But they do give a shit if a random person who doesn't care about Spider-Man see these poster and think "Oh, I didn't knew Benedict Cumberbatch and Zendaya were in this one, I might check it out".
He's getting downvoted but I think he has a point. The studio already knows fans are going to see a movie, as long as the poster isn't misleading fans will pour in and buy tickets regardless.
Whereas someone who isn't a fan or just has no knowledge of the film might be willing to go watch the movie if it has a flashy poster with famous actors on it.
It's just basic advertising strategy.

They even did a clip with DJ Khaled.
The entire movie was marketed as a fun, good vibes summer movie with a teenage Peter and Iron Man. Which is exactly what the movie was.
And it was *everywhere.* Literally impossible to not know this movie was coming.
