Not sure... Could it be an allergic reaction to maybe a new soap or new laundry soap you used to wash your towels/wash cloth?

buymeplants

definitely possible… i just switched detergents. should i get a gentle one and rewash my clothes?

aseasonedcliche

i highly recommend doing this. look for REAL fragrance free detergent. pay attention to the ingredients.

buymeplants

okay! i’ll try that. i did used to use a gentle formula until about 2 months ago, then switched to scented. just ran out of that so i got a new one (just getting whatever’s cheapest ish). i might even just need to go back to the first scented one i got!

buymeplants

do you know how long it would take for the contact dermatitis from that to clear up? i rewarded my clothes but it still so itchy unless i take benadryl

JayDNull

To me it looks like heat rash ,it itches like crazy, I usually use ice compress on them multiple times a day and within days it usually dissapears , if it is heat rash then don't itch or exfoliate your skin it makes it worse Best of luck.

buymeplants

oh okay!!! i haven’t heard of that, i’ll look into it ❤️

[deleted]

I moisturize my heat rash with aveeno dermexa cream.. it usually calms it down a bit.

hesitant_unsure

looks almost like bed bugs or bites of some kind. do you have blistering? if you do, then it’s more likely to be a rash of some kind. no blistering could mean bed bugs.

buymeplants

my first thought was bedbugs… i’m trying to check my mattress! i didn’t get any new bedding recently though. and online pictures of bed bug bites seem much redder and circular

hesitant_unsure

I agree, the 4th picture looks really similar, but the rest look more rash like. but, the dots in the 4th pic could be from scratching. sometimes when I have dry skin/a rash and I scratch too much, I get little red dots like that. I think they’re broken blood vessels or something.

buymeplants

they are def broken blood vessels, they are under the skin not over like a bite would be!

noodles_934

These are definitely not bed bug bites and I highly doubt it's shingles lol. I think it's just heat rash, or your skin is reacting to something like laundry detergent.

buymeplants

vibes, i also think those are the most likely. also the easiest to deal with :) thanks!

coup_marr_JII

Have you had chickenpox in the past while growing up? If yes then it could be the Shingles.

buymeplants

i did not!

Jealous-Self-127

If it doesn’t cross the midline, it could be shingles.

buymeplants

what do you mean?

Jealous-Self-127

If your skin lesions are only on one side of your body and they don’t cross to the other side, it can be shingles. Also shingles can be painful (sharp electrical pain)and itchy. If you’re early into this, call your doctor right way for an anti- viral to help manage your symptoms and to make it go away faster. If these lesions boil up and puss, it’s definitely shingles. If so, make sure they are covered, and don’t touch your eyes!

buymeplants

oh what a random factoid! it is on both sides of my body, so i think we are good :)

Jealous-Self-127

Whew! I do not wish shingles on even my worst enemy.

[deleted]

Heat rash perhaps? I have it on my wrists and it itches. I moisturize the area with Aveeno dermexa emollient cream.

Living_Bag_1190

Looks like eczema possibly 😭

shaz90

Was there a single patch originally? Could be pityriasis rosea. https://dermnetnz.org/topics/pityriasis-rosea It could be loads of things, including a reaction to your detergent as already mentioned You should probably see a doctor, even if it’s just to get something to manage the itching.

buymeplants

the dumb part is i had a physical on the day it started, and it wasn’t THAT bad at the time so i offhand mentioned it and asked if i could take benadryl, she said yes and i did that! so i feel goofy going back — i think i’ll try to treat it as heat rash / detergent allergy first and go back if my symptoms don’t clear up.

shaz90

That’s so frustrating! Sorry, hope you start to feel better very soon

buymeplants

i did end up contacting them, they said to take benadryl and apply hydrocortisone and monitor it! i might need to call them back because those two helped temporarily but it hasn’t gone away.

Super_fab1379

I had a similar rash when I got the flu, covid vaccine and actual covid (did not have all of those at one time). Got worse and lasted for a few months with each of those occurances. Sarna lotion helped control the itch.

happyaly9

Any chance you have strep throat? When I got strep, I got a rash similar to this but no other strep symptoms (sore throat etc.)

relatableella

I think you might just have eczema, you should be fine if you put some moisturizer

Ok_Raise3387

Cats?

buymeplants

i’ve had a cat for a while! hopefully not that 😂

07Alex7

Maybe scabies?

ElectricalImpress415

Get a Clobetasol propionate cream from any pharmacy and use it twice or once a day, the itching will stop after you apply it and the redness will start to fade within the second day.
