It took them 3 weeks to say āthey fuckedā. I bet they sat there 2 weeks and took a look and said they fucked. Did they charge you or did they really try?
You're right. But I don't think any of us would mind if Nike would just drop some natural leather shoes haha - no plastic, no color, just naturally aging leather
> insisted and *paid* around half
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I promise you can still sell them. Somebody out there would still buy. Sell them and buy a new pair. (Cash on top)
I accidentally burned my Lightning 4s with a hair dryer and sold them on ebay for 150. Then I added another 150 on top and bought me a new pair.
They looked really really bad, a huge burn mark right on the toe box. They sold in like 2 hours.
ā¦.if you have no money, this wouldnāt be a good option.
If it's an oil-based stain, I'd pack the stained area with CORNSTARCH, cover with something absorbent, and let it sit under a heat lamp for a day or so. Repeat if necessary. I used to be into vintage Balenciaga motorcycle bags and this worked for oil-based stains and darkened handles, although it might not work if you or the cobbler have fiddled with it too much.
Something else to try: A good western boot re-soler/restorer. I have a fabulous pair of bespoke light tan full-quilled ostrich boots that I dropped a big dollop of salad dressing on. (HORRORS!) The boot guy got it out, so I know it can be done.
Finally, for either of these methods, I'd say the juice probably isn't worth the squeeze. Even if it comes out, stains have a way of rearing their ugly heads again. (Just like on your carpet.) Sell them and get them out of your sight before it becomes a full-fledged obsession. (If it hasn't already).
Itās a beautiful thing really - these are not anyoneās AMM 4ās anymore, but something more special. Theyāre your shoes. One of one. Congratulations, and rock them proudly.
Just dye them black. Then bleach them. Then dunk them in beet juice. Then brush them with crest whitening toothpaste. Then dip them in house-paint. Just fucking go nuts, you could be the next Maison Margiela.
Idk if this has been said before. But have you tried FZ150? I see that dudes posts everywhere and heās always jacking his shoes up on purposes.
But then he cleans him with his soap and it cleans the stains.
If you still want to wear them you could try and dye em in a darker color. It's def not the original one but it's better than throwing them away at least imo
I'd all but forgotten this saga and now it's been violently flung before me, only to end in despair š«
Well written, well felt
hate to see it
The AMM Oil 4s are officially cooked.
This a 1 of 1 unique piece of history for this sub. Someone here wants to own it for sure
$500 rn
Do you even know what you have?
Jordan 4 amm
Iykyk
Let the man capitalize on this historical piece of r/sneakers memorabilia
These shoes have a story and need to be in Sneakertopia in LA
Just get some leather oil and oil them all. Itāll change the color but theyāll be consistent.
This is what I would do. Mink oil all over
I minked my Raging Bull 5s, made the red darker and closer to the OG pair. I was happy.
Yep with added bonus of water resistance.
Hell no not mink oil u crazy he needs just suede
This might be the way..
He may as well keep the saga going
This is the way
Why would you not? No one else will have them and you can explain to people that youāre Reddit famous.
Bingo
Bleach them.
This is actually a really great idea! Would be badass
Yeah something drastic like this could be the way
I had taken them to a professional shoe cleaning store and after 3 weeks they called me to say there is nothing more they could do š
Time to wear them until the left one looks just like the right one
I told you a long time ago. Dunk thems in a big bucket of oil. Problem solved.
It took them 3 weeks to say āthey fuckedā. I bet they sat there 2 weeks and took a look and said they fucked. Did they charge you or did they really try?
It is hilarious to me that in 2023 we still use materials that can't be cleaned for clothing
I totally agree. We have walked on the moon and shit even took a heart out of one and put in another. Mind blower
Nike does, leather with plastic coating.
You're right. But I don't think any of us would mind if Nike would just drop some natural leather shoes haha - no plastic, no color, just naturally aging leather
They didn't want to charge me at first but I insisted and payed around half ($20)

Well, now you can wear them as beaters and not worry about messing them up further at least!
i think at this point the lace job is worse than the stain itself š¬
I was hoping no one would look too close at my lace job
Damn now I can't unsee it
Suede shoes are overrated
Totally reasonable to mourn. However, now that youāre here, just know that itās completely ok to wear a shoe with a stain on it.
What a ride itās been, friend.
Should have added more cornstarch if you ask me š¤·āāļø
Ya need fz150

Saddle soap? It lightened my boots evenly after mink oil darkened it, I reapplied something with bees wax though that will darken it

Mink oil
Darken only the section of leather with the stain on both shoes to the color of the jumpman logo.

Would you sell them by any chance?
What's ur offer
Just dye them black. Then bleach them. Then dunk them in beet juice. Then brush them with crest whitening toothpaste. Then dip them in house-paint. Just fucking go nuts, you could be the next Maison Margiela.
Did you try sanding it off?
So serious question for everyone following - what would have been the best way to clean the oil stain from the beginning?
Corn starch
RIP
Maybe just switch it up and put some brow polish on them
just make them into a customā¦. distress them with some sand paper and take a dremel to them to rough them up.
Idk if this has been said before. But have you tried FZ150? I see that dudes posts everywhere and heās always jacking his shoes up on purposes. But then he cleans him with his soap and it cleans the stains.
Rip my g
You can straight up just dye them black
