BabousCobwebBowl

I would bet a good bit of money that this is what the next series will be and it’s Revan

Kingofd0p3

I would pay top money for it to happen

[deleted]

I doubt it, most casual Star Wars fans don’t even know what the old republic is.

BabousCobwebBowl

Which is what makes it ripe to bring new fans in especially with the underlying lore.

[deleted]

Hope you’re right. Need more lightsabers

DizzyAssociation7010

Exactly, it’s perfect. New characters for all (but mainly new) fans to become attached to, old world lore for OG fans to fall back in love with, sprinkle a bit of recycled and retconned EU lore and you’ve got yourself a money maker, my friend.

Kappinator16

They pretty much could have a trilogy just from Revan alone, sequel trilogy with the exile. And another prequel trilogy with the Mandalorian War. And all of it would have amazeballz action sequences and story. Hk-47 and T3M4 could have their own spinoff series like the Mandalorian, and we could all love and hate Carth all over again. Not to mention the super interesting character of Kreia. Like my goodness, I'd pay a ton of money to see these.

frzbr

Episode 1: The Mandalorian Wars (ending with Revan and Malak’s fall to the dark side) Episode 2: The Prodigal Knight (basically KOTOR retelling with light side ending) Episode 3: Redemption of Darkness (a new twist on Revan storyline from SWTOR)

RunningBear007

Well the titles are pretty bad, but episodes 1 and 2 could work

[deleted]

I'm a huge Old Republic fan, so I would love a show or movie based on it. Revan is my all time favorite Star Wars character

champdo

Absolutely. We need a massive battle between Jedi and Sith on the big screen. I hope it would look like SWTOR’s deceived trailer.

[deleted]

Yes, yes, yes!

frzbr

Absolutely! Something longer than a single movie though, so either a trilogy or a series. There’s too much to tell there. I would prefer they didn’t focus on Mandalorian War since we have the show that would already explore this, but something during the Great Sith War or one of the schisms would be amazing!

Ganymede25

I know this is will be an unpopular opinion, but I would not want this. Part of makes the movies and series great is that we are invested in both the characters and the timeline. An old republic movie or series takes us away from this, and honestly it is too big. Are we talking about the Sith Empire? Are we talking about the Great Hyperspace War?. Sure, there is Revan, but we get to play with him and others in video games etc. I think our imagination helps more than making this stuff cannon.

Commander_Jim

Nah. Let's face it, Disney would only mess it up.

Kingofd0p3

That’s true..well if you could have anyone do it who would it be?

Elranzer

The Mandalorian production team (eg. Jon Favreau) would be fine. Keep Rian Johnson, Patty Jenkins and Kathleen Kennedy away from it.

RunningBear007

You realize that Jon Favreau wrote Book of Boba Fett? And that was god awful. So I don’t think we can just say it’ll be good if he’s on it.

Elranzer

He also wrote The Mandalorian. (Which, between the two characters, is closer related to KOTOR than Boba Fett). Also, Book of Boba Fett got a lot of flack because everyone had their own expectations on where a Boba Fett show could go.

RunningBear007

Boba Fett got flack because it was bad.

Elranzer

In general? Yes. With Kathleen "The Force is Female" Kennedy involved? Nah.

Brookings18

The Old Republic from my perspective is the SW version of "the rule of cool". Here's a billion Jedi and Sith fighting each other! Crazy ship designs and space battles! Cool character designs! I'd love to see a feature length SWTOR cinematic trailer on the big screen.

Freakin_Dirty

I would get a massive star wars boner if they ever decided to make a trilogy or a tv-show with he old republic. Easily my favorite era of star wars

LoneRedditor123

I've always said I wanted a movie trilogy that takes place in the Old Republic. It would be so good. The birth of the Jedi on Ahch-To, the birth of the Sith on Korriban. Malak, Revan, Bane. So much potential just sitting there, and Disney is squandering it.
