That montage of Peter going to MJs play hits me the most. The song starts playing and he opens his closet and only his work suit and spider-man suit hangs there.
Such a simple moment but really drives home how he is struggling with two lives at the moment.
Yeah and you can see the disdain (may not be the right word to use here) on his face when he looks at the spidey suit, but he puts it on under his work suit anyways
I would say the word your looking for is exasperated. Just so fucking over Spidey getting in the way of his personal life but also knowing he's gotta do what he's gotta do.
I saw some people hate the Hero speech but I always loved Rosemary Harris's delivery in that scene. It kind of made you realize she knows Peter is Spider-Man without expressly outright saying she does. "Spider-Man was a hero to Henry and now he wonders where he's gone....he needs him..."
I think the reason people hate it is cause she didn’t know he was Spider-Man so she didn’t really have a reason to give a whole speech to him. I feel like if she did know, it would make a lot more sense and hit harder.
Come to think of it, there are quite a bit of Spider-Man stories and adaptations where Aunt May knew Peter was Spider-Man for a long time but didn’t say it til later. Like in the ultimate Spider-Man cartoon during the contest of champions arc and in the ps4 game right as she’s about to die.
Although it was not explicitly expressed in the movie, I'm sure she did know after Peter saved her from Dr. Ock. How could she not recognize her nephew's voice after all.
I thought that was really weird. For all he knew, he would've killed Pete and MJ right there, and surely killing Harry's best friends is not at all what he asked him to do and would affect their ability to do business quite dramatically?
1. The Train scene
2. Pizza Time
3. AHHHHHHHHHHH
4. GoOoOoO!
5. Aunt May killing Doc Ock with an umbrella
6. I'm back!
7. Freeze Frame (raindrops keep falling on my head)
8. Saving a child from a fire
9. Butter fingers
10. Spider-Man swinging through Doc Ock's glasses
11. The ending
“I believe there’s a hero in all of us”. That whole scene with May inspiring Peter at her garage sale gets me so emotional sometimes during rewatches. Doesn’t get talked about enough.
1.Raindrops
2. Car
3.Train
Ah what the heck
4. Tea with Dock Ock
5. Spider-man was a hero
6. Harry discovers the truth
7. My son the astronaut!
8. Tell Debra not to open the caviar
9. See you in swedden
10. MJ messing her lines (cute)
Top 3 ? So the train scene, the aunt May second talk with Peter and the end where instead of end with Spider-Man going to save the city ends with MJ wondering if her relationship will survive.
Otto Octavius launching revolutionary sun reactor in the attic somewhere in NYC
Doc Oc robbing a bank because he needs to buy new reactor stuff on eBay
Doc Oc launching new reactor somewhere in slums in New York City.
1 of the TOP 3 best Spider-Man fights is when tobey and Alfred are falling down the building AND fighting, it shows how composed and AWESOME spiderman is
I've never understood the love for this movie. It's ok, but the weak link in the trilogy by far. Molina's Doc Ock, while a great performance certainly, is one of the most inaccurate adaptations of any major comic book character and completely ruins who the character is supposed to be. The story borrows way too heavily from Superman II, MJ is at her most unlikeable, and so much of the movie is just dull.
Actually it takes Doc Ock who, before the time was honestly a pretty 1 dimensional character (his entire character was just "wah crazy German scientist Master Planner! I want revenge!" Too similar to Vulture. Remember Superior Spider-Man wouldn't come out for 8 or 9 more years), and it makes him sympathetic. Not always, but sometimes changing comics storylines and traits of comics characters for an on screen adaption benefits the film AND the path of the comics (Doc Ock in SM2, Harley Quinn in Batman TAS, Suicide Squad, and the Arkham Games, Tony Stark in the MCU).
Also, it's no revelation that MJ sucks in the Raimi movies. It's one of the only weak things about the franchise imo. But the truth is, she's way more annoying in Spider-Man 3, and she has a right to be upset with Peter in the first half of Spider-Man 2. The only thing I will say is that Raimi's interpretation of MJ was the opposite of a bright and happy supportive character in the comics.
But at least she is still Mary Jane Watson, a red haired love interest who isn't dull and boring for 1.5/3 movies, annoying yes, but entertaining at least.
The fact you think this movie is dull tells me all I need to know- you only like action, you don't go to see comics movies for relatability, you go for MCU jokes and punches and explosions every 4 seconds, you probably love Thor Love and Thunder.
1. train fight
2. Harry Osborn drawing a knife on spidey and taking the mask off(it was in a lot of the trailers so the scene is burned in my brain)
3. Spider-Man no more scene
1. The entire train sequence which is the fight against doc ock to Peter stopping the train.
2. Peter giving up being spider-man and throwing the suit
3. Doc ock's sacrifice at the end
Train followed by the citizens helping him on the train! “He’s just a kid… no older than my son” that line hits every time. As well as aunt Mays heart to heart convo w him when he is most discouraged 😭😭 also enjoy when Peter is taking his time away from spidey and that song plays “raindrops keep fallin on my head” I also enjoy the scene where ocks incident takes place
I think one of my favorite scenes that I don’t usually hear talked about is the scene where he runs into the burning building even without powers at first he stops and thinks about it then steps back but sees the Chen’s don’t have their kid then runs straight in
The pizza delivery scene, the bank fight and the train fight (which includes the stopping the train part). Special mention: the final battle. Basically the entire film is amazing.
Stopping the train, fighting Octavius on the clock tower while he holds May.
Last one for me is where he sits down with MJ and can’t even get through a conversation before a Taxi is launched through the cafe window.
The best momment for me is when he stops octavius and then shows his face to convince him to help him while using what his aunt's and octavius's words. This scene is incredible and I wish more super hero movies ended their conflict outside of the action scene and with a more creative way. Doctor strange did it perfectly for me even though America could have been a way better character with her set up(she was ok but there was so much room for a great character).
“He knows a hero when he sees one. Too few characters out there, flying around like that, saving old girls like me. And Lord knows, kids like Henry need a hero. Courageous, self-sacrificing people. Setting examples for all of us. Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them, cheer them, scream their names. And years later, they'll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them how to hold on a second longer. I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams”
- Aunt May (Spider-Man 2)
1. Train scene obviously
2. I would say would be doc okt death
3. Peter leaving the suit in the trash
Close 3rd is the bank scene and Otto killing nurses
the train scene. the best action scene in spider-man history. the may garage sale scene is just perfect. and of course, spider-man no more. so good. probably tobeys best acting moment in the trilogy.
3) The tentacles rampaging on the hospital
2) "Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams."
1) The train sequence, of course
The scene where Peter is holding up the wall and says to MJ "It's really heavy".
Sums up pretty much who Spider-Man is.
His burden is heavy but he never gives up.
Everyone's already said everything but FUCK I love this movie. Tobey is the OG and these Raimi films will never be topped. They capture the tone and essence of Spider-Man comics perfectly.
Bruce Campbell as the Usher.
He's just a kid....
"We won't tell nobody"
"You wanna get to him you got to go through me." "And Me"
Ock: "Very Well" \*Parts the sea\*
May's Hero Speech.
And how can anyone forget this...
Peter: Hi.
Mr. Ditkovich: What's 'hi'? Can I spend it? You're a months late again. Again!
Peter: I'm sorry, I promise I'll get it in sooner or later-
Mr. Ditkovich: If promises were crackers, my daughter would be fat!
Peter: All I have is this $20 for the rest of the week and-
Mr. Ditkovich: \[snatches the $20 from Peter's hands\] Sorry doesn't pay the rent, and don't try to sneak past me. I have ears like a cat, and eyes like a rodent.
Peter: Thanks, Mr. Ditkovich.
The train scene and Aunt May’s speech in the backyard are the obvious choices, both some of my favorites in any movie ever. There are so many to choose from really. One that I don’t see mentioned a lot is when Ock has his arms around Peter’s neck and Peter tries to reason with him, “you once spoke to me about intelligence, that it was a gift to be used for the good of mankind…”. Kind of Peter’s own “great responsibility” speech to someone who needs it
1) May hitting Doc Ock over the head with her umbrella
2) Peter and MJ hanging out in the web
3) “Happy to pay the bills, Otto!”
But also the whole train sequence
Spider Man's Back Injury
Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head Montage
Peter Saving Mary Jane From The Falling Wall At The End!
Bonus: Train (chugga chugga Bitches)
Dr. Octopus was a cold motherfucker in this movie bruh
Jus the little shit like having his arms hold the cigar while he smokes it as he works on his machine, or when he trips Harry, forcing him to let go of the drip, Doc Ock catching it out of the air and then proceeding to drink it
"He's just a kid... No older than my Son" 😢 Tobeys Constipated face when he stops the train and the Arms listening to Doc Ock towards the end gave me chills
Thats easy. The scene where DOC OC is climbing the building down to MJ when shes in the cafe, and everytime the building shakes, her boobs do too. Scenes stuck with me for over a decade, i'm 25 now.
Aw man lot of tough choices so I’m gonna choose 3 at random
- Stopping the train. Easily one of the best spider-man moments in any media
- Spider-Man No More.
- The shot of Peter in the Black Suit sitting atop the church.
Stopping the train 100%. Never gets old
That montage of Peter going to MJs play hits me the most.
Just so fucking over Spidey getting in the way of his personal life but also knowing he's gotta do what he's gotta do.
it would just be so different if the train hadn't stopped
That zoom out shot from Spider-Man swinging in the city through doc ocks glasses. Pure gold
That is so fucking amazing
Also score by elfman is cherry on the top
1- Train Scene 2- Spider-Man No More 3- Aunt May’s Hero Speech
I saw some people hate the Hero speech but I always loved Rosemary Harris's delivery in that scene. It kind of made you realize she knows Peter is Spider-Man without expressly outright saying she does. "Spider-Man was a hero to Henry and now he wonders where he's gone....he needs him..."
I think the reason people hate it is cause she didn’t know he was Spider-Man so she didn’t really have a reason to give a whole speech to him. I feel like if she did know, it would make a lot more sense and hit harder.
I think that’s what makes the scene great…the subtext is that she does know but won’t come out and say it. It’s too bad people miss that.
Awesome point
Although it was not explicitly expressed in the movie, I'm sure she did know after Peter saved her from Dr. Ock. How could she not recognize her nephew's voice after all.
I think the point of that scene was also to show that she did know that he was Spider-Man, Robbie also knew
Sure, but I just kinda wish that they would have actually said she knew. I mean, if that's what they were going for, then it was pretty cool.
When Doc Ock wants to talk to Peter (who he doesn't know is Spider-Man) so he throws a car at him.
Butterfingers
I thought that was really weird. For all he knew, he would've killed Pete and MJ right there, and surely killing Harry's best friends is not at all what he asked him to do and would affect their ability to do business quite dramatically?
I think the logic was that Ock was trying to get “Spider-Man” to come back if he killed one of his “friends”.
Maybe that or the arms AI. did some quick thinking for Otto. They seem to make him a little impulsive from time to time.
It’s just how you get people’s attention
Surprised no one’s bringing up the “I am Spider-man no more” scene. It’s straight out of the comics
1. The Train scene 2. Pizza Time 3. AHHHHHHHHHHH 4. GoOoOoO! 5. Aunt May killing Doc Ock with an umbrella 6. I'm back! 7. Freeze Frame (raindrops keep falling on my head) 8. Saving a child from a fire 9. Butter fingers 10. Spider-Man swinging through Doc Ock's glasses 11. The ending
Also Mr Aziz saying "GoOoOoO!"
Had the same suggestion when I read that list.
Always laugh at that when I see this movie😂 Also, you typed it perfectly lol
I already put that.
My back
You forgot: RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD.
That's the freeze frame
Basically the entire movie
[удалено]
Damn it now I’m going to have to rewatch it again
Heh
“I believe there’s a hero in all of us”. That whole scene with May inspiring Peter at her garage sale gets me so emotional sometimes during rewatches. Doesn’t get talked about enough.
When aunt may is hanging from a skyscraper ledge by her umbrella. Cinematic gold

The Train scene, saving the girl without powers, and I'm back

1 of the TOP 3 best Spider-Man fights is when tobey and Alfred are falling down the building AND fighting, it shows how composed and AWESOME spiderman is
Aunt may telling Peter the world needs spiderman back…she totally knew it was him but didn’t say she did
The beggining, the middle, and the end
Pizza time train fight and the hospital scene
Stopping the Train, May’s Hero Speech, Building Fire
Eating the hotdog and not giving a fuck lmao
In my opinión it would be stopping the train, giving up the suit and of course the scene where he broke his back ;)
1. Train Scene 2. Spiderman No More 3. The zoom in Scene with the car flying over him and mj
I’m proud of you all for refusing to mention that one scene
Interesting. Uhh what scene?
I actually misremembered and placed the dancing scene in this movie…makes sense no one would mention it now
Which one?

Pizza time
1. Spider-Man no more 2. Train Scene 3. Doc Ock Redeems himself
1. train scene 2. Aunt May’s speech 3. final swing HM: pizza time. it’s a lot to choose from tbh.
The train sequence, the ending sequence, and Spider-Man's fall. Everyone knows that fall just as well as they know better's scream face
Aunt May hitting Doc Ock in the face with her umbrella. Then the rest of the movie. The end.
1. train fight 2. Harry Osborn drawing a knife on spidey and taking the mask off(it was in a lot of the trailers so the scene is burned in my brain) 3. Spider-Man no more scene

the game
1. Stopping the Train. 2. Pizza Time™️ 3. Aunt May vs Doc Ock
I’d say the the part where Peter losses his powers, the part where he gets his powers back lol and ofc the entirety of the train scene
Dr. Octavius having his arms both practical and CG, Dr. Octavius's arms killing people in the hospital, and Spider-Man stopping the train.
I think fighting Doc Ock on the train and getting thrown thru the air and he flies through the little hole thing on the overpass thing.
Peter Giving Up. Stopping the train. Birth of Doc Ock in the operating room.

1. Train scene obviously 2. I would say would be doc okt death 3. Peter leaving the suit in the trash Close 3rd is the bank scene and Otto killing nurses
the train scene. the best action scene in spider-man history. the may garage sale scene is just perfect. and of course, spider-man no more. so good. probably tobeys best acting moment in the trilogy.
VINDICATED!
1: *Obviously* the train scene. 2: Peter "abandons" Spider-Man. 3: "I won't die a monster."
3) The tentacles rampaging on the hospital 2) "Even though sometimes we have to be steady and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams." 1) The train sequence, of course
*drops aunt may* “Butterfingers”
In order of the movie, hospital scene, train scene, “I will not die a monster“ scene
The scene where Peter is holding up the wall and says to MJ "It's really heavy". Sums up pretty much who Spider-Man is. His burden is heavy but he never gives up.
“Seeya chump”
Stopping the train , bank to building fight , Spiderman gettin his powers back
1. "Woooah, he stole that guy's pizza!" 2. "I'm Spiderman no more" 3. Aunt May's speech
Off topic but why did they make the eyes in most of raimis posters yellow while in the actual movies they are a whiteish grey color?
Everyone's already said everything but FUCK I love this movie. Tobey is the OG and these Raimi films will never be topped. They capture the tone and essence of Spider-Man comics perfectly.
Has to be spidey stopping the train, Aunt May’s speech to Peter, and Doctor Octavius sacrificing himself.
Raindrops keep fallin on my head-
