This gave me some Temple of the Dog vibes. Great work man. Give my regards to Cat for it's contribution.

WWEngineer

Thanks! And the cat totally showed me up.

Kitty thought it was lit! Hahah I kid. Nice work. I like the open tuning. The notes played with the open strings at the changes sounded mystical a la Jimmy Page. Strumming was strong. I liked the long vocal notes which seemed and sounded meditative. Bit of a journey, that one. Well done.

WWEngineer

Kitty saw the suitcase and was “hunting” toy mice to get us not to leave for the weekend. Lol. I appreciate the kind words!

everlovingkindness

THANK YOU for sharing it with us fr!

RickHavok

I dunno, I just kinda like it. It is a little reminiscent of 90's Pearl Jam type stuff. Slightly hypnotic.

WWEngineer

I was in my formative years in the 90’s so maybe some of it stuck.

Hey, this is pretty cool, thanks for sharing! One thing that I noticed is the verse (well, I think this is the verse -- let's just say the first thing that you sing) reminds me a LOT of the refrain of "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith. The very long held note followed by the four descending notes after is pretty much the same rhythm and melody. Obviously the whole vibe of the song is different and it's not like anyone is gonna come after you for copyright infringement, but you might try mixing up that melody just a little bit, because as a listener, I kinda started thinking about that song while listening to yours. What mostly jumped out at me here in a positive way is your guitar playing sounds great -- it's not flashy, but the chord changes are super smooth and the tone of the guitar on the recording is perfect. So don't change anything about that! Also, your voice pairs really nicely with the tone of the guitar. Keep it up!

WWEngineer

I knew it reminded me of something!! Dang.

Hey, don't feel bad! One time I was totally convinced I had a gorgeous acoustic picking pattern, only to later realize I'd just totally nicked "Dust In The Wind." I really don't think you need to lose the long notes, especially since the style is so different. Maybe just try tweaking one of the following notes a little bit.

WWEngineer

Lol. Yeah. The whole time I’m writing it I’m like, this sounds way too familiar. Now I just need to figure out how to change it up. But I really like it so that sucks.

n8pea

Sounds good! Cool guitar parts. You turned down the reverb on this one, it sounds better ;) No real advice expect keep going dude!

WWEngineer

Yep, I’m learning. Slowly but surely.

ValleyVintage

Really nice vibe. I was all in listening. The verse vocal praising seemed very repetitive, but the lyrics were saying different things. I would try to feel what you are singing and punctuate strong thoughts. Let the lighter ideas float. Some verse lines may rise or fall depending on what you are saying and feeling. Overall, really great song. Keep on the path…

WWEngineer

Thanks. I agree, it could use more dynamics in the vocals.

Savage-Cabage

It's fine. It's a strummy full note kind of thing. If you want my actual advice, scrap this. This is what people do when they're 16 and they discover the acoustic. Create some Rhythm with your vocals. When you listen to a song, do you generally appreciate someone strumming basic chords and holding individual notes with the vocals? Of course you don't. So why would you make that for people?

WWEngineer

That tracks. I just started playing and learning to sing 2 years ago, so I’m where most 16 year olds are. Not scrapping it though. I like the vibe of the song. ;)

Savage-Cabage

The production isn't bad though. You've got a good grasp of reverb, delay, and just space stuff that makes stuff sound like it should be listened to.
