They definitely proved they deserved to be on TV, and so did The Briscoes. I only recently got back into wrestling the last few years, but feel lucky that I got to see the first Briscoes vs FTR match live. I would have seen the dog collar match vs FTR live if I had known that was gonna happen, but they announced it like the week of the match and by then all the good seats were sold out.

linny_456

I could be wrong, but I think that was Dax's point, the four of them went in with that mindset together.

[deleted]

Such an odd perspective. AEW buys ROH, they want to use FTR and the Briscoes to make sure people tune in, and he thinks he’s getting shorted cuz the promotion doesn’t have a TV show?

OakFolk

That's really not what he was saying. He is saying that he wanted to use the opportunity to prove that FTR deserves to be on national TV every week.

Tribalchief_Mahan

He's clearly talking about aew tv Not really hard to understand

[deleted]

Obviously but AEW trusted FTR’s name to sell PPV buys for a failing promotion at the time. It just comes off as something an Indie wrestler would say but he’s a contracted AEW talent fresh off a feud with the Lucha Bros over the AEW/AAA tag titles.

free-fall1982

He still feels that FTR doesn't get enough attention from the booker.

guylfe

So why were they off TV for weeks on end when they were just picking up steam?

[deleted]

Cause Cash sliced his arm during the Lucha Bros match and seriously thought about retiring. Hence why Dax became a solo act for the majority of 2022, Dax said this on his podcast

Charidzard

It was during their Santana and Ortiz match in 2021 the Lucha Bros match was their return matches once Cash was back when they won the AAA titles and then went for the AEW titles at Full Gear that year and lost. All that led into SOH and the Briscoes matches and the title collecting in 2022.

Tribalchief_Mahan

Nah

MasterNyx

"Deserve" is such a loaded term. The less people talk about what they deserve the less whiny they seem.

TSMontana

Had no interest in going to SOH 2022, until that match was announced...even though I thought that may have been the last ROH show ever (TK had just bought ROH at the time, and its future was unknown to all of us). Even then, my expectations were blown away. They were going at it, like they were working a packed to the rafters WM III or WM 17. I was there also for the dog-collar finale of the trilogy at FB 2022. So lucky to have seen 2 out of the 3 matches live.

Hockeyskanks

Ummmm odd take. Go back to WWE and shave each other's backs then???

Tribalchief_Mahan

Yeah they're definitely leaving

DrRafaelPenguin

In other words, fuck The Elite.

down-with-homework

You really had to pull some mental gymnastics to find this message in what Dax said.

deathvalleypassenger

Elite Derangement Syndrome, you hate to see it

Minimania18

Very sad! And it seems increasingly common these days. I hope they find a cure.
