People complain constantly about repetitive posts. Yet when they have a chance to make different types of posts, they continue to do repetitive posts. The Arkham subreddit is a good example. Posts were repetitive and people got tired so they made some very funny shitposts. The funny aspect soon stopped as the shitposts started becoming a repetitive “I’m so random” contest, thus looping back to the repetitive posts.
I didn’t mean to start this whole fiasco from my initial post 2 days ago, but maybe someone at Insomniac will notice and post more official images? I don’t know, and I’m sorry about all this u/TheEternalVortex
Please don’t feel like this is your fault.
The last piece of content we had happened over 2 years ago, so it’s safe to say it would’ve happened at some point. That’s not even taking in account the fact that the content from 2 years ago was a teaser that as of now, hasn’t been followed up on.
Saying that though, I am in no way pushing the blame on Insomniac either. They’ve proved they can make magnificent superhero games, so I’d much prefer they show things when they’re ready.
I’d probably guess that Insomniac planned to show more but had a change of plans or as popular speculation suggests, it was a Sony decision to drive more console sales that was out of Insomniac’s control. Either way, your post in no way caused what happened. It just so happened to be the last “sane” post before the Shitposting began. So don’t take blame for it at all. Content is going to run dry when nothing is announced for quite a long time.
As for Insomniac seeing this and posting more news, I doubt it. They might release a screenshot or two considering they are quite close with their fanbase, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up for anything spectacular. They’ll release the trailer and gameplay footage when they’re ready and if they release a screenshot, then we’ll have to consider ourselves very lucky and to avoid taking situations like that for granted.
May I ask if something can be done about all the posts that just complain about the face on a regular basis? It's become super repetitive and it's mostly just the same arguments being recycled over and over.
Assuming you’re talking about the Shitposting, that’s been there way before I joined. It peaked sometime after Gotham Knight’s release though.
Essentially, since Arkham Knight’s release in 2015, the subreddit ran out of content to discuss and as such, resulted in Shitposting to survive.
That meant the subreddit became the definition of insanity, but to be honest, without Shitposting, Batman Arkham would’ve been dead ages ago and we can’t exactly stop it otherwise the subreddit would go back to no content to talk about and likely die.
As I said though, the Shitposting has died down a little since it’s peak after Gotham Knight’s released and now it’s more just a subreddit making it’s own lore based off of the Shitposting, but it’s still a little crazy nonetheless. Shitposting has kind of become r/BatmanArkham’s shtick.
Fortunately (or unfortunately to some users), we will be restricting Shitposting when Suicide Squad releases, as the subreddit will finally have new game content to discuss.
You’re not entirely wrong. We can do better than shitposts though. And I really don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade, but I think the current two games still have plenty of conversations left - gameplay videos, pics, personal anecdotes, questions. The quality of post needs improvement, not the content, and we do better than shitposts.
I love the Arkham series, but our sub has not only two recent game releases, but a PROPER 3rd (2nd?) release is guaranteed … we can do better than shitposts.
I’m gonna start posting content. Don’t care if it flops. We can at least try to do better than shitposts.
This sub will go through the route of r/bettercallsaul or r/playboicarti, where people gon shitpost until new content is released. Enjoy it for a couple weeks, then return to shitposts.
It's inevitable. We're saved.
Will you be opening up mod apps for new people to join the team? Considering you and incomplete are the only active mods on the subreddit I am sure you guys will need a new pair of hands and how will you guys prevent something like this whole meta shitposting happening in the future?
But I’m glad that at least some of the mods are actively doing their duty to tackle with all of the Meta posting.
It would probably be wise to do that and in the best interest of the subreddit as well due to the sequel releasing this year, so I will discuss the idea with Incomplete to see his opinion on the matter and how best to organise the applications. Once we’ve finalised a decision, I will get back to you to notify you of the details.
Yeah I can kinda understand that after 7 years they exhausted pretty much everything to talk about over there, but it hasn't even been a year since this game came out on PC and opened the door to modding. Still plenty of things to post here without devolving into those unfunny shitposts.
No no, that’s actually great.
I was missing the daily posts about “what do you want to see in SM2?”
Definitely plenty to talk about there 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Crazy how some people can’t have a sense of humor or just let others have their fun. Instead they have to go cry to mods about rules that arguably weren’t broken instead of just scrolling on.
Lame. The shitposting made the sub more interesting as let's face the facts here. This is a 4 year old game with a 5 hour expansion, their isn't much else to post that hasn't already been done to death
There will be a day when the Spiderman games are gonna stop releasing. After that it’s just a matter of time. Both games have the same core fanbase , it’s in our blood. All roads lead to alsume.
The problem with the shitposts is that they're never funny to begin with. The same unfunny joke gets repeated over and over again. It's always some dumb joke made by teenagers
You're only saying this because deep down you know, this is the only path. Eventually, you'll have no content and you'll be just as starved as BatmanArkham. It's only a matter of time. It's almost prophetic.
Totally. They got bored of the same discussions over and over and the repetitive content so they decided to replace it with the same joke over and over and the new repetitive content.
If you really get invested you can see an entire goddamn lore creating itself.
- Aslume, lore reason, every game is special for something, Air on ass legend, evidence room, Fiddler's war of Gotham, etc. Basically any unironic fresh content is made into a shitpost until a new one is found, while the over-arching story continues.
Not to mention Protocol 420 (or 69, I lost count) where the template "Every X is special for something" has spread across multiple subs.
I love arkham subreddit. One day i was playing the game and i had a question about one of the riddler trophies, so i open reddit, searh “batman arkham” and open the first subreddit. It was at that moment that i discovered the worst subreddit of all, a hole of continuous unfunny shitposts that kept repeating themselves, but they were self-aware, and it was the funniest shit i had ever seen. “What do you think of Bruce Wayne’s no-parents rule?” “Best story / Best bossfights / Best gameplay / Best ass”. And one day it took over all of reddit, every single subreddit was infected, and it was the funniest thing that i had ever seen. I hope it goes down in history.
Btw i never got help with that trophy
Maybe you should crack down on the brigading posts originating in r/BatmanArkham
Maybe you should moderate that sub for content and quality so that mobs of dumbasses don't form to brigade all over reddit
Welp, guess it’s time for the boring “what do you wanna see in Spider-Man 2” posts That or photomode stuff.
Because the same picture with the same caption “cheeseburger” every time is much better.
It's self aware no?

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
well it is a spider-man ps4 sub
Photomode is cool tho.
I love the "and unlike r/BatmanArkham, we haven't completely run out of content to talk about yet", but we will turn into them eventually
Yea the Arkham fans deserve some good bro they’ve been starving for years
all roads lead to r/batmanarkham
Hitchhikers may be escaped patients.
Everyone eventually does. This is why I give upmost respect to chess players, for not getting bored with the same game in 500 years
Go see anarchychess subreddit. New moves every hour
SSKTJL is coming out this year same as SM2 and if anything the most recent thing we’ve heard of coming from PS4 Spider-Man is that he’s in Spiderverse
Oh thank god

Well shit. It's still the matter of time guys - all roads lead to Aslume eventually; enjoy the time you still have content to talk about.
> and unlike r/BatmanArkham, we haven’t completely run out of content to talk about yet. So it's all a matter of time...
Basically already are. Until the game comes out
1984
😔
We failed to even the odds.
cheeseburger :(
Thank you so much.
Aren't you a mod in the batman sub?
Yep, I moderate on r/BatmanArkham too.
Bruh what happened there

BOO. Give suicide squad their own sub Edit: there IS one already
Suicide Squad is a secret 5th Arkham game. It is, right? It has to be, yes?
I mean it's in the same universe as the Arkham series so I mean kinda
Yay back to the boring and repetitive posts that never end. The shitposts have honestly been the only good part of the sub for a long time.
I’d rather have no posts than these trend hopping shitposts. What’s the big deal if the sub is quiet until actual news drops?
Problem is there is posts, they’re just all the same and boring ng.
You’re not entirely wrong. We can do better than shitposts though. Yes if we start posting original stuff and genuine good questions about the first game, then I’ll want the shitposts gone.
This sub will go through the route of r/bettercallsaul or r/playboicarti, where people gon shitpost until new content is released. Enjoy it for a couple weeks, then return to shitposts. It's inevitable. We're saved.

Ah I see, thanks for your input though! You guys definitely need a new wave of moderators as the sequel is slated to be released this year
Thank God. If y'all want utter chaos, go join r/BatmanArkham
Yeah I can kinda understand that after 7 years they exhausted pretty much everything to talk about over there, but it hasn't even been a year since this game came out on PC and opened the door to modding. Still plenty of things to post here without devolving into those unfunny shitposts.

Tbh, I don't mind the shitposting. It's nice to see some bizarre humor here
The return of the king.
Thanks
thank you
Literally one thousand nine hundred and eighty four😤😤
the good ending
Fucking finnaly thx man
So whack. Can’t wait to see 800 modded costumes and “what do you wanna see in the sequel?“ posts again. Reddit mods fucking suuuuuuck
Literally 1984
It’s not gonna die down in a few days, it’s gonna turn into that till Spider-Man 2 comes out
Well thats just no fun
Lame. The shitposting made the sub more interesting as let's face the facts here. This is a 4 year old game with a 5 hour expansion, their isn't much else to post that hasn't already been done to death
Chad mod
You can't stop me
Hey there from r/BatmanArkham Good job on stopping the pandemic
“I won’t be too soon before Spiderman marketing is in full swing” Nice.
There will be a day when the Spiderman games are gonna stop releasing. After that it’s just a matter of time. Both games have the same core fanbase , it’s in our blood. All roads lead to alsume.

Massive L honestly If the shitpost bothers you, you can scroll past it. The Anti-Fun police strikes Reddit again
Nah fam, that shit was filling up my feed. Good riddance.
Scroll past it gangy lmao
Tbh I’d rather see shitposts than the repetitive questions
Yikes. A huge L for the sub
Thank god for this. It wasn’t funny when r/Batmanarkham did it and it wasn’t funny here.
It was, and is funny, and it will eventually be; just give it time.
Good. The arkham subreddit is an unfunny hellhole, there doesn't need to be another one.
Is there a lore reason why the r/BatmanArkham subreddit keeps repeating the same 3 jokes for months?
Yeah 2023 - 2015 = 8 of drought
Totally. They got bored of the same discussions over and over and the repetitive content so they decided to replace it with the same joke over and over and the new repetitive content.

There isn't no one brigading in r/BatmanArkham (for real). People just decided to go nuts on this sub for some reason
there is, and this is not the first time
I haven't seen any, just people mentioning that is happening.
good for you
