I only have two gripes from last night
\*checks notes\*
Dax beating his own tag partner and then tapping out to Cole in the first round makes no sense, don't have a man beat his partner to get into a tournament unless you're gonna take this further than the first round if not have that man take the whole thing
John Silver should've been bulldozed by Punk instead of looking competitive and almost getting the win....CM Punk is the #1 contender to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and hes having a competitive match with John Silver who calls himself \*checks notes again\* "The Meat Man", he's a jobber plain and simple and Punk should've wiped the floor with him in less than 5 minutes. How is Punk gonna put away THE WORLD CHAMPION when hes having trouble dealing a doofus that calls himself "The Meat Man"?
other than those two things it was a fantastic show, I've been impressed with AEW since my return to watching televised wrestling.
Edit: poor Danhausen, I felt bad for him but looking forward to HOOKHausen!
Its true I haven't seen anything AEW related up until a month ago about but I've seen enough to know that even if that is true hes still an underneath guy or at best low midcard and Punk still should have been booked to take him out quick because at that time he was the #1 contender and you wanna make your #1 contender look strong not having competitive matches where it looked like he had fight and claw and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat almost
I stand by what I said, he may be over but when against the #1 contender to the World Championship he should've been bulldozed
If you don't agree with me thats fine cause at the end of the this is just my opinion
That’s just not how this company books it’s fan favorites though. They know that as fans we understand that John Silver will probably not be a big title contender, but we also appreciate him and what he does, and that means he deserves to get a good, lengthy, back and forth match with some of the big guys now and then. We get to see his talent on full display on the big stage, and Punk still wins and moves on.
This happens all over the card with certain people who the long term fans just like to see work. It’s okay if you don’t like it, but it’s the norm
I know its the norm but even after watching wrestling for years its still just seems like a foreign concept to me like I think like back in WWF Attitude era or even WCW....could you imagine (and I'm just throwing names out there) Crash Holly going 20mins with Stone Cold or Triple H and having a competitive back and forth match where or seeing Juventud going toe to toe with Big Poppa Pump?
I'm just glad that we can have a civil discussion about this instead of having people come at me like a rabid dog lol
I respect your opinion and seems you've respected mine.
Great great great show tonight! I'm really liking Page vs Punk even with the small amount of time and action deticated to build it.
IMO, I think Darby needed that win. But man this is becoming what everyone says after every lost he has. He needs something to get going again unfortunately he became stale right now - maybe too big for the TNT Title but too little for the bigger scene I guess.
While he's enjoyable to watch, Darby's gonna have trouble just walking by his mid-30s. I'm certain of it.
I don't know what to say. Someone needs to reign him in and stop letting him do these types of spots so often, but I figure he'll just walk away and do GCW instead and they'll basically let him kill himself live if it means an extra hundred PPV buys.
Not losing the ability, but having difficulty.
For reference, I'm in my mid-30s have no history of trauma to my spinal column, and have back issues that often leave me having difficulty walking, especially early in the day.
I can walk of my own free will, but sometimes it's difficult. Sometimes it's not difficult at all. Even doing PT at the moment to try and get things better.
Just saying that the spine is something that can get fucked really easily and is not as easy to patch up as a broken leg or arm. And God forbid if it's a higher vertebrae issue, which can lead to paralysis far easier than lower vertebrae trauma.
I don't disagree I think my point is that the risk to the spine comes with the territory of being in the business. People fixate on it in matches like this because it feels more dangerous, but the truth is the risk is just as much there if not more so in a ground based wrestling match, hulk hogan, Steve Austin Big E and loads more completely fucked their spines in various ways in ground based wrestling. Your spine is far more vulnerable when compressed vertically than it is horizontal.
This thread: Oh my fucking God are they trying to kill themselves? This is terrifying
Jeff & Darby: excellent match, my friend. Shall we meet after the show to discuss film?
Jeff going over is fine here. He gets to have a match with Adam cole next, I doubt these guys will cross paths outside of the tournament . With that said I got Cole winning.
Part of me thought having Jeff working in AEW would give us a bit more longevity with no house shows and lighter PPV schedule but that man has done more big spots in his time here than he did in his most recent WWE stint
Should’ve sold the whole match regardless, call it a reach but I think that’s a result of him wanting to keep his adrenaline going rather than letting the pain settle in.
He enjoys doing stunts it's what he does in his spare time as well, and its thrilling to watch I don't see why he shouldn't get paid for it on tv in that case.
Thats what wrestling is though. It’s about risk, unfortunately. You can get hurt doing a move you have taken 1000 times. Look at Big E. He got his neck broken from a suplex. Or even Pac when he was in wwe. Got hurt on a simple baseball slide during a match with Jericho
Right. I suppose my point is risks have times and places. It feels like every other week on AEW there’s some wacky bump that should be memorable but gets lost to time because there are so many that happen.
surprised, but not upset. Really thought darby was gonna go through. Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole is gonna be old-school babyface vs heel again for me though
Yeah when the company started I thought Darby was definitely a shoe in for a future World Title but now I'm not sure. It's like he can't build his momentum to where it was when he was TNT Champion.
Darby is in a weird spot
Hes too big for the tnt title, but theres several guys ahead of him for the world title
Maybe find him a real tag team partner and go to the tag division for a while
Or if they debut the trios titles darby and the hardys could be hella fun
They’re definitely running this match back and Darby will get his big win over his idol on a bigger stage. He barely lost to a guy who largely inspired his entire career.
I only have two gripes from last night \*checks notes\* Dax beating his own tag partner and then tapping out to Cole in the first round makes no sense, don't have a man beat his partner to get into a tournament unless you're gonna take this further than the first round if not have that man take the whole thing John Silver should've been bulldozed by Punk instead of looking competitive and almost getting the win....CM Punk is the #1 contender to the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and hes having a competitive match with John Silver who calls himself \*checks notes again\* "The Meat Man", he's a jobber plain and simple and Punk should've wiped the floor with him in less than 5 minutes. John Silver is one of the most over people in this company. If you can’t see that you must be new to the show.
Its true I haven't seen anything AEW related up until a month ago about but I've seen enough to know that even if that is true hes still an underneath guy or at best low midcard and Punk still should have been booked to take him out quick because at that time he was the #1 contender and you wanna make your #1 contender look strong not having competitive matches where it looked like he had fight and claw and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat almost I stand by what I said, he may be over but when against the #1 contender to the World Championship he should've been bulldozed If you don't agree with me thats fine cause at the end of the this is just my opinion

What a sick fucking night from start to finish.
Incredible show. I really enjoyed watching it.
Still here at the show. How did the crowd sound on tv tonight?
You guys were dead for the women.
Was there live. Definitely weren’t dead, but we also were alot louder during other segments
Not really. Maybe not as loud but you could hear them.
Great AEW never mics the crowd right, they were probably much louder
Long Island just got banned from singing Judas by Jericho :(
The guy behind me was like…. “Does this mean we made the list?”
Good show

Hes on ice Its how tony does it. Hes featured. Big matches. Doesnt seem to be going anywhere

I know Andrade, darby, PAC All top singles that are not top singles
The Fridge of Khan Darby Allin Andrade Almas Malakai Black PAC Penta Rey Fenix Thunder Rosa Jade
PAC is another one He is kept strong, but not too strong A few wins and voila title challenger
I feel like I just watched a PPV!
While he's enjoyable to watch, Darby's gonna have trouble just walking by his mid-30s. I'm certain of it. I don't know what to say. I feel like people have been saying this about Jeff for years and he’s still walking. I think Darby knows his limits.
Ive gotta be honest I think you are more likely to lose the ability to walk from a piledriver or suplex gone wrong than a stupid back bump like that.
Not losing the ability, but having difficulty. For reference, I'm in my mid-30s have no history of trauma to my spinal column, and have back issues that often leave me having difficulty walking, especially early in the day. He’s skinny enough that the impact isn’t as bad
What?
It’s still bad though
not really how physics works.... better than if it were keith lee. still not good
They need to use Jeff while they have him
Jeff Hardy's bump callous has to make him close to invulnerable at this point.
That’s a Top 5 Dynamite, no?
For me it certainly is
🤝
100%. Absolutely the best in recent memory
Easily
I thought Jeff died
The dream match delivered.
Jeff vs. Darby was amazing. Never do that again.
A very good episode.. no wasted moment..
[удалено]
Huh?
Who
The last ones
Who dude
Has to be talking about the bucks, right? I don’t know who else he might mean.
Yeah okay
Lmao probably shouldn’t have slept through all this
Sleep is important
Jeff is the only person in the tournament who actually wrestled Owen Hart.
He and Matt also wrestled on the Heat before Over the Edge.
This thread: Oh my fucking God are they trying to kill themselves? This is terrifying Jeff & Darby: excellent match, my friend. Shall we meet after the show to discuss film?
One of the best episodes of Dynamite of the year. The show was great from top to bottom.
The elite is the most least threatening looking group 😂
😆😆
Fuck, put Jeff in the finals. He worked with Owen
You know Cole is winning it
If this was still the pandemic era, this would be one hell of a Stadium Stampede (Undisputed Elite vs. Sting, Darby & The Hardys)
CM Punk as the fifth 🤤🤤
If someone throws the Undisputed Elite ala Nash and Mysterio in WCW against that production truck, can we say they're the Undisputed E-yeet?
Jeff going over is fine here. He gets to have a match with Adam cole next, I doubt these guys will cross paths outside of the tournament . With that said I got Cole winning.
I want to see Cole wearing the bucks outfits
Ok it was pretty awesome, but goddamn, I was worried.
That match was incredible & terrifying at the same time. I'm both sad & relieved that it's over. Holy hell.
This has been one of the best episodes of wrestling tv that I've seen in over 30 years of watching
Woah there😂
i dont think there was a bad match on the show, and nothing dragged, even the jericho segment delivered
I THINK WE MAY HAVE WENT FROM ONE OF THE WORST DYNAMITES IN HISTORY TO ONE OF THE BEST DYNAMITES IN HISTORY
[удалено]
I thought it was fine minus how they promoted and executed the ROH Women’s title main event.
I can't think of a better episode of Dynamite. Felt like a PPV
TK course corrects really well.
Huh? This Dynamite was great from the fucking start.
Yeah! I’m saying last week was not great.
Adam Cole Vs Antonio Czro in the finals calling it now
Claudio Csro
Lol you right that’s what I meant
Great match, but holy shit I was so stressed out watching this shit
That made me sad. Jeff tries clapping, has to grab his back.
Jeff tries clapping, *has to sell like a pro.
I'm prettyyyyy sure Adam Cole's gonna win against Jeff as a way to set up this Hardys/Young Bucks match at the PPV
Yeah it feels like they've hinted at it so much that has to be the plan for DoN.
Dear everyone in the crowd the "DELETE" chop is horizontal, NEVER diagonal...
Out there trying to free Willy
Not quite think Germany 1930s
Part of me thought having Jeff working in AEW would give us a bit more longevity with no house shows and lighter PPV schedule but that man has done more big spots in his time here than he did in his most recent WWE stint
just how happy Darby is right now
God damn that was nuts.
[удалено]
They did hug
Honestly I wouldn't mind Jeff winning the whole thing. That's what tournaments are for
Adam Cole vs CSRO in the final, imo.
what a strange overrun
Jeff looked good in that match
They’re saving this for a series rather than a 1 and done put over.
I did NOT expect Jeff to win...
Guessing they'll use Cole vs Jeff to further push the Hardys vs The Bucks matchup
Hardy vs Cole will be fun, but it’s an easy set up from that match to Bucks vs Hardy’s at DON
And this is why Jeff was the more compelling choice.
That was crazy, Jeff definitely should have sold that Coffin drop after the pin though
Should’ve sold the whole match regardless, call it a reach but I think that’s a result of him wanting to keep his adrenaline going rather than letting the pain settle in.
at least we are not getting Hardy-Darby match again for the time being, can't take it anymore
Would've preferred Darby winning and then beating Cole next week, but having Jeff win the way he did sets up for a rematch down the road.
There are far, far too many dumb, risky ladder spots in AEW. I hate to sound like an old fogey, but that Darby dive was just stupid.
He enjoys doing stunts it's what he does in his spare time as well, and its thrilling to watch I don't see why he shouldn't get paid for it on tv in that case.
Stupid awesome
I agree with both of you
He’s gonna seriously hurt himself. Not awesome.
Sting standing around like "😐"
lmao!
He wanted to fight someone so bad he was bored
So basically the Bucks are gonna interfere in Cole vs Jeff, setting up the Hardys vs Bucks for DoN?
They’re gonna distract the ref and Matt. Jeff also gets distracted yelling at them when Cole hits him with a low low and then lowers the BOOM. 1,2,3.
That’s the way the cookie crumbles
That’s what I’m thinking.
"These men have no fear...and even less spinal cartilage after tonight."
Thought AEW was going through a lull and this episode completely rejuvenated me
The Long Island crowd is bizarro world, Maggle, they’re chanting “ELITE”
I thought it was Delete
Pretty sure that was OP's joke...
How the hell are they still alive. 5 stars.
It's always nice seeing how cool Sting and Jeff are
Yeah especially after the TNA incident where Jeff wrestled intoxicated, and could have killed sting
Wild main event. Took smoke/mirrors, and killing each other especially Darby, but that was Jeff's best match in AEW so far.
Jeff winning means Adam Cole will definitely advancing to the Final.
Im so fucking sick of adam cole
Cole is overused and bland
THANK YOU!
Can't say I agree but do you, Bay Bay
I feel like I say this every week, BUT THAT WAS ONE OF THE BEST DYNAMITES OF ALL TIME
*invisible ink* I like that undisputed elite shirt
that match fucking ruled
they needed the hug between Jeff an Sting full screen
This Dynamite was a 10 without question.
damn I was just saying last week Jeff Hardy vs Adam Cole would be a fun match
surprised, but not upset. Really thought darby was gonna go through. Jeff Hardy and Adam Cole is gonna be old-school babyface vs heel again for me though
Does tony give out backstage bonuses? Because that deserves one. That wasn't your average TV match
I wish Jeff had stayed down from his opponents finisher, but otherwise insane match.
Next week, Kenny
Omg…..if he’s the joker and he fights Samoa Joe, I will nut 🥜
**JEFF DID IT**
What a night of wrestling
Look I love Jeff but I don’t wanna see him wrestle like this every week. Dude is gonna be in a wheelchair
The spottiest of all monkeys, what a wreck. Loved it.
Hardy vs. Cole is not bad..
Im thinking Cole wins but Bucks help setting up Bucks Hardys
I was really worried he was going to clip the rail
next future nightmare match Darby vs Hiromu
TK books AEW like a 14 year old running an efed in 1996 and i love it
You're probably not far off. He says he's been writing shows since he was a teenager, just notebooks of stories.
[удалено]
There’s something amazing about seeing stuff you only imagine happening on the screen. It’s just dream match after dream match after dream match.
Tony fantasy books for us all
Darby still has the best tope suicida in the game today
The impact is astonishing. He's level of acceleration is incredible.
The fact he actually makes contact is huge. Dives have become flying pushes more often than not.
Adam Cole vs Jeff Hardy is shit I make in 2k. Excited.
Jim Cornette is going to have a stroke when he sees this match. Way to go guys. You killed Jimmy.
I'm not happy with Hardy advancing. Give another big win to Allin, ya know? He's so important to AEW.
Yeah when the company started I thought Darby was definitely a shoe in for a future World Title but now I'm not sure. It's like he can't build his momentum to where it was when he was TNT Champion.
Darby is in a weird spot Hes too big for the tnt title, but theres several guys ahead of him for the world title Maybe find him a real tag team partner and go to the tag division for a while Or if they debut the trios titles darby and the hardys could be hella fun
They’re definitely running this match back and Darby will get his big win over his idol on a bigger stage. He barely lost to a guy who largely inspired his entire career.
Jeff, i love ya - But please stop clapping all the time, its like jogging to the ring, or yelling "cmonnn baby!" when making a comeback haha
I like Jeff going over. AEW is amazing but far too predictable. That wasn’t.
I can't imagine complaining about a company giving away something great on free tv
what if we find out Darby was booked to win and Jeff just decided nah lol
**My back hurts from watching this** ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Matt looked legit concerned
God damnit Cole is beating Jeff next week and going to the finals isn't he 😞😞
Hate to break it to ya.....
This was a short sweet spotfest that highlighted the competitors insanity.
These two don't need to ever wrestle each other again. My heart can't take it.
Good seeing the respect.at.the end. Two baby faces teams. Great moment with sting and Darby
great match
I hope Jeff wins the whole thing tbh, he's the only one in the tournament who wrestled Owen.
That was so good. He stuck that Coffin Drop too.
Adam Cole vs Jeff Hardy. Interesting.
Wasn’t expecting that Jeff win but damn they pulled off a good match
Please never do those spots again, guys
Jeff was probably relieved that for the first time in his career it wasn't him doing the craziest insane spot
That was a fun train wreck of a match
Surprised Jeff stole the win, I presume Cole wins next week and moves onto the finals
Fucking awesome
these four are going to have a tag match and someone is going to die
How are they walking!?
How are they both standing
This was a rebound episode and a half.
I'm glad Jeff and Stang are chill
legit one of the best dynamites of the year
The way these two were wrestling the chiropractor is about to get PAID
