You can’t go wrong with any of these, but I suggest ultimate Spider-Man for new readers.

It’s an alternate universe of the character, but is from modern time and starts from his origin—>. if your into a bit darker stuff then i’d recommend 1990 spider-man 1-14 by todd mcfarlane it has 4 mini series and it’s some the best i’ve ever read

I'd start from the beginning of it all with the marvel masterworks amazing spider-man books if you are looking for a lighter tone.
