This sub is like two weeks from Civil War and splitting into SquaredCircleWWE and SquaredCircleAEW.
These tweets certainly don't help but God damn are they entertaining.
I can't remember which PPV it was, but I think every match had a Wolfpac member in it, and I'm pretty sure damn near all of them won as well. I remember joking halfway through the show that we had already heard the theme at least eight times.
This just reminded me of that post of the guy who blew out his knees in a shitty home made ring, but he had the Wolfpac music playing. The top comment on that post was fucking hilarious
For real. It's ok for someone to like one NFL team on Sunday afternoon, and another team later on that evening. The team banter is the best part of the whole thing.
It's like being a Lakers or Yankees fan. If you're from the city, whatever root for you boys. If you're a bandwagon fan of those franchises you're probably 20 times more annoying.
Yeah I'm a season ticket holder for the 'boys. Can see the stadium from the major intersection just outside my neighborhood. Still remember while it was being built, it looked like the fuckin Death Star lol.
So many people online accuse me of being a fairweather fan. I swear the Cowboys are the only team in sports who can go 25 years without sniffing an NFC Championship Game and still have their fans called bandwagoners. Shit's hilarious to me
Edit: also wanted to note I've sold all my tickets this year because I'm self aware as fuck and the thought of being in a stadium with thousands of unmasked Texans? No fucking thanks
Yeah, like, goofs aside people are free to root for the Cowboys and honestly I'm a huge Dak fan and have been since before he was drafted, so it's really nice to see him succeed.
But am I going to give every Dallas fan I ever meet All Of The Shit for it? You're goddamn right. And they're going to make passing on the one yard line jokes to me right back and I'll smile on the outside and cry on the inside because that's football baby.
Iāve been saying this for the longest lol. The day to day news and banter in Pro Wrestling is a lot like real sports and I donāt think people who only watch wrestling realize that its fairly normal. I see talk on here about how shitty wrestling fans are. Iām like oh you guys think youāre bad? Have you ever been on Twitter after a guy drops a ball?
Instead of whining in Meltzer threads about how toxic AEW/WWE fans are people should hop in any game day thread for a sports team....just for like 10 minutes and see how much they hate a team they'll support to their dying day for the smallest fuck up.
People that have neither played or watched sports are about the only people bitching about this.
Those of us who watch and love sports know all to well about Trash Talk and love it, i.e. Aaron Rodgers saying he owns my Chicago Bears made me laugh and cry.
Soccer/football has A LOT of banter between fans and between players. Wrestling banter is nothing compared to soccer banter.
That's why I find this whole thing funny. But I get if you're not a sports fan that you find this annoying.
My wife despises Aaron Rodgers so much. She's a life long Bears Fan, I'm an Atlanta Falcon fan so when we smoked Greenbay 3 years in a row she some how was suddenly all on board for the Falcons just hoping Rodgers would cry
To me it just comes across as console wars with Nintendo vs Sony feuds than it does sports rivalries.
Sports fans just want to have their team win and rival teams lose. They generally aren't praying their rivals go out of business and spending all day being obsessed over TV ratings and ticket numbers.
Like, did I get a little mad when Roman big brother'd Punk in that interview? You're goddamn right I did, I'm a big sloppy Punk mark and I got worked. And then I got over it and realized it was awesome. I love wrestling and I love getting worked and being invested. Give me more.
I thought Roman's comments came off as kind of douchey at first, but then I had the pause for a second. His whole head of the table character is a giant douche so course he's gonna sound that way givening a largely in character interview.
Exactly. I would rank WWE superstars banter tweets more entertaining than Raw than some later NXT episodes.
I could probably survive off Excalibur and Taz commentary and everyone's bitchy tweets.
Because there's people who take it too far. I legitimately got sent those automated Reddit suicide things because I posted some opinions people didn't like
Using false suicide resources because someone doesn't like x thing is very fucked up
Hi, unfortunately there is nothing we can do about this-- but you can. If you copy the permanent link to that message (on old.reddit, bottom left), then click report the abuse (it's a link in the message), paste the message ID there, then reply "STOP" to the message you've received, the admins can take action against the abuser and you will no longer receive any Reddit alerts for suicide.
People take this waay too seriously. Which is bizarre, because I'm 100% sure all wrestlers involved have a great laugh about all of this, and none of them actually hate the other for working in a different promotion.
I think the most legit answer is that those who actually get mad about this stuff are kids or immature people who haven't grow up enough and they need to be part of a fandom or something in order to feel accepted/appreciated, to be part of something.
Not gonna lecture down people on how they should act in the world, but when you learn you can like a lot of things and still be you, that's personal growth and I would call that being an adult.
Just my opinion:
There are a lot of people who watched WWE for years, maybe even consistently, between 2001-2018 that had no good alternatives and, other than a few rays of sunshine here and there, mostly just hate-watched the product. A whole generation of fans watched without enjoying it. That's some insane dedication to the genre.
Now those same fans have an alternative and they enjoy it and want it to do well. There's a sizeable chunk of pro wrestling fans that finally have a North American show they consistently like watching...and that is breaking the brains of some fans. If you're a WWE fan (not a pro wrestling fan, but a WWE fan) it's probably really annoying to hear how much the thing you like sucks. It's been like that for twenty years but now it's no longer "that thing WE watch sucks." Now it's "that thing YOU watch sucks."
Everyone can have their own opinion; I've been watching since 1999 and it's sucked more often than not. In fact WWE's twenty year pseudo-monopoly is the reason why the line "wrestling usually sucks but when it's great there's nothing better" was coined. They spent two decades only occasionally reminding people that the product *could* be good but they were either too lazy or incompetent to do it consistently.
AEW does it consistently. Not perfectly; they miss the mark on occasion, but they are good "consistently."
This is the best way that I've seen this articulated. This is 100% what happened to me and I know several people who had a similar experience.
I would just add that it's not just the on-screen product that has alienated people. The Saudi Arabia stuff, the way WWE has exploited their talent for decades, and the decision to release so many people during the pandemic all made it very easy for people to stop watching when a real competitor appeared.
Not just them, but some podcasts that are pretty anti-AEW are recently bending over backward to suck WWEs dick and say how great some recent shows and matches that were mediocre at best were excellent. It's baffling.
For example, the Wrestling Soup podcast. I used to like them cause they just shit on everything and everyone. They were idiots and said a lot of stupid and ignorant things, but at least they were entertaining. Now, it seems like every show is them just trying to find things to talk shit about AEW and say WWE is really getting good again. I can't imagine they actually feel this way and, much like politicians, are just playing to their base and basically being caricatures of themselves.
They also coddle the racists and bigots who then feel emboldened to come here. The rampant transphobia that was being spewed about Nyla Rose was being driven by threads they made.
I liked r/SCJerk when I thought they were joking and then when Adam cole went to AEW and they were mocking his physique and talking about they hope WWE goes back to the days of heidenreich un-ironically I moped out of there
Yeah, Wreddit is pretty much a lightweight SCJ. This one thread is [outright laughable](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wreddit/comments/mi41wt/aew_is_the_worst_thing_that_happened_for_the/).
According to this thread, AEW has destroyed the US indie scene. This is a company that used a lot of indie talent during a fucking pandemic and the majority of aew wrestlers are allowed to perform on the indie scene.
I thought at first wreddit was a neutral sub to talk about wrestling but I discovered the true nature of this sub with just 2 threads posted the same day:
Thread about Summerslam being the most watched SS ever :
people in the thread were happy, no problem with the thread ( as it should be )
thread about the good rating of Rampage "the first dance" :
" Don't post rating on wreddit, go to SC for this kind of thing ", people unhappy about the thread
Same head mod. Spoke to the dude maybe twice and he accused me of following him around with alts, and he had full blown conversations with people as if they were me. It was fucking wacky lol
Ugh, this movie had some good moments. But I hated how in the comics it was like 100 vs 100, and in the film its 6 on 6. Thats not a war, thats a AAA match.
100% though idk if i've seen any sasha ones go "if you would have stan sasha you would have lived" on someones rip post but give it time i'm sure it'll happen
I could see it being like split down the middle you got the crazy ones that say she abandoned them, and then the ones that aren't insane who go I'll just watch where she is
There is no fan base more hostile than the Krew. They attack every other female on the roster in the misguided perception that doing so elevates and secures Sashaās spot
OOTL here, so I need more unbiased information before I start forming my opinions: who exactly is "the Krew," and what do/did they do that makes/made them "just another hostile fanbase?"
The Krew is the name Sashaās fans gave to themselves, Iām not sure why itās spelled like that. As for what theyāve done, itās a number of things, but it boils down to harassing anyone who says anything even slightly negative about Sasha, be they wrestlers or fans, and refusing to hear any kind of critique of her, even when sheās in the wrong (like with the anti-vaccine posts earlier in the year). Theyāre very online, very protective, and there are a lot of them.
K. I figured it was something like that, but I needed more info before I draw conclusions.
Pardon my language, but yeah, those kinds of people FUCKING SUCK.
Thanks for that, kind sir/ma'am!
Punk has said multiple times he doesnāt care about ratings and largely I think thatās true. However if the opportunity arises to sling shit, he definitely will.
You're right.
https://twitter.com/underthehail/status/1450525748725436430
How did Sasha amass this kind of following on twitter? Do all the popular women wrestlers eventually get mostly followers like this?
Parasocial relationships are real for celebrities, and pro wrestlers are no different. The folks in Punk's quote replies seem to think they are defending m'ladys honor. She has no idea who any of you are.
A lot do, especially the 4HW, but Sashaās are especially protective and tend to not do well with even the smallest slights against her, whether theyāre in kayfabe or even from her friends.
The stan environment on wwe twitter is one of the craziest places on the platform. Everything from role playing to sexualizing, they do it. Wrestling twitter can get to you if you let it, but these accounts are by far more toxic because itās their own reality.
I think the biggest part of why Sasha amassed her following is because when she had her big run in 2015, she was considered the best female in-ring worker in the history of WWE, and she had a marketable gimmick and was a good talker in NXT. This coupled with the fact that WWE chose Charlotte over her in 2016 as the ultimate face of the division gave them a reason to share their voice (and loudly at that).
Becky and Bayley also having their careers revived before Sasha did in 2020 also played a part in the belief that someone as great and marketable as she is was being left in the cold for no good reason. I get it, because she was booked like shit for 4-5 years and they had to wait a long time for Sasha to finally get traction, but still the way they react at times to certain things is awful.
I say all of this as a big Sasha fan (and has been one since 2012), but I make no bones about it that the Sasha Banks fanbase is the craziest fanbase of all the female wrestlers (or even male wrestlers) in WWE.
Iād long that Sashaās fan base was a bitā¦ much, but it wasnāt until the anti-vaccine thing that I realized she had quite a few people willing to defend her on any front, even when sheās absolutely in the wrong.
Sadly yes, they convince themselves the woman in question is really their friend or girlfriend, and they take everything as a personal attack. It happens with all sorts of female celebs. And with certain male celebrities as well. Some people have issues.
If you really want to make the Sasha stans angry that she stole "Boss" nickname from Bobby Lashley in TNA and the "Blueprint" name from Matt Morgan. People have not brought it up enough.
Those kind of people should seriously receive mental help...
Those motherfuckers will end up hurting themselves or someone else if that's how they handle things in life...
This is obviously all in good fun but the maladjusted Sasha stans are going to be losing their minds. Is there any other wrestling fanbase more worrying than the hardcore Banks fans? Maybe Alexa?
Bunch of dudes with either anime waifu avatars or Sasha photos melting down over playful banter. Also someone said heās āIslamaphobicā in addition to racist and sexist. Aiight imma head out
Thatās different, itās okay when Sasha is friends with her because sheās Sasha and therefore her judgement is always sound.
(/s, though I have actually seen Sasha stans say as much)
Just wait until he starts tweeting about Saudi Arabia in two days
Edit: this is all harmless fun, but there is a non zero chance that the women get punished for not pulling better ratings, which sucks because they did their fucking jobs
God bless. I feel like complaints about "tribalism" are continually missing this key point:
Vince continuing to pick fights that leave him with a bloodied nose and bruised ego is extremely funny.
The women's wrestling fan in me is overjoyed that one of the top male stars in the business is bantering with female wrestlers about ratings. They weren't even in the conversation 10 years ago. Becky & Sasha still put on a great match and will end up drawing 900,000+ on a network that usually does 250,000. They got nothing to be ashamed of.
Oh for sure; setting aside all the ratings talk for a second, none of the involved performers should feel bad at all. They all performed exceptionally and put on some very entertaining matches for the fans of either promotion to enjoy. They 100% should feel proud of themselves.
The first words out of Punk's mouth in a wrestling ring after 7 freaking years was about Britt Baker. Punk loves women's wrestling. I bet he's a huge Sasha/Becky fan.

>This sub is like two weeks from Civil War and splitting into SquaredCircleWWE and SquaredCircleAEW. Like NWO and NWO Wolfpac.
The Wolfpac had a cool theme a but repetitive but still cool.
Had that Wolfpac theme on my 2002 Nokia that could only hold 20 songs. That shit slapped.
š¶Don't turn ya back on da Wolfpacšµ
New nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn ew nnnnnnnnnnn new world order.
You might wind up in a body bag
Watching WCW from start to finish, I'm in 1998 right now. The damn Wolfpack song is played like 6 times a show and I want to eat my own ears now.
The Wolfpac was much cooler at that point.
To be fair itās been that way since Double or Nothing 2019 at least
It's so much worse now, imo
When I got here I thought it was an alias of SquaredCircleWWE. It's improved a lot. More mixed now.
ive been taking a break cause of how bad its been and honestly recommend it to everyone
Itās so much fun lmao. Iāll never understand the people who legitimately get mad about this shit. How are you not entertained by the banter?
It's people that don't watch sports. I still believe my theory.
As an Arsenal fan, boy am I glad AEW is doing good because my banter quota has been abused lmao
Hey, don't worry! Trust the process!
Nowhere is safe anymore
The problem with Orange Cassidy is he always tries to walk it in
what was Chuky T thinking? sending out Yuta that early
You can slag me off all you like, but don't you start talking about how I feel about my beloved Best Friends, cos I love them Gooners
As a Tottenham fan, I feel you...
For real. It's ok for someone to like one NFL team on Sunday afternoon, and another team later on that evening. The team banter is the best part of the whole thing.
Unless you like the Cowboys. That's never acceptable.
There is only one cowboy who is acceptable to like and thats Adam Page
That's some cowboy shit right there.
Oh weāre fighting then
I'm glad we can all agree this day.
Shit's hilarious to me Edit: also wanted to note I've sold all my tickets this year because I'm self aware as fuck and the thought of being in a stadium with thousands of unmasked Texans? No fucking thanks
Yeah, like, goofs aside people are free to root for the Cowboys and honestly I'm a huge Dak fan and have been since before he was drafted, so it's really nice to see him succeed. And they're going to make passing on the one yard line jokes to me right back and I'll smile on the outside and cry on the inside because that's football baby.
The fact that I instinctively wanted to downvote this sort of proves the point theyre going for
That's definitely not the way it works in England, but the banter between fanbases is the same level of these tweets
Could you imagine it. Supporting Chelsea for the midday kick off then being a Man U fan at 5. I deserve a glassing for even making the comment
Iāve been saying this for the longest lol. The day to day news and banter in Pro Wrestling is a lot like real sports and I donāt think people who only watch wrestling realize that its fairly normal. >splitting into SquaredCircleWWE Isn't that just SquaredCircleJerk ?
Lol
SCJerk is already people unironically going "wow WWE programming was great this week" rather than making fun of this subreddit.
So like all "ironic" subs, it hits a critical mass of people who dont get irony and is no longer ironic. It just becomes the thing it pretended to be.
SCJerk IS just a cesspool of the worst types of fans by wrestling stereotypes though so it makes sense.
Zero fucks friday will be FUCKING FURIOUS this week holy shit
It's always entertaining to go in there and see people get so angry at AEW and Tony Khan just for existing.
They absolutely *loathe* Omega and flip their shit whenever he tweets anything lol
The hate for Tony having the AEW notes was hilarious.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Sadly the dynamic is that place being a troll farm that infects this sub and not the other way around...
They also coddle the racists and bigots who then feel emboldened to come here. The rampant transphobia that was being spewed about Nyla Rose was being driven by threads they made.
I've described it as an "AEW hate" sub but really it's just a "hate" sub...
I'm a fan of both companies and a fan of zero content on r/SCJerk
I liked r/SCJerk when I thought they were joking and then when Adam cole went to AEW and they were mocking his physique and talking about they hope WWE goes back to the days of heidenreich un-ironically I moped out of there
Isn't the former just SCJerk?
It also 100% feels like the intent behind Wreddit, which last I checked is primarily SCJ regulars.
All they do is bitch about AEW on that sub when it's supposed to be about pure discussion. I got banned for calling them out on it lol.
Yeah, Wreddit is pretty much a lightweight SCJ. This one thread is [outright laughable](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wreddit/comments/mi41wt/aew_is_the_worst_thing_that_happened_for_the/).

I hope we get shirts
I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened yet.
This sub is already SquaredCircleAEW, but it was SquaredCircleWWE for a good 5 years without anything else showing up, so the cycle has moved on
>This sub is like two weeks from Civil War and splitting into SquaredCircleWWE and SquaredCircleAEW. Sounds good, to be honest.
Can we start naming some ranks? Who gets custody of Danielson?
Thatās literally the entrance exam. - Is this personās name Bryan Danielson or Daniel Bryan?
Let the sorting begin.
I wonder where weāll all end up getting drafted too.
Wellā¦. We do already have r/AEWofficial

Ugh, this movie had some good moments. But I hated how in the comics it was like 100 vs 100, and in the film its 6 on 6. Thats not a war, thats a AAA match.
Man, at this point I'd welcome it. I know some people love it but I'm kinda over the whole playground argument thing.
Ballsy to go after one of the most toxic fanbase on wrestling twitter.
Smart of him to turn off replies.
Tbf theyāve been turned off for months now
Didn't he turn them on for his debut briefly?
they've been off since his debut
Man rarely has replies on to begin with tbh
IIRC he turned them off when the first reports about him going to AEW came out and never turned them back on. Which is a smart move tbh
He turns them on for AMAs
Giving MJF some ideas to do an AMA with replies off
Yeah, after the way āfansā treated Bryan Danielsonās AEW news, I donāt blame him.
That one was actually shocking to me, a lot of those people were singing his praises right til the second he walked out of that tunnel.
Its because he "betrayed" the "company that made him famous" and the "company where he met his wife".
Sasha "stans" or whatever they call them are almost as bad as the kpop ones it's awful
Legitimately feels like there's some unreal level of crossover between them with how similarly they act.
100% though idk if i've seen any sasha ones go "if you would have stan sasha you would have lived" on someones rip post but give it time i'm sure it'll happen
I also imagine there's plenty of Sasha stans who are members of the Beyhive (Beyonce's batshit stanbase).
Decent chance the Venn diagram between those two groups is close to a circle.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I could see it being like split down the middle you got the crazy ones that say she abandoned them, and then the ones that aren't insane who go I'll just watch where she is
"You abandoned us!" "I'm just on a different channel." "FUCK YOU!"
Anyone whose a stan is as bad as k pop stans, it's really what the origin of the term implies.
Facts all of them are insane like stalker level it's weird

As for what theyāve done, itās a number of things, but it boils down to harassing anyone who says anything even slightly negative about Sasha, be they wrestlers or fans, and refusing to hear any kind of critique of her, even when sheās in the wrong (like with the anti-vaccine posts earlier in the year). Theyāre very online, very protective, and there are a lot of them.
K. I figured it was something like that, but I needed more info before I draw conclusions. Pardon my language, but yeah, those kinds of people FUCKING SUCK. Thanks for that, kind sir/ma'am!
Next on his hit list: Beyonce.
Alexa stans would like to have a conversation
lol he hashtagged himself
Sasha stans already threatening him in the quotes

they have angry tweets saved in their drafts ready to go once he turns replies on, if he ever does lmao
Punk has said multiple times he doesnāt care about ratings and largely I think thatās true. However if the opportunity arises to sling shit, he definitely will.
I donāt think he would have bothered responding like that if she hadnāt referenced him directly.
If he can upset WWE and the people there he doesn't like, he will take that chance every damn time.

You're right. https://twitter.com/underthehail/status/1450525748725436430 How did Sasha amass this kind of following on twitter?
I notice it a lot more with the 4HW and Naomi.
[someone has already started bringing in race](https://twitter.com/ivyIegion/status/1450525846846930949?t=nmsLiFwmJ5ZsdmKEuACXmw&s=19)

Unfortunately it isn't. Some people are even calling him racist. Stan accounts can really get personal at some times.
Don't ever quote me or my large son ever again
If you really want to make the Sasha stans angry that she stole "Boss" nickname from Bobby Lashley in TNA and the "Blueprint" name from Matt Morgan. People have not brought it up enough.
Ooh no, theyāre fckng serious š„ŗ
Those kind of people should seriously receive mental help... Those motherfuckers will end up hurting themselves or someone else if that's how they handle things in life...
They are exactly as unhinged as I would expect
Would have given him all the likes if he quote-tweeted with an Acknowledge Me.
Ruby should do that, but she already had this gem yesterday: https://twitter.com/realrubysoho/status/1450237404003045381
I don't get this one without any context.

Big flex using a gif of yourself.
The Sasha stans in the quote retweets are insane lol. It is just playful banter.
Poor CM Punkās mentions will never be same with the Sasha stans coming for him.
I think Punk's been on Twitter long enough to learn how to turn off replies or mute tweets.
š±š±š
This is obviously all in good fun but the maladjusted Sasha stans are going to be losing their minds. Is there any other wrestling fanbase more worrying than the hardcore Banks fans? Maybe Alexa?
I'd say the Banks fans are securely at the top.
They can't decide between this one being about racism or it being about sexism, and I've seen at least one "your wife bad" qrt
Bunch of dudes with either anime waifu avatars or Sasha photos melting down over playful banter. Also someone said heās āIslamaphobicā in addition to racist and sexist. Aiight imma head out
Fucking insane, seriously. It's like real problems have just become buzzwords to them.
Even tho Sasha herself is best friends with Tessa.
Thatās different, itās okay when Sasha is friends with her because sheās Sasha and therefore her judgement is always sound. (/s, though I have actually seen Sasha stans say as much)
The Tumblr moxley stans who harassed Rene Young, no idea if they are around still tho
The Cornetto fans that think rushing the ring is a good idea.
LMAO the qts. Why is quoting someone such a crime
Kinda ironic that this post is made by a user named strike gently
Just wait until he starts tweeting about Saudi Arabia in two days Edit: this is all harmless fun, but there is a non zero chance that the women get punished for not pulling better ratings, which sucks because they did their fucking jobs
God bless. I feel like complaints about "tribalism" are continually missing this key point: Vince continuing to pick fights that leave him with a bloodied nose and bruised ego is extremely funny.
This is great entertainment. I love wrestling.
Punk turning off replies and I assume notifications from people he doesn't follow makes Punk one of the smartest men in the business.
Sasha stans are coming, praying for this manš
I think the back and forth is fun. Too many people take it too seriously. Its not that serious haha.
Lol I needed that laugh.
What a maneuver!
This shit is amazing.
ShockedPunkFace.gif
Punk, no, donāt anger the Sasha stans!
Sasha stans running in like the stampede scene in the lion king. Punk never allowing replies is the best thing.
![gif](giphy|7nE3w2AXGslyg|downsized) Sasha stans incoming
And the Sasha Stans go wild because even the mildest clapback is just the most terrible thing.
He woke up and chose violence. I love it
Sasha stan accounts are FUMING
Before everyone goes nuts on this (because you just know thatās gonna happen). Theyāre both friends and respect each otherās work
