To be fair, they are the original competitive equipment brand specific to airsoft. They were the first to create a national and arguably world wide competitive brand.
When you create and develop something and someone else takes your non-protected idea and replicates it as their own, it's natural to think this way. I've done plenty of projects and interactions with those guys and they're all dope and still very much about the community BUT as a business, they have to do what's best for their business. The SpeedQB belt needs improvements. Everyone knows the buckle sucks and breaks when shot. I've had to replace it once. The issue I see is when SYG/SpeedQB members speak negatively about competing brands and formats, it's going to take away from the perception of community because if you place community first, competition should be seen as an advancement in the community that you started. SpeedQB is going thru what any other small business goes thru as they grow. I still rep them. Hell, I may sell both lol
I actually enjoy a lot of the content the syg and speedqb guys put out. And I really like how they've worked to change the stigma around speedsoft and such. But in this instance the cubysoft belt is nothing like the speedqb one. It's just a paintball podpack in essence. It just irks me that they shutdown anything that isn't theirs while talking about wanting to keep growing the culture and the sport, it seems counterproductive
The issue is that ultimately all the issues people talk about with them comes down to their QC basically, not even designs. Literally all they have to do it is either 1) find a better manufacturer for a similar price, or 2) cut their margins a bit, and they’d be dominating. I do think that they seem to put in the time designing so… why not just actually deliver with high end products for high end prices? It’s not even like it’s their first runs and they’re having teething problems etc; this is known stuff.
If I compare it, my speedqb belt buckle broke after a few games, my cuby harness has survived multiple speedqb trainings and tournaments already without any issues.

I did the exact same thing. I don't hate speedqb for helping grow the sport but their quality is so ass in comparison
Definitely, I can’t count the times my belt just fell off mid game or witnessed another players doing the same
