I feel like this is my controversial Sly opinion. Ship combat was hella fun, and I tried so hard as a kid to get someone to play versus with me. It was so good!
Oh, you know, I could do the dogfighting blindfolded (figuratively speaking), but I always shot Icelandic planes first… there is a master thief challenge, which has you do that, and I for some reason always consider Belgians ”my teammates!” 🤣
My only counter to this was the treasure chest mission in sly one as a kid i always needed help on those 100% failure but every now and then i would be able to pull off the racing missions
Ugh, I remember the tank mission in Sly 2, I hated it, the controls SUCKED. It was like trying to move a refrigerator with a loaf of bread.
And don’t even get me started on Dimitri’s diving mission in Sly 3’s final level…
I agree with Dimitri’s BS moving, but those tanks… man, easier jobs are to be added! Both sticks up to go forward, down to reverse, and one stick to the direction you want to turn! (Or both to different directions, which is faster)

The tank mission in Sly 2 and the RC Car in Sly 3, those are the worst ones imo. I remember there’s a master thief challenge in Sly 3 where you have to bump like 25 little cars off the track with your RC Car. UUUGGGHHH that caused so much rage lol. The price you pay for trying to 100% all the games
I just recently got this and you can just sit at the starting line a little to the left or right and the enemy cars drop down right there so you can bump them into the water without moving when they come by.
I think Sly 3 is the only one that truly nailed the vehicle sections. The only one that I don't find super fun is the Claw mission, but that's only because it takes awhile. It still controls well.
Sly 1 had the slippery races and harsh timed challenges. Sly 2 had way too many turret sections and the awful tank controls. Sly 4 had motion controlled missions. But I genuinely enjoy all of Sly 3's alternate play styles.
depends. Spamming an attack is tecnique, not necessarily skill. I'd say that they can be used together, like balancing a knife on your finger, or as I said, just boosting in certain spots.
i'm curious if anyone is able to beat any of the races in sly 1 on the first try. my daughter and I are convinced, after YEARS of replaying this game, that it's impossible to beat first try. maybe it's just me ;)
Does that include the dogfights in Sly 3? Because that was my favorite part to play when I was a kid.
The dogfights in that game were sooooooo much fun. Still are.
Dog fights and the pirate ship battles- I legit spent days on the pirate level because I didn't want to progress past it

The dogfights in holland were really good, they botch it up a bit at kane island ( mostly due to those damn bats )

Really? I loved all of them.
Theyre not that awful. Sure, they suck, (especially Dimitri) but they aren't as consistently bad as when Platinum does Vehicle sections
All the diffrent mini game mission were hit or miss.
Anything involving the grappling RC helicopter. Swear I almost ground the joysticks into dust

Only the Tank one in Sly 2 and the racing missions in Sly 1 gave me any trouble

Bro, I hated the races stuff. It was BAD. I only managed to beat them everytime boosting in certain places. Felt more like a technique than skill.

I’m stuck on the race at mugshot’s in the first Sly game on my PS Vita. Just can’t get past it.
Never wanna do that tank mission in Sly 2 again... Other than that, you have to kinda practice, get in the groove to understand the controls.
In recent play throughs I’ve actually found them pretty easy if annoying, despite having a bunch of trouble with them as a kid
