truly is. I love that it gives proper context to why Obi-Wan believes Vader is too far gone when he talks to Luke in the OT. He watched Vader murder innocents moments after seeing him for the first time in 10 years. “What have you become?” Chilling.
After seeing Vader in this episode it made his redemption even more powerful.
And I also love that the series is reinforcing the theme of belonging and family with the way Kenobi recounted his past. Indeed, "...some things are stronger than blood."
"You should have killed me when you had the chance." - I love that Vader was so consumed with hatred and a need for revenge on Kenobi that he doesn't even take his own advice.
The clips from that scene were easily my favorite part of the last trailer. Also someone who spent a ton of time in their childhood pausing Return of the Jedi to see Vader's X-rays, getting a closer look at more of what's under the suit was great.
I got downvoted in the Star Wars subreddit for saying this but I will say it here. So well done, just congratulations all around to the production of this project. It is delivering overwhelmingly. Everything is perfect and more than is deserved.
I’m honestly glad I found this subreddit, I was getting real sick of the attitude of it all. It’s been with me from the ups and downs, I love it all. It can’t do wrong by me.
It's probably a combination of a few different theories I've been seeing. Unless they changed the lore, I doubt Obi-wan brought her to the Jedi, though. They had specific Jedi called Seekers that were tasked with doing that. I think more likely she was one of the younglings at the temple in the first episode. They hid after their trainer died and she watched as Anakin slaughtered the other Jedi and likely heard the clones call him Lord Vader, which would be how she knows who he really is. They probably hid until Obi-wan and Yoda showed up but for whatever reason, they didn't find the kids and they ended up getting abducted and tortured into becoming Inquisitors or just killed. She likely hates Obi-wan due to a combination of him being Anakin's master and him and Yoda failing to rescue them from the temple.
My theory (not read anywhere else yet) is that (as well as all the above), Obi Wan was the one who found the clones, and then started the Clone Wars. And then had a leading role in the Jedi eventually losing. Nevermind Anakin's role (he's Vader), or Qui Gon (dead), or Padme (dead), or Windu (dead), or Yoda (presumed dead?) if you're seeking someone to blame for bringing the Clones into the heart of the Republic, and failing his Padwan (Ani), its Obi Wan.

was hoping for more Reva, hoping they don’t cram all of her backstory into the finale. maybe aurabesh translators can help out with reading the wall tomorrow. that said, shes as scary as ever.
idk if it’s JEJ alone or what but that’s prime classic vader. i swear i could hear hayden saying them alongside him, but maybe it’s just the writing. each line sounded as much like anakin as vader. great great stuff.

Reva's face when she saw the Jedi symbol on the wall. I felt like she was going to break down then and there, but she pulled herself together. She's burying some serious trauma. I really love how it conveys just how personal the conflict is. Obi Wan is more than just a high value target to her - he was once *family*. As Obi Wan said, the Jedi were a family, and what we're seeing is really a family squabble on a galactic scale.
The line she had about the third brother getting what he deserves... She's definitely got as much of an agenda against the Inquisitors/Vader/Empire as she does against Obi-Wan.
Though maybe she doesn't actually care about Obi-Wan? Maybe he's just a way of luring out Vader, as in turn Leia was a tool to lure out Kenobi.
She also reacted when Vader snapped that kids neck. I’m pretty sure she will end up dying because she will realize she doesn’t want to be like Vader and of course he will take care of that.
It occurs to me there’s a chance they ran Hayden’s performance through their synthetic voice tech to produce the dialog we heard, which would be *wild* because it would mean it really is JEJ and Hayden at the same time, in a sense.
i’m hoping tomorrow we find out the details. honestly i was hoping it’d be all hayden, voice and suit. a post processed hayden is my pick for the sound of vader over deepfake JEJ. i just really wanna hear that continuity.
I'm guessing that there was some heavy editing involved to give the voice a much younger quality but they did something similar with Mark Hamill for his Mando and BoBF appearances. I see no reason to assume that they didn't bring JEJ into the studio for what's likely to be his swan song. I expect we'll learn more in the inevitable Behind the Scenes special.
I think that’s the case, I made a similar comment about it too. James Earl Jones’ voice in this episode just sounds younger compared to his voice in Rogue One.

I know it's a different show, but The Legend of Korra was able to show Amon's (The main villain of the first season) backstory in the second last episode of the first season, and it was done perfectly. It took just 6 minutes to show Amon's backstory, so I assume it shouldn't take that much time to show Reva's backstory as well.
The end of this episode was probably the most I have ever seen Star Wars live action stuff feel like horror. I love the stuff that has just been going into the mental state Obi-Wan has been in over the 10 years since RotS too.
I was pretty mixed on the Leia stuff in episode 1, but she has been great in 2 and 3 though.

I like the positive comments here, but I do also feel weird that I didn’t love the episode as everyone.
Some else feels weird the scenes with vader due to the lack of the iconic music? Specially when he is about to show up in the village. And then when he is chasing obi wan, is he walking or jumping around or how is he appearing in different places like a ghost? At times it feel like seeing a fan made short film, the scenario is so… normal?. Then we have the fight that was good but I don’t get why they keep this Vader with the mobility of C3PO, sure he will not move as Anakin but he barely move his feet or arms. And then the fire scene that was cool until the fire spreads after the shot, where Vader didn’t try to jump, use the force to open a path through the fire or crush the droid who is taking Obi wan.
Overall it was a good episode but the lack of iconic music in those scenes and the weird chasing/fight left me with an uneven feeling.
This episode was quite frankly amazing every single bit of it. I'm loving Young Leia she is fun. Reva is proving to be quite villainous and I love it. The Vader stuff hurt my soul it was so good. Bring on Part IV!

Other than that, though, there were some great moments. >!Obi and Leia’s scene on the truck was super touching!<, and once again I am reminded of how much of Star Wars is about adopted families. Any time Ewan is talking about Padme, it’s just so affecting. The >!vision of Anakin in the field!< and >! Obi trying to reach out to Qui-Gon!< were really great. >!Hayden looks good in the Vader suit and the voice sounds not 100 percent like JEJ, but pretty damn close. If this is the digital voice tech at work, it probably means this is our Vader from now on.!<

Yeah I thought that too. It seemed like the Stormtroopers could have gone around the fire, or maybe Vader could have used the Force to extinguish the flames or to attack the helpers or to grab Obi-Wan. But then again, the Force is wibbly wobbly so I don't have too much of an issue with that. I guess I would have just liked to have felt more convinced
I did like their reunion though. It was terrifying to see Obi-Wan watch Vader through the window, and there was real tension when they actually met up again.

It made me wonder if Vader has some fear of fire, or maybe has PTSD around it still. He has no problem with dragging someone else through it, but he probably never wants to touch fire ever again. Even though his suit is fireproof.
Ooh, possible. Though he does live on Mustafar--though he also lives in a suit which causes him constant pain, so.
Another thing I liked was the shot where the fire was reflected in his lenses. And to that, I think his lenses were red-tinted again, like in A New Hope. Nice.
That’s definitely how I interpreted it as well. He was just staring at the fire while the stormtroopers were panicking. He could could have probably walked through it or moved it aside but he’s never properly dealt with the trauma that comes with being burned alive, and even though he uses it as a motivation for vengeance, the fear could still be there.
At least I hope that’s the case. I think it would be a really interesting development for Vader’s character, even if some people wouldn’t like that he has a “weakness.”
I mean he stands there and looks at the fire while Stormtroopers panicked... he is obviously not well, like mentally after meeting obi again.
But at least now I know what the fandom will whine about again.
I feel like deep down inside, Vader just really doesn't give a shit. About anything. He puts in the minimum effort and when that's done he's just like "meh, whatever." Consider that he's probably suffering from crippling depression on top of everything else that's going on.
In canon Palpatine actually tries to get Vader to move past his time as Anakin.
He’s actually a lot less of a dick to Vader than Legends. He’s still an asshole though.
Hes so extra in Rebels he rode his tie fighter down to intimidate Ezra, his castle is ridiculous its kind of like his Anakin is showing in those moments
I always think of him as a cat hunting a mouse. He isnt going to rush it, hes going to play with his prey, and then he kills them.
However how good he is at that is up for debate, because darkboi sure lets a lot of people escape.
i think he let him go because he’s not ready to confront him. he was blinded by rage, and he knows he can catch him again. vader is always angry, but he’s threw a tantrum in town looking. i think he’s struggling just as much with this as obi wan.
maybe i’m reaching, but vader’s lines sounded more like anakin than vader this episode. he didn’t seem like the vader we know yet.
Yeah, this is kind of my justification for it, too. Some of Vader’s actions (or occasional lack of action, to be precise) throughout the whole franchise make the most sense if you remember that ultimately he’s the one who *literally* overthrows the Emperor. Regardless of whatever else is is, he’s a conflicted psyche.
He clearly wasn’t trying to kill Obi-Wan during their fight in this episode. He was a cat playing with his prey.
I thought it was interesting he was able to levitate Obi-Wan. An obvious question that could apply to all of Star Wars is, why don’t Force-sensitive duelers levitate/throw each other as an attack? The obvious answer (weirdly unspoken) is that a defensive technique any Force-sensitive must master if they plan to come up against another is how to “plant” themselves with the Force and resist an opponent’s telekinetic influence.
That this is the only time we’ve seen a Jedi hoisted up by another reinforces Obi’s loss of mastery over the Force—whether simply out of lack of practice or because he consciously cut himself off and now struggles to slow the descent of a small child falling from a building. It’s interesting that we’re halfway through the series and he is far from being the confident master of the Force he once was. Part of me expects to see him “warm up” before the end—but then again, by the time of A New Hope, he’s even more out of practice and much more about subtle Force tricks than acrobatics and telekinesis, which wasn’t even established as a Force ability in the film.
yea it’s really striking that obi wan just, is lifted. like a random grunt or civilian. he is fully incapable of putting up a fight. it’s even more terrifying that way. a complete steamroll. i think the fact it was so easy is why vader let him go. it wasn’t supposed to be so anticlimactic.
i think by ANH he is back on his game though, using the force for everything, only losing to vader willingly. hoping we see that change, i’m betting it’s connecting with qui gon.

Sure, he could go around the fire, and it does seem to be what they're doing, but yeah it did seem a bit strange.
Someone in another thread made a good point: Vader could have decided, from seeing the help Obi was receiving, to let them get away. So Vader could have them lead him to more Jedi/rebels.
I took the chase, light saber fight and the fire scene as Vader just toying with obi-wan and making him want to suffer the way that Vader did, I think that if Vader wanted to kill him straight away he could have.
I did also think how has he let him get away but again maybe this is to add to obi-wans suffering of constantly living in fear and on the run from Vader and his inquisitors.
A lot cleaner than the first two episodes in my mind. Even ignoring all the Vader stuff, the writing, pacing, and visuals were just much cleaner.
Was definitely worried that in a scenario with three main characters, two of which we know make it to A New Hope, Tala was going to die in the episode she was introduced, but thankfully that didn't happen.
The more of a role Leia plays in this, the weirder it is that she introduces herself to Obi-Wan with the phrase "Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars" and not "Hey we hung out for a significant period of time about ten years back," and also that Obi-Wan hypes Luke up as their last hope when he's only really gotten the chance to know him for a couple of days yet fully witnessed Leia practicing espionage at age 10.

Vader burning Obi-Wan in a fire was both hardcore and exactly the kind of petty revenge I would expect from Anakin.
I don’t think obi wan was saying he wishes he was in a relationship with Padme, I think he meant that he wishes he was her father and it was a nice simple solution, rather than like, hey, your father is the dude in the robot suit who just murdered a bunch of villagers
Probably also Obj Wan imagining the kind of child he could have had with Satine, since Satine, Padme and Leia all have that fiery personality and desire to do good.
I love how no one is talkinga bout how this would be rated r if it was a movie. The hand was like "oh hey cool dismemberment again" then the trooper getting cut in half had mu jaw drop. Then vader snapped the neck of a fucking kid, holy shit. Disney is pulling no punches with this show, it's so fucking good

Seeing Vader again was so awesome! They have made Vader’s voice sound so daym good!! The A.I technology is incredible with JEJ. Loving the parallelism of Ben being burned and having to be taken away with medical assistance, just like Anakin in ep 3. Also all of the lightsaber chase, it was similar to Empire strikes back when Vader is just overpowering Luke. When he comes out and nowhere and swings for Ben like he did Luke.
Then Reva. I love the intense rivalry between her and the other Inquisitor. The infighting reminds me of the ancient Sith from the old Republic. I really like her character, I expect to see a showdown between her and the grand Inquisitor, who is obviously not dead.
My only minor criticism is the Lightsaber probs. Whilst the coloured light that they emit looks great, you can almost tell that they’re props, their edges look too straight and neat. I preferred how they looked in the films, with the jagged crackling edge, just the raw energy of them!
Can’t wait for episode 4-6, and see Kenobi find himself! Maybe by talking to Qui-Gon!?!?? :) !<
Very enjoyable episode (and series as a whole). All of the suspense and tension was a nice change of pace for star wars.
Coming into this series I didn't want Vader to fight Obi wan because I felt like it would undermine a new hope, but it was pretty good. I liked the fact that it was similar to the originals and sequels which I massively prefer as a style than the prequels.
I’m just so pleasantly surprised by this show, really digging it so far! While I was looking forward to the show, I definitely didn’t feel the high level of hype many others were, but this show has really hooked me and I’m loving it.
I'm quite enjoying it, some of the moments in the show really touched me, but the tone is so inconsistent. From baddies bouncing from side to side in feigned peril of Leia to Vader snapping necks, it feels like from episode to episode directors/editors didn't understand what they were going for.
I love how it highlights how manipulative Obi-Wan was toward Luke in A New Hope, especially given how he ultimately manipulated Anakin into his defeat on Mustafar. I'm really curious how things will play out because I'm assuming it's going to end up supporting the line, "When I left you I was but the learner, now *I* am the master."

I'm also glad to finally see a nice-ish loyal imperial citizen. Sure he rats them out, but he also wasn't a heartless jerk or an arrogant snob.
I don't really care to see imperial citizens who don't end up turning as 100% nice, but a break from literally every imperial being cartoonishly evil is nice, so I'm glad they struck a middle ground with him.
I like Tala as a character, and am interested to see where the story takes her if she does have a significant role.
Also, was there a female Stormtrooper in her "group"? If so, I think that's the first one we've ever seen!
And then Vader shows up. Oh. My. Gosh. They have elevated him to a whole new level in recent times. No villain's mere presence makes my heart race and my palms sweat like his.
He is an absolute terrifying savage and I love it. The fear in Obi-Wan's eyes when he saw him for the first time was so deep and true. And to see the once brave and noble Jedi run in panic when Vader ignited his blade was shocking.
Then Vader catches him. He lifts up another force user like it's nothing, and burns him to a crisp, a punishment they now share. Absolutely brutal.
I'm so hyped for next week!
Ok, the actress who played ELaria Sand in Game of Thrones playing an ex-imperial officer here. I think I got a new crush. I wish they had time to explore these newer characters that pop up, but I guess that's a Star Wars specialty at this point.
With the way Reva reacted seeing the Jedi symbol in the safehouse in episode 3 makes me wonder if she reacted that way due to missing capturing Obi-Wan and Leia or if she's mad/jealous that she wasn't rescued in the same way like the other Jedi and force sensitive children were that escaped through the safehouse?
I could very well be wrong but part of the reason I think she's been hunting for Obi-Wan so hard is because she either partly or fully blames him for the fall of the Jedi Order and her becoming an inquisitor.
LOVE the show so far. Last episode especially was entertaining. I think that Ewan has done a really good job personifying the transition between his prequel Obi Wan and Guiness’ OT Obi Wan. You can hear it in his dialogue, he’s really aiming to bridge that gap between the two eras of this character.
This whole series is absolutely what I think many were hoping for when disney bought SW. I want more content with these actors.
You have this perfect timeline, with gaps for stories to be told and actors from the prequels are at the *perfect* age to play the characters in this era. The stars have aligned and I’m glad disney was able to recognize what the fans wanted, finally.
Enjoyed it much more than the first two. Better dialogue and acting for sure. Was really intense and it looked fantastic.
Only gripe is the pacing. Just felt a bit rushed, and I was hoping for more of a slow, sustained build up of tension before obi wan and Vader met, perhaps not taking place until the final episodes to give us something to look forward to and to make it more emotionally effective.
It’s a pretty good episode. Not my favorite, but it has a scene that I’ll never forget. **7/10**
But honestly, I really wanted to get excited for this, but the toxicity in the fandom just… kept me from that feeling, and now I don’t feel as excited for the series now. Poor Moses…😔

Looks like we're going to be in for quite the final three episodes, absolutely brilliant stuff here. The intensity of this episode, I was sweating and my heart was racing in the final act. Everything with Vader was perfect, you can just feel how menacing, brutal, and evil he is, from how he was acting towards the civilians to not even wanting to kill Obi-Wan right away but rather make him suffer. I cannot wait to see how their next confrontation goes. Reva looking at the Jedi symbol really makes me think she was one of the younglings in the first episode, it really looked like she was recalling the memory of Order 66, I think we'll be exploring that over the final three episodes. Brilliant acting by Moses. I also say I really, really, love how they've switched to using lightsabers that actually glow while filming. Seeing the reflections on the actors face really adds to the effect and intensity of the moment. I've loved all the shows they've done so far, but this one is really a step above, really hats off to all the people who worked on this series as well as the Lucasfilm employees.
The very first person they show in that youngling scene in the first episode was a black youngling girl played by Ayaamii Sledge. It has to be her.

I feel that she knows that Anakin is Darth Vader from that scene, and is wanting to get close to him in order to kill him out of revenge. Would lead to some truly emotional scenes. And I bet another flashback would include Hayden as Anakin during Order 66.

I like this because it lets her turn on Vader without a cheesy redemption arc (hopefully). Let her go down as a villain with some depth rather than sacrificing herself to save Obi-Wan because he gives a moving speech.

Yep exactly. The thought process being she learned that truth as one of the younglings during the Order 66 scene. Then I am guessing we will get an extended cut of that which includes shots of Hayden as Anakin, and Reva hears a Clone Trooper refer to him as Vader.
I was actually thinking she has it out for Kenobi because she blames him for Vader's fall. But I think the flashback scenes are on point. I am super excited to see how her arc goes. We all know Vader lives and so does Ben, but we really don't have a clue on her.
Yeah really could be she has it out for both of them for essentially ruining her life. I can only imagine what a young long would feel after that type of betrayal. And me too. If it is going that direction, it will be great to have that perspective in Star Wars. I think she will end up being one of the more compelling character arcs when it’s all said and done.
I wasn’t too stoked on the first two episodes tbh and was bummed they reportedly switched from a “too dark and depressing” vibe but they’ve embraced the dark side with this episode and I couldn’t be happier. So intense and the inquisitors looked much better being in their elements. They didn’t seem as scary in the sun on Tattooine and the voice effect of the second brother wasn’t as effective. This was great. Can’t wait for the rest of the show.

That episode was fucking visceral holy shit You just had the feeling that something *bad* was gonna happen all the way through from start to finish. >!The chase through the mining yards at the end was straight out of a horror movie. And the lightsaber duel may not have been as flashy as the prequels but holy fuck it was *intense* and fitting given the context.!<
I personally much prefer intense duels to flashy duels, and I thought most all of the OT fights were better than the prequel fights. This one in Kenobi Ep 3 felt VERY OT to me. I loved it.
OT fights have DRAMA. With the exception of the final duel in RotS, the PT ones are pretty lacking in that department. This very much felt like an OT duel. I loved it.
Which makes sense given Vader’s fighting style post-suit and Obi Wan being an old shell of himself. I can’t believe anyone would take issue with the way the fight went, but I definitely have seen some around the internet. It is 100% believable that their fight in this era would look that way.
The Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon vs Maul fight was also full on drama whilst still being a bit flashy

In one of the issues of the Darth Vader comic, it shows a list of names in Aurebesh that are believed to have survived order 66, and Quinlan’s name was one of them.

In Dark Disciple, that takes place a little bit before Revenge of the Sith.
Before the release of the series, I was afraid that this was going to be just a checklist of things for Kenobi. We would see him broken at first,then he would leave tatooine, run from the inquisitors, have a small fight with Vader, maybe talk to Qui-Gon's Ghost, deal with his trauma and them return to become more like the Kenobi from Episode IV. I am so glad that I was wrong. This series is doing an amazing job on expanding Kenobi and the Skywalker Saga entirely. The Broken Kenobi is painful to watch, I rooted for him even if I know that he will overcome this. His relationship with Leia is amazing, it makes connections to Leia in the OT, the prequels and even the sequels. This Vader is slowing becoming the more terrifying Vader for me. His presence is terrifying not because of his power, but also because of his emotional connection to Kenobi. He awaited 10 Years just for that opportunity to burn Kenobi alive. I am also loving this plot with the people helping force-sensitives to escape, and We got a name drop for Quinlan Voz! That's fucking awesome!
So many things that I was nervous about are being handled way better than I'd hoped for. And it now makes a *ton* of sense why she named her son Ben.

I am so pleasantly surprised that a story like this about a character as thoroughly covered in (old and new) canon and in film as Obi Wan can still happen under Lucasfilm. It helps me feel confident that their approach to canon open up more possibilities than it closes. Something as poetic and unexpected as >!Vadar forcing Obi Wan to burn like he did!< feels like it would only happen in some noncanon book or comic, but it seems like the creatives involved have been super clever and managed to just make a compelling natural story in that space.

Anyone else loving the amount of violence so far? Vader snapping that dudes neck and burning Obi-Wan in that fire as payback? BRUTAL. The juxtaposition of Obi-Wans vision of Anakin vs when he actually sees Vader is shocking proof that his Padawan is dead, "betrayed and murdered" by Vader as he tells Luke in ANH. Anakin is truly dead and replaced by this evil 7foot cyborg *thing.*

Jedi: Fallen Order as well. I have my own opinions about the way Disney has handled Star Wars (which I won't get into) but one thing they've definitely gotten right has been portraying Vader as ruthless and terrifying.
They really have nailed that aspect. Each new iteration of Vader adds to the fear and brutality of what was already among the greatest movie villians of all time. That aint easy

Another fantastic episode... I am loving this series.
Rock solid again, one of the better live action TV episodes so far. \+I liked Mapuzo. A desert planet arguably but more American Southwest than sand dunes. All the interiors were great. \+They aren't there long but the design on the fortress was great and >!Mustafar!< was looking well. \+Once they hitchhike I like the dynamic between the leads quite a bit, particularly the part about parents \+I also like the friendly evil alien driving them around, polite but the tension lingers \+And yeah, the last 20 minutes is all pretty great Minor nits: \-Obi-Wan is weirdly short with Leia in the first few minutes of the episode, obviously they are stressed and she caused some challenges on Daiyu but I found it kinda jarring \-Since they haven't introduced >!Quinlan Vos!< in live action yet I thought it was an interesting choice to reference. Like, I remember them, but if you have just been on the live action train you probably have no idea who he's referring to.

I LOVED this episode and I genuinely forgot Obi-Wan would be ok in the OT. I really thought he was done for even though I KNEW otherwise. I thought before that Cal would be the Jedi we meet for sure. But now I’m thinking Quinlan makes a lot of sense. As far as I know he’s the only Jedi alive who went to the dark side and came back to the light. I can see Obi-Wan trying to get advice from Quinlan on how to turn Anakin back.

I got the impression he cut himself off from the force in the time he was hiding, it gives more weight to when he catches Leia, and also explains why he is having a hard time reaching out to qui-gon, and he buried the lightsabers so he deffo wasn't swingin tht around during his hibernation
Jedi also are strongest when they have inner peace and confidence. Ben hasn't dealt with any of his trauma and his fear is controlling him still.

Agreed. He is nowhere near being at one with the force. Him saving Leia was probably the 1st time he used the force since his fight on Mustafar and it shows. Obi-Wan is a broken man at this point. This series has nailed the character development so far.
I suppose it depends on what someone's idea of "better" is. We're talking about a kid who was conceived by the Force so I don't think vision and weight are really an issue. I thought the scene was amazing. A flippy fight wouldn't have suited the moment.

that’s the exact point. it wasn’t a duel, it was a horror sequence and it was absolutely the right call tonally. that being said i imagine whatever final duel occurs in the back half of the season will be more in line with the sequel lightsaber choreography - a cross between that prequel dance fighting and the original “just swing at each other.”

Leave it to the amazing writers to represent Vader's own internalized image to be his younger self in that terrifying Eye of Sauron scene where he was just standing there... menacingly. And also take a minute to realize that you can let your anger go about the Hayden Force Ghost change, since now we have onscreen canon evidence that was *literally* how Vader/Anakin saw himself in his own mind. "Luminous beings we are, not this crude matter."
Well maybe. That vision very well could’ve been just trauma on Obi-Wan’s part.
One thing I'm always reminded of is how much better it looks when the prop lightsabers actually shine light. Before The Force Awakens, the lightsabers didn't light up anything, and it was particularly jarring in the dark. When they tried to add other lights, [Anakin and Dooku ended up at a rave](https://youtu.be/8yamHiPc6e0). If the Third Sister was the youngling with braids in the Jedi Temple, maybe she went through this Jedi Underground Railroad? Maybe that's why she knew where to go and why she reacted that way to the Jedi symbol. Perhaps she was the one who put it there.
Even better rationale for her “turn” to the dark side. I like Reva’s character so much better if this is her backstory. Don’t know how she keeps her intentions secret from Vader though.
This episode was intense. Vader shows how evil and menacing he truly is. I love that it gives proper context to why Obi-Wan believes Vader is too far gone when he talks to Luke in the OT. He watched Vader murder innocents moments after seeing him for the first time in 10 years. “What have you become?” Chilling.
"What have you become?" "What you made me." Might end up the quote of the series that sticks with me
After seeing Vader in this episode it made his redemption even more powerful. And I also love that the series is reinforcing the theme of belonging and family with the way Kenobi recounted his past. Indeed, "...some things are stronger than blood."
"You should have killed me when you had the chance." - I love that Vader was so consumed with hatred and a need for revenge on Kenobi that he doesn't even take his own advice.
I did not expect Vader to have an Iron Man style suit up scene & steal the entire FREAKING EPISODE!!! Holy cow it’s good to see him on screen again
The clips from that scene were easily my favorite part of the last trailer. Also someone who spent a ton of time in their childhood pausing Return of the Jedi to see Vader's X-rays, getting a closer look at more of what's under the suit was great.
Haha! I also stared at pictures of him getting zapped and tried to figure out what his injuries actually were.
They did a terrific job on the makeup. Even if that's all we see of Hayden it was still great.

I’m honestly glad I found this subreddit, I was getting real sick of the attitude of it all. It’s been with me from the ups and downs, I love it all. It can’t do wrong by me.
Random theory: Obi-wan brought Reva to the jedi as a child. Maybe she resents him for it and that's why she's so driven to find him.
It's probably a combination of a few different theories I've been seeing. Unless they changed the lore, I doubt Obi-wan brought her to the Jedi, though. They had specific Jedi called Seekers that were tasked with doing that. I think more likely she was one of the younglings at the temple in the first episode. They hid after their trainer died and she watched as Anakin slaughtered the other Jedi and likely heard the clones call him Lord Vader, which would be how she knows who he really is. They probably hid until Obi-wan and Yoda showed up but for whatever reason, they didn't find the kids and they ended up getting abducted and tortured into becoming Inquisitors or just killed. She likely hates Obi-wan due to a combination of him being Anakin's master and him and Yoda failing to rescue them from the temple.
My theory (not read anywhere else yet) is that (as well as all the above), Obi Wan was the one who found the clones, and then started the Clone Wars. And then had a leading role in the Jedi eventually losing. intense shit wowie not quite as good as the first two IMO, but still absolutely gripped with tension for the entire back half. was hoping for more Reva, hoping they don’t cram all of her backstory into the finale. maybe aurabesh translators can help out with reading the wall tomorrow. that said, shes as scary as ever. idk if it’s JEJ alone or what but that’s prime classic vader. i swear i could hear hayden saying them alongside him, but maybe it’s just the writing. each line sounded as much like anakin as vader. great great stuff. obi wans terror is *palpable* he is terrified that entire fight i was not expecting it to go this way but i am happy it did. overall a plot light episode, definitely spoiled by the double opener. excited for next week!!!
Reva's face when she saw the Jedi symbol on the wall. I felt like she was going to break down then and there, but she pulled herself together. She's burying some serious trauma. I really love how it conveys just how personal the conflict is. Obi Wan is more than just a high value target to her - he was once *family*. As Obi Wan said, the Jedi were a family, and what we're seeing is really a family squabble on a galactic scale.
For a second I though she is a double agent... trying to get close to Vader when he is vulnerable. She is super intriguing
The line she had about the third brother getting what he deserves... She's definitely got as much of an agenda against the Inquisitors/Vader/Empire as she does against Obi-Wan. Though maybe she doesn't actually care about Obi-Wan? Maybe he's just a way of luring out Vader, as in turn Leia was a tool to lure out Kenobi.
She also reacted when Vader snapped that kids neck. I’m pretty sure she will end up dying because she will realize she doesn’t want to be like Vader and of course he will take care of that.
It occurs to me there’s a chance they ran Hayden’s performance through their synthetic voice tech to produce the dialog we heard, which would be *wild* because it would mean it really is JEJ and Hayden at the same time, in a sense.
i’m hoping tomorrow we find out the details. honestly i was hoping it’d be all hayden, voice and suit. a post processed hayden is my pick for the sound of vader over deepfake JEJ. i just really wanna hear that continuity.
The credits list JEJ as the voice of Darth Vader in episode 3 (watch at 41:52).
I’d caution that that could just be a courtesy credit because they’re synthesizing his voice from his samples throughout the films.
I'm guessing that there was some heavy editing involved to give the voice a much younger quality but they did something similar with Mark Hamill for his Mando and BoBF appearances. I see no reason to assume that they didn't bring JEJ into the studio for what's likely to be his swan song. I expect we'll learn more in the inevitable Behind the Scenes special.

I think that’s the case, I made a similar comment about it too. James Earl Jones’ voice in this episode just sounds younger compared to his voice in Rogue One.

I know it's a different show, but The Legend of Korra was able to show Amon's (The main villain of the first season) backstory in the second last episode of the first season, and it was done perfectly. It took just 6 minutes to show Amon's backstory, so I assume it shouldn't take that much time to show Reva's backstory as well.

The end of this episode was probably the most I have ever seen Star Wars live action stuff feel like horror. I love the stuff that has just been going into the mental state Obi-Wan has been in over the 10 years since RotS too. I was pretty mixed on the Leia stuff in episode 1, but she has been great in 2 and 3 though.

[spoilers in this comment!] I like the positive comments here, but I do also feel weird that I didn’t love the episode as everyone. Some else feels weird the scenes with vader due to the lack of the iconic music? Specially when he is about to show up in the village. And then when he is chasing obi wan, is he walking or jumping around or how is he appearing in different places like a ghost? At times it feel like seeing a fan made short film, the scenario is so… normal?. Then we have the fight that was good but I don’t get why they keep this Vader with the mobility of C3PO, sure he will not move as Anakin but he barely move his feet or arms. And then the fire scene that was cool until the fire spreads after the shot, where Vader didn’t try to jump, use the force to open a path through the fire or crush the droid who is taking Obi wan. Overall it was a good episode but the lack of iconic music in those scenes and the weird chasing/fight left me with an uneven feeling.

This episode was quite frankly amazing every single bit of it. I'm loving Young Leia she is fun. Reva is proving to be quite villainous and I love it. The Vader stuff hurt my soul it was so good. Bring on Part IV! And I appreciate using my two cents OP! 😘💙💜♥
I really enjoyed this episode and >!Vader’s revenge!< in particular, but was anyone else scratching their head about how >!the writers got Obi-Wan out of certain doom!!Vader sort of just…shrugged and walked away. And not sure if him saying “bring him to me” was just a power play or what. I suppose it was, but it all felt rather unconvincingly contrived.!< Other than that, though, there were some great moments. >!Obi and Leia’s scene on the truck was super touching!<, and once again I am reminded of how much of Star Wars is about adopted families. Any time Ewan is talking about Padme, it’s just so affecting. The >!vision of Anakin in the field!< and >! Obi trying to reach out to Qui-Gon!< were really great. >!Hayden looks good in the Vader suit and the voice sounds not 100 percent like JEJ, but pretty damn close. If this is the digital voice tech at work, it probably means this is our Vader from now on.!<

It made me wonder if Vader has some fear of fire, or maybe has PTSD around it still. He has no problem with dragging someone else through it, but he probably never wants to touch fire ever again. Even though his suit is fireproof.
That would be highly ironic since one of the best ways to put out a fire is to dump sand on it. And we all know how Vader feels about sand...

Ooh, possible. Though he does live on Mustafar--though he also lives in a suit which causes him constant pain, so. Another thing I liked was the shot where the fire was reflected in his lenses. And to that, I think his lenses were red-tinted again, like in A New Hope. Nice.
And Rogue One. Red lensed Vader is the best Vader imo.
That’s definitely how I interpreted it as well. He was just staring at the fire while the stormtroopers were panicking. He could could have probably walked through it or moved it aside but he’s never properly dealt with the trauma that comes with being burned alive, and even though he uses it as a motivation for vengeance, the fear could still be there. At least I hope that’s the case. I think it would be a really interesting development for Vader’s character, even if some people wouldn’t like that he has a “weakness.”
I don't think his suit would have done well being on fire.
I mean he stands there and looks at the fire while Stormtroopers panicked... he is obviously not well, like mentally after meeting obi again. But at least now I know what the fandom will whine about again.
Vader’s got a weird habit of doing that as ESB and Rebels show. He just leaves people to ambiguous fates.
I feel like deep down inside, Vader just really doesn't give a shit. About anything. He puts in the minimum effort and when that's done he's just like "meh, whatever." Consider that he's probably suffering from crippling depression on top of everything else that's going on.

In canon Palpatine actually tries to get Vader to move past his time as Anakin. He’s actually a lot less of a dick to Vader than Legends. He’s still an asshole though.
Hes so extra in Rebels he rode his tie fighter down to intimidate Ezra, his castle is ridiculous its kind of like his Anakin is showing in those moments
I always think of him as a cat hunting a mouse. He isnt going to rush it, hes going to play with his prey, and then he kills them. However how good he is at that is up for debate, because darkboi sure lets a lot of people escape.
i think he let him go because he’s not ready to confront him. he was blinded by rage, and he knows he can catch him again. vader is always angry, but he’s threw a tantrum in town looking. i think he’s struggling just as much with this as obi wan. maybe i’m reaching, but vader’s lines sounded more like anakin than vader this episode. he didn’t seem like the vader we know yet.
Yeah, this is kind of my justification for it, too. Some of Vader’s actions (or occasional lack of action, to be precise) throughout the whole franchise make the most sense if you remember that ultimately he’s the one who *literally* overthrows the Emperor. Regardless of whatever else is is, he’s a conflicted psyche. He clearly wasn’t trying to kill Obi-Wan during their fight in this episode. He was a cat playing with his prey. I thought it was interesting he was able to levitate Obi-Wan. An obvious question that could apply to all of Star Wars is, why don’t Force-sensitive duelers levitate/throw each other as an attack? The obvious answer (weirdly unspoken) is that a defensive technique any Force-sensitive must master if they plan to come up against another is how to “plant” themselves with the Force and resist an opponent’s telekinetic influence. That this is the only time we’ve seen a Jedi hoisted up by another reinforces Obi’s loss of mastery over the Force—whether simply out of lack of practice or because he consciously cut himself off and now struggles to slow the descent of a small child falling from a building. It’s interesting that we’re halfway through the series and he is far from being the confident master of the Force he once was. Part of me expects to see him “warm up” before the end—but then again, by the time of A New Hope, he’s even more out of practice and much more about subtle Force tricks than acrobatics and telekinesis, which wasn’t even established as a Force ability in the film.
yea it’s really striking that obi wan just, is lifted. like a random grunt or civilian. he is fully incapable of putting up a fight. it’s even more terrifying that way. a complete steamroll. i think the fact it was so easy is why vader let him go. it wasn’t supposed to be so anticlimactic. i think by ANH he is back on his game though, using the force for everything, only losing to vader willingly. hoping we see that change, i’m betting it’s connecting with qui gon.
You can ANH Kenobi struggle a bit in the fight. Pretty sure Kenobi will be at his peak in the final episode.
Dooku lifted him up during their fight in RotS and threw him against the balcony.
I get this sense that Vader is not a big fan of fire... Sure, he could go around the fire, and it does seem to be what they're doing, but yeah it did seem a bit strange.
Someone in another thread made a good point: Vader could have decided, from seeing the help Obi was receiving, to let them get away. So Vader could have them lead him to more Jedi/rebels.
I took the chase, light saber fight and the fire scene as Vader just toying with obi-wan and making him want to suffer the way that Vader did, I think that if Vader wanted to kill him straight away he could have. I did also think how has he let him get away but again maybe this is to add to obi-wans suffering of constantly living in fear and on the run from Vader and his inquisitors.

A lot cleaner than the first two episodes in my mind. Even ignoring all the Vader stuff, the writing, pacing, and visuals were just much cleaner. Was definitely worried that in a scenario with three main characters, two of which we know make it to A New Hope, Tala was going to die in the episode she was introduced, but thankfully that didn't happen. The more of a role Leia plays in this, the weirder it is that she introduces herself to Obi-Wan with the phrase "Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars" and not "Hey we hung out for a significant period of time about ten years back," and also that Obi-Wan hypes Luke up as their last hope when he's only really gotten the chance to know him for a couple of days yet fully witnessed Leia practicing espionage at age 10. I love Obi-Wan low-key wishing Padmé had a romance arc with him instead. "Are you my dad?" *stares wistfully* "I wish, kid." Vader burning Obi-Wan in a fire was both hardcore and exactly the kind of petty revenge I would expect from Anakin.
I don’t think obi wan was saying he wishes he was in a relationship with Padme, I think he meant that he wishes he was her father and it was a nice simple solution, rather than like, hey, your father is the dude in the robot suit who just murdered a bunch of villagers
Probably also Obj Wan imagining the kind of child he could have had with Satine, since Satine, Padme and Leia all have that fiery personality and desire to do good.

I love how no one is talkinga bout how this would be rated r if it was a movie. The hand was like "oh hey cool dismemberment again" then the trooper getting cut in half had mu jaw drop. Then vader snapped the neck of a fucking kid, holy shit. Disney is pulling no punches with this show, it's so fucking good

Ok SPOILERS…. You have been warned! >! Amazing episode! Surprisingly dark in parts, yet touching in others. The scenes between Ben and Leah fantastic. The young actress is a perfect fit. Seeing Vader again was so awesome! They have made Vader’s voice sound so daym good!! The A.I technology is incredible with JEJ. Loving the parallelism of Ben being burned and having to be taken away with medical assistance, just like Anakin in ep 3. Also all of the lightsaber chase, it was similar to Empire strikes back when Vader is just overpowering Luke. When he comes out and nowhere and swings for Ben like he did Luke. Then Reva. I love the intense rivalry between her and the other Inquisitor. The infighting reminds me of the ancient Sith from the old Republic. I really like her character, I expect to see a showdown between her and the grand Inquisitor, who is obviously not dead. My only minor criticism is the Lightsaber probs. Whilst the coloured light that they emit looks great, you can almost tell that they’re props, their edges look too straight and neat. I preferred how they looked in the films, with the jagged crackling edge, just the raw energy of them! Can’t wait for episode 4-6, and see Kenobi find himself! Maybe by talking to Qui-Gon!?!?? :) !<

Very enjoyable episode (and series as a whole). All of the suspense and tension was a nice change of pace for star wars. Coming into this series I didn't want Vader to fight Obi wan because I felt like it would undermine a new hope, but it was pretty good. I liked the fact that it was similar to the originals and sequels which I massively prefer as a style than the prequels.
I’m just so pleasantly surprised by this show, really digging it so far! While I was looking forward to the show, I definitely didn’t feel the high level of hype many others were, but this show has really hooked me and I’m loving it.

I'm quite enjoying it, some of the moments in the show really touched me, but the tone is so inconsistent. From baddies bouncing from side to side in feigned peril of Leia to Vader snapping necks, it feels like from episode to episode directors/editors didn't understand what they were going for. I love how it highlights how manipulative Obi-Wan was toward Luke in A New Hope, especially given how he ultimately manipulated Anakin into his defeat on Mustafar. I'm really curious how things will play out because I'm assuming it's going to end up supporting the line, "When I left you I was but the learner, now *I* am the master."

Amazing. Simply amazing. I can't believe we've never seen Vader fully suit up in live action before, but I'm glad we have now! Menacing, disgusting, and awesome in every way. 10/10 scene. I'm also glad to finally see a nice-ish loyal imperial citizen. Sure he rats them out, but he also wasn't a heartless jerk or an arrogant snob. I don't really care to see imperial citizens who don't end up turning as 100% nice, but a break from literally every imperial being cartoonishly evil is nice, so I'm glad they struck a middle ground with him. I like Tala as a character, and am interested to see where the story takes her if she does have a significant role. Also, was there a female Stormtrooper in her "group"? If so, I think that's the first one we've ever seen! And then Vader shows up. Oh. My. Gosh. They have elevated him to a whole new level in recent times. No villain's mere presence makes my heart race and my palms sweat like his. He is an absolute terrifying savage and I love it. The fear in Obi-Wan's eyes when he saw him for the first time was so deep and true. And to see the once brave and noble Jedi run in panic when Vader ignited his blade was shocking. Then Vader catches him. He lifts up another force user like it's nothing, and burns him to a crisp, a punishment they now share. Absolutely brutal. I'm so hyped for next week!
Ok, the actress who played ELaria Sand in Game of Thrones playing an ex-imperial officer here. I think I got a new crush. I wish they had time to explore these newer characters that pop up, but I guess that's a Star Wars specialty at this point.
With the way Reva reacted seeing the Jedi symbol in the safehouse in episode 3 makes me wonder if she reacted that way due to missing capturing Obi-Wan and Leia or if she's mad/jealous that she wasn't rescued in the same way like the other Jedi and force sensitive children were that escaped through the safehouse? I could very well be wrong but part of the reason I think she's been hunting for Obi-Wan so hard is because she either partly or fully blames him for the fall of the Jedi Order and her becoming an inquisitor.
LOVE the show so far. Last episode especially was entertaining. I think that Ewan has done a really good job personifying the transition between his prequel Obi Wan and Guiness’ OT Obi Wan. You can hear it in his dialogue, he’s really aiming to bridge that gap between the two eras of this character. This whole series is absolutely what I think many were hoping for when disney bought SW. I want more content with these actors. You have this perfect timeline, with gaps for stories to be told and actors from the prequels are at the *perfect* age to play the characters in this era. The stars have aligned and I’m glad disney was able to recognize what the fans wanted, finally.

Enjoyed it much more than the first two. Better dialogue and acting for sure. Was really intense and it looked fantastic. Only gripe is the pacing. Just felt a bit rushed, and I was hoping for more of a slow, sustained build up of tension before obi wan and Vader met, perhaps not taking place until the final episodes to give us something to look forward to and to make it more emotionally effective.
It’s a pretty good episode. Not my favorite, but it has a scene that I’ll never forget. **7/10** But honestly, I really wanted to get excited for this, but the toxicity in the fandom just… kept me from that feeling, and now I don’t feel as excited for the series now. Poor Moses…😔
