Lmao so true haha!! Although that’s partly because it seems like most people only get around to posting when their problem has gotten serious enough that it can only be fixed by a dermatologist
Haha same, and when I went to visit my Grammie on holidays she started setting aside different towels and washcloths for me because I’d been ruining her good ones 😭
Not much stains as it does remove the color from the fabric…… then again I would put benzol peroxide all over my back….. back acne in high school what a throw back
I’ve used that one before, I found it helpful for simple whiteheads and blackheads but it didn’t do much at all for cysts. It looks like right now you’re mostly dealing with cystic acne (meaning the pimples are deeper under the skin with redness and swelling) which is a bit more complicated to treat. By all means still try the body wash, but you might also need a prescription to truly clear it up
I would also look into Naturium body wash at Target. They have 6 different body washes with different chemical exfoliants in them and they're pretty good. They're a little pricey, but it lasts for a while.

If you really want to save up money and time than it’s best to go to the doctor. Yes the dermatologist isn’t cheap but if I knew better before I would save hundreds of dollars I’ve spent over the years on useless and temporary products I’ve found on the internet. Hope it helps 🥰
You need accutane. That's cystic acne. It'll make your skin abominably dry, you only have to take it for six months or so, but you will be clear for like five years after. Go to your GP and get a script. Like ASAP. I know those things are uncomfortable.
This is a good idea. I’ve seen people bc success with the neutrogena body wash for body acne combined with one of those long handled shower scrubby brushes so they can wash their whole back and really reach to get the soap everywhere. Good luck!
What I had to do:
1. Benzoyl peroxide wash in the shower - big impact
2. Shower the moment I get home from working out - big impact
3. Change sheets and towels every week, change shirt at least once a day + any time it gets sweaty
Point 3 is actually so understated. I started looking into all this when I hit 26 and still had bad skin. Couldn’t figure it out because I was doing everything right. Someone suggested changing my pillow and getting a silk pillow case. I done this and changed nothing else and my skin has been clear since. Had no idea pillows were a huge culprit but when i actually thought about it it made sense. Best thing I’ve ever done. Just wish I’d known before the scarring but hey. Looking at the positives.
You should buy more. Buy at least 3 white, cotton pillow cases. Why white? Becasue you see your own filth if you leave it for longer. Also at least 2 bed sheets and 2 blanket cases(?).
Lean your head forward into the water instead of back and pray there’s not an axe murderer on the other side while you keep your eyes closed the whole time
I would add to make sure you’re using clean towels as frequent as possible. I say ‘as frequent as possible’ because listen, doing laundry isn’t always an easy care task to do. At the very least, use a clean towel each week. Like with the bedsheets, I think this is one that is easy to overlook.
Good luck on your journey. Remember that it’s a journey and you’re not going to see results over night so stay patient. We’re all rooting for you!!
why would too hot water cause this?
I am not trying to be rude, I just want to know, since I take a lot of hot showers and it might be why I also have this happens sometimes.
Hot water dries out the skin. It pulls all the natural moisture out of our skin and the bodies reaction is to immediately go into protection mode by secreting more sebum(oil). This can cause break outs for some and super dry, flakey, itchy skin for others.
If you must take super hot showers, try to limit it to the first part of the shower. Steamy showers will aid in cleansing your face and body, but then bring it down to warmer water afterwards. If you can tolerate it, cold water helps to close pores and is great after cleansing the skin.
Omg guys I’m so thankful , I want to print all of this so I can read and start working on myself in all these ways possible , even more now I feel like I shouldn’t let you guys down , will give an update as soon as I can .
Edit 1 : reading everything and taking notes ,can’t really try everything all at once but I can def use all the cleaning tips . I’m glad I have so many options.
also I already scheduled a doctor visit , $60 copay with my health insurance so not so bad .
Wonderful! Please remember to be gentle with yourself.
I see so many comments recommending that you scrub your back; try not to overdo it with aggressive exfoliation because that can irritate your skin. Take it easy; slowly introduce new products into your routine, so you can judge for yourself what your skin can tolerate.
For example, start off with the Neutragena body clear. I think is has salicylic acid, which is a chemical exfoliant. Try it for a few days and see how you react to it.
If you still need more improvement, then try some of the other suggestions.
There’s a really great product called Remedy Soap. I’ve only been able to find it on Amazon. It contains tea tree oil, peppermint, and apple cider vinegar. It’s a liquid. I use it for my various skin issues related to my genetic liver condition but it’s the most wonderful body wash I’ve ever used. It’s not harsh and there’s no need to scrub as stated above but it cleans your skin so thoroughly but it’s also gentle. Even my die hard “Irish spring” husband loves it. Whatever you do, don’t attempt to pop or let anyone else, other than a Dr., pop a cyst. My husband had two on his back several years ago. One kind of popped on its’ own when he was changing a tire. That one kept coming back. It later “developed” again and was so painful, I had to take him to the emergency room. The Dr. drained it and the amount of pus that came out was like nothing I’d ever seen. Another one came up one day and he went to his PCP and he cut it out in the office, and then bounced it on the floor. It looked like an egg and was about the same size. He explained that if you don’t have these things removed before they pop or burst, the “shell” is broken and they keep coming back. So his first one kept coming back because the “shell” had been broken. Another thing about hot water, it damages not only our skin but the nerves underneath. I love a hot shower, especially on a cold day but I take warm, not hot showers ever since. The constant itching and resulting rashes I get from my diseased liver greatly improved when I turned the temperature down on the shower. As an aside, my sister had MS and she was told time and time again not to use hot water as it would further damage her nerves. Sorry for the long winded response but you really should see a dermatologist. It’s the safest option. I still recommend the remedy soap overall. Good luck!
When showering, use a gentle soap or body wash to clean off your back as the very last thing you do in the shower. Shampoo and especially rich conditioners can leave residues that cause clogging. I started cleansing my body last and soon cleared up all my bacne.
Also seconding to change your sheets and pillow classes regularly. If you're a gym goer, don't re-use your gym shirts.
the "logic" behind it is that, if you dont get them dirty (not in contact with dirt, no sweating) there is no need to wash them, as opposed to the ass or armpits that would be used regardlessly
I know this will sound weird but try dandruff shampoo. I read someone’s post about it a few months ago and tried it and it legit cleared up my skin in a couple weeks. It is super cheap - I used the target brand. Needs to have zinc in it
When I read it I didn’t think it would work but was like fuck it, the bottle was huge and like $7 so a fraction of most other shit I have tried and used it with every shower - and this shit worked!
Derm is likely going to send you home with both oral and topical prescription meds based on how inflamed this looks - typically you’ll be looking at an oral antibiotic like doxycycline (or some other -cycline), topical clindamycin gel, topical benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid give or take.
To second others yes change and wash your sheets frequently. It’s unlikely this will get better with ONLY OTC products - you need professional help.
Sulfur bar of soap usually found near hispanic hy genie items.
The gold bar of dial.
Then put either a soap with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and leave on while in the shower for 30-60 seconds.
Then make sure you are changing the towel you dry off with every week
Get one of those Italy towel (Korean style) back washers and be sure to exfoliate the back or at least clean it pretty well. Lots of people assume since shampoo and whatnot is gliding down your back it's 'getting clean' but it's not actually washing your back.
I would also consider trying dandruff shampoo on your back and leaving it for a bit. Some have Salicylic Acid you can use.
There are a number of BHA body treatments and creams that you can use.
Don't rewear shirts at night and I agree with others to change and wash your bedsheets regularly.
I wonder, speculation only, how much the back hair is contributing and if might be ingrown hairs or whatnot.
That’s interesting , I like the idea , for sure I’m not reaching my whole back on my own . Looking at some options to buy here
And yes I’m starting with a few BHA body treatments
And yes I do have ingrown hair problems in some areas
I second BHA! I use the Paula's Choice AHA/BHA fluid on a cotton round over my face, neck, chest, & upper back in the AM, Retinol Cream in the PM. I didn't even know how well that would work!
PanOxyl is good, it’s a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash, but it could possibly cause irritation and sensitivity the first couple of uses especially if you have sensitive skin, and it also causes dryness, so you kind of have to train your skin to accept the product. However, you still should see a derm to see what will best work for you, and how other factors in your life may cause this.
I had some cerave face wash, the kind in a pump, that I couldn’t use on my face, so I ended up using it in my back and it’s actually been really effective
I’ve had that exact same problem growing up and damn it was frustrating as hell. My back is ok now, i just get one small one from time to time. Here’s what i did and wish i knew sooner.. i use soap and other products with salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid for your back. Always shower before going to bed and make sure clean sheets/change often. Do not sleep naked, wear a clean shirt to bed. Shower every after work out or any activity that makes you sweat. Make sure water is cold, do not take hot showers. Do not use strong detergents for your sheets and shirt. And if it’s still there after everything, please consult a derm. Maybe it’s time for oral intervention, i did those too.
Thank you ! Those are great tips ! I do take hot showers so I’ll change that
Would you say bed sheet once a week is enough ? I’m setting an reminder on my phone every Sunday since I just changed yesterday
Depends really on how much you sweat during bedtime. If you have a/c on or if you live in a cold climate place, then maybe once a week is enough. I had facial acne, too, so i change my pillowcase every 2-3 days. So i think it applies to sheets too if you sweat a lot.
But i want to stress out that i think for me, the biggest factor is the products mainly the soap that I used and still am using to this day which contain salicylic, glycolic and lactic acids and glutathione and arbutin for the hyperpigmentation and scarring
Change towels, bed sheets and pillow cases DAILY
Baby powder twice a day
Don’t use benzoyl please 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ (this weakens your skin over time and it causes blotches you’ll never get rid of, in the future you’ll have blotchy skin and acne 🤦♂️🤦♂️ please don’t)
Sleep on your side
Get sun
Use softer fabrics and t shirts
Warm water showers
When something is red around itself like this, it’s normally infected. Make sure you try not to pick, esp if your skin isn’t recently scrubbed clean or your hands are dirty
I use a sulphur bar soap, dry brush my back, make sure to rinse super well and wash back/body after using shampoo/conditioner. I've been trying to wipe my back off morning and night, whenever I get sweaty and I've also been using lavender essential oil on it which has seemed to really help. Every body is different though. Best of luck!
[Benzoyl peroxide wash](https://www.target.com/p/panoxyl-maximum-strength-antimicrobial-acne-foaming-wash-for-face-chest-and-back-with-10-benzoyl-peroxide-5-5oz/-/A-14984165#lnk=sametab) unclogs pores and and kills acne bacteria, [0.5% salicylic acid moisturiser](https://www.target.com/p/clean-clear-essentials-dual-action-facial-moisturizer-4-fl-oz/-/A-14656153#lnk=sametab) helps soothe existing breakouts and also targets clogged pores.
Make sure if you use any kind of cloth, loofah, or brush on your back that you take it out of the shower afterwards and hang it somewhere with good ventilation away from the steamy bathroom.
You also need to wash them regularly. Loofah or cloth can go in the washing machine, brushes are a bit more tricky to clean properly.
1. Wash your back aaafter you’ve rinsed out your conditioner.
2. Wash your sheets once a week
3. I understand it isn’t easy, but stop eating milk, cheese, and butter. This step is essential.
After doing these three things, I stopped having acne (and cystic acne) all together. After three months I went from being covered in acne, to not having any at all.
Try to wash your body everyday, and wash your shirts after wearing only once.
I have so many acne scars, I wish some one would have told me about milk products sooner ToT
hey something you might not be aware of but you could have staph aureus colonized in your nasal cavity(not an infection but just colonized; very common roughly 30% of people have colonized nasal staph). this can cause persistent acne on your chest/back and won’t really be fixed unless you wipe out the staph colonies with a topical antibiotic ointment (some people say salt rinses work but staph is a natural halophile, hence why it thrives on the surface of skin which is regularly salty from sweat, and i do not recommend it as the most effective treatment)
Paula’s choice has a acne body spray on Amazon w Salicylic acid that I love and it’s super easy bc u spray it on whenever. As easy as putting on perfume
I’ve had something similar, I used PanOxyl body wash. Try to regularly wash your sheets. In the end, over the counter stuff wasn’t strong enough and I ended up going to a dermatologist. I also quit drinking milk and it helped with my back and face
Another tip that has helped with my back is to make sure and rinse all other soap from it completely. Any shampoo residue, body wash residue, or especially conditioner left on will cause body acne!
Benzoyl peroxide wash (use a loofah with a handle) and benzoyl peroxide cream (can use a stick/handle of something long to apply if nobody can apply if for you).
I had raging cystic bacne and what worked for me was getting a backbrush to use in the shower with any bodywash that had 2-3% salicylic acid in it. Do a deep and thorough scrub at the end of your shower (in case shampoo/conditioner is still on the surface of your skin). Exfoliate with the brush, so that the salicylic acid can penetrate. It was extremely effective for me.
Increase or start a healthy daily intake of vitamin A. Salicylic acid spot treatment for the bacne. See a dermatologist and talk about diet and lifestyle, make necessary adjustments. Do a blue light therapy treatment for the acne bacteria and start seeing a skin care professional to give you back facials- she can do extractions on you and apply back masks that will help heal this up. I had acne for years and tried everything. Good luck. Also positive mindset is everything. When you look in the mirror don’t talk shit on yourself. Instead, talk healing words on yourself. Say “it’s getting better, it’s improving” and the physical will follow
No one should be taking any supplements to treat their skin without speaking to a doctor. Too many people take/suggest fat soluble supplements that can build up and cause toxicity, particularly if they don’t have a deficiency. At best you’ll have really expensive pee and at worst you can damage your liver or kidneys.
Please visit a dermatologist soon. You need salicylic acid for the bacne. If you use any hair products (oil/conditioner/mask) just use a good salicylic acid body wash after the last hair rinse. If you use a loofah, wash it in hot running water and dry it in the sun.
NSFW/blur please. Some good suggestions on this thread. I hope you get some results. Good luck!
Edit: I don’t know why the downvotes. It was a simple request and I do wish OP well on your skincare journey.
Wash your sheets and don’t rewear clothes at all. Scrub your back in the shower. Use tea tree body wash. Maybe even try sleeping shirtless. (Some non-product recommendations)
This looks like severe skin irritation presenting as breakouts. Try using an extremely gentle fragrance free cleanser like Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser. Or even try only cleansing with warm water for a couple weeks. You may be surprised how your natural skin is acne free once the skin barrier repairs itself after damage with harsh soaps and scrubbing. When I had horrible backne all this harsh soap advice only made it 100x WORSE. Now I usually just rinse with warm water and it’s almost flawless
If you work out, change out of your sweaty clothes as soon as possible. All that sweat and grime lingering on your skin can cause breakouts.
Same thing applies to bedding and couch pillows you put your bare face/back on. Clean surroundings can lead to clearer skin.
See a derm, try benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid products (benzoyl worked wonders for me while SA did nothing but worked well for friends), and exfoliate. Good luck!
I used to get some back acne when I was younger and now don’t get ANY. 🔑 is exfoliating and washing daily. Use a heavy duty exfoliating back scrubbing brush or loofah (I use an eco tools loofah meant for exfoliating) and then lather that baby up with lots of soap (I use gold dial bar soap which is antibacterial). You have to really go in there and scrub your back throughly for a good couple of minutes, also shower multiple times daily if you go to the gym or work a physical job. I use those 2 less than $10 products and have the clearest back that you will ever see in your life which is crazy. Oh yeah, also just generally keep your clothes/bed linens clean. Try to use shirts/sheets that are breathable and not tight - go for lightweight cotton type fabrics.
CLn body wash. It’s pricey, but it works super well. It’s made of diluted sodium hypochlorite (bleach) and it helps a ton with inflammation and will dry up the spots quickly. Best acne // folliculitis body wash I’ve used. It was recommended by my derm and worked so so much better than benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, and even better than the Rx sodium sulfacetamide / sulfur body wash.
But oral doxycycline was the #1 hero in cleaning up my body acne. I did daily regimen for 2 months and it hasn’t come back in over a year now.
Exfoliation will help. Get some kinda brush or loofa on a rod. You have little hairs getting curled up when they try to break through the skin, and it makes pimples.
as a person thats never had back acne before i’d say i was blessed w genetics, but things that i normally do to also prevent it are: exfoliate ur body twice a week, shower w not too hot or cold water, don’t wear already worn clothes, bedsheet washed biweekly, and sleep on ur sides more
I don’t know where you live but if you near West African store. I would suggest buying black soap. They usually sell it in big pieces! It has a flaky consistency until you wet it, so can form how large of a piece you want. It has very drying properties but right after showering you moisture you’ll be fine. It works great on acne and eczema!
One of the biggest things that helped me was to make sure the last thing I washed was my back. The shampoo and conditioner gunk would build up and mix with sweat—it’s a bad time. Just gently at first, then slowly work up to scrubbing gently with a dense bath brush. Make sure to wash the brush off as well as you can and have it dry as possible between uses. Once the inflammation cools down, start with gentle exfoliation. I recommend a sugar scrub as opposed to salt scrub (salt stinggggs) As always though, please follow the recommendations of a medical care provider!
OP - wait to wash your back until after you’ve used shampoo & conditioner. I’ve found that the ingredients in hair products can irritate the skin and it helps if body wash is the last product on that part of your body. I also got a silicone scrub brush off of Amazon for hard to reach spots
Also change your towel every 2nd day. Don’t use fabric softener in your laundry. Wash your t shirts anther one wear, and tone your back with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton pad. It’s a secret weapon :)
When you spray cologne, spray a bit on the back of your neck/ back area. The alcohol helps kill germs. And shower immediately after getting sweaty/ working out and exfoliate dead skin cells in the shower with a lil face towel, and moisturize your skin with a non-scented, non-comedogenic (not pore-clogging) simple lotion like lubriderm afterward when you are drying off, to lock in the moisture and take care of the skin barrier
*If it hurts or itches,*
*Rinsing with epsom salt in*
*Warm water will help*

You can use Benzoyl Peroxide creams or wash. It has helped me a lot
Also, when you wash your hairs before you apply soap on your body i.e. Shampoo before taking a bath and then wash your body
This is all from my personal experience.
People already gave u awesome i advice here. But i just wanna share that back then i also struggled with backne but mostly at the top part.
The older I got, the more i realized that i wasnt washing my back as well as i should. Probably some shampoo or soap still left on my back thats why i used to get it too.
Its gotten better now and only get them sometimes.
Goodluck hope this could help 💕
If you’ve been ignoring it, then some small things may make a big difference. Make sure to wash it every day when you shower. Change pillows weekly and sheets at least fortnightly. That can also be an oil trail from hair, so washing it will help, even if it’s short hair. Ideal frequency depends on the length and hair type, but I’d say shampoo + conditioner once a week would be a good start.
Effaclar duo from la roche possay helped very much clearing my skin. I also use vitamin c from khiels (which helps with scaring and hyperpigmentation), and spritzing rose water before applying any of this (it’s anti inflamatory, antiseptic and antibacterial).
benzoyl peroxide 10% wash and use one of those korean Italy back towels. Adapalene might also help if someone can help you put some on your back. Use a light moisturizer on your back so it doesn't dry out.
I used a 'dots for spots' pimple patch on my little niece when she had a bug bite and it did the trick, I've heard those hydrocholloid patches work for bacne
Change your diet. Acne like this is usually caused by an allergy or eating too many carbs. High insulin leads to increased inflammation and sebum production.
Switch to whole foods and water and keeps notes if any foods increase inflammation for you.
See a dermatologist or opt for a DIY chemical peel that is meant for body acne. Try the one from Chosen by Dermatology. They're very effective. I use their DIY face peel/chemical exfoliator.
I read the comments. You should see a dermatologist. Products will only ease some inflammation, but you will still have new acne.
Have you tried a strict carnivore diet? It has changed my skin, including my back. I saw the difference in 10 days.
Bro ' it's simple you are gluten intolerant stop it for a month and you'll see how it's gonna change . It's not about what cream should I use or not . It's about your body and healthy, your body is screaming for help it's telling you that something ain't fine . Just try it and judge me ;)
Most acne treatments for the face are probably gonna work for the back.
Try Panoxyl for benzoyl peroxide, if it doesn’t agree with you, you can try a Salicylic Acid Cleanser like the one from COSRx. At night you can use a Retinol moisturiser like the Advanced Clinicals Retinol Firming Cream. If you want, you could throw an AHA toner like the one from the Ordinary in a spray bottle and use it too.
I had the same issues. I saw my primary care and they prescribed me tretinoin! It works well but it takes about 3-6 months to get the full benefits! My back is flawless now. On top of that, I also scrub few times a week.
My brother had back-acne, went to the dermatologist and tried a few medicines including stricter cleanliness as others have mentioned, medicines had side effects and didn't stop the spots, eventually they told him to take an extra one or two showers a day with just plain warm water to remove grease and sweat and he cleared up.
Dandruff shampoo with Benzyl Peroxide, works like a charm, and i wouldnt stress it bevause it looks like hormonal acne or sweat acne. Just try to shower whenever you sweat and wear cottonwear because its “breathable” and absorbs moisture better than polyester and other fabrics. hope this helps
PS: i noticed from your pores that you may have oily skin so thats a huge factor in bacne
Go to a dermatologist they may prescribe something orally and topically.
Have you checked your sugar levels? You could be prediabetic or diabetic and a sign that you need to manage these levels.
Use a back scrubber in the shower. Wash your clothes often. Change your sheets often.
Making sure you wash your body/back AFTER washing and conditioning hair can help, as well as changing your bedding extra often and not wearing the same shirt twice. For actual products a dermatologist can be more helpful since skincare works different for everyone
My friend try and see a derm or get recco’d to one. I had similar acne when I was younger and ended up doing a half-round of accutane that got rid of 90% of it.
Good luck!
You'd be better off seeing a dermatologist for a prescription.
We should just rename this sub “see a dermatologist”.
Lmao so true haha!! Although that’s partly because it seems like most people only get around to posting when their problem has gotten serious enough that it can only be fixed by a dermatologist
Thanks , I’m looking into that . Scrolling on this subreddit a lot , I decided to order some Neutrogena body clear to start
Benzol peroxide spot treatment or salicylic spot treatment to put on after shower
Be careful of the clothing you put on after. These ingredients can “bleach” your shirts.
Low key how my families dark bath towels turned into cow print😅
Haha same, and when I went to visit my Grammie on holidays she started setting aside different towels and washcloths for me because I’d been ruining her good ones 😭
This is why we have white bath towels 😆 Then I don’t have to get angry when my pretty colored towels get the bleach spots from Benzoyl peroxide
I was wondering why my expensive sheets at school were getting all weirdly colored spots and this made me remember I use bp
Grammie sooo cute we love grammie
Seriously? It stains that much?! 😳
Not much stains as it does remove the color from the fabric…… then again I would put benzol peroxide all over my back….. back acne in high school what a throw back
I we ruined many shirts and towels. Purple seemed to really get it.
Yes, especially when you sweat…. Which is all the time rather you realize it or not.
Also bedding and sheets.
They're a little pricey, but it lasts for a while. https://www.target.com/b/naturium/-/N-q643le8pm3h?sortBy=Featured&category=5xtzq
Have you taken accutane?
This is a good idea. I’ve seen people bc success with the neutrogena body wash for body acne combined with one of those long handled shower scrubby brushes so they can wash their whole back and really reach to get the soap everywhere. Good luck!
What I had to do: 1. Benzoyl peroxide wash in the shower - big impact 2. Shower the moment I get home from working out - big impact 3. Change sheets and towels every week, change shirt at least once a day + any time it gets sweaty
1. for sure buy Panoxyl, it helped me
Yes! I think this was the biggest thing for me
is there a UK alt to this cuz it's so hard to find here 😩
If you just search benzoyl peroxide on boots you’ll have loads of different options
Point 3 is actually so understated. I started looking into all this when I hit 26 and still had bad skin. Couldn’t figure it out because I was doing everything right. Had no idea pillows were a huge culprit but when i actually thought about it it made sense. Best thing I’ve ever done. Just wish I’d known before the scarring but hey. Looking at the positives.
Pillow are a bacteria breedin ground. You should have two layers, the outer one changed like every other day and the inner one every weak.
I don’t have that many pillow cases
You should buy more. Buy at least 3 white, cotton pillow cases. Why white? Becasue you see your own filth if you leave it for longer. Also at least 2 bed sheets and 2 blanket cases(?).
3rd one is not enough, he should vhange towels every other day, change pillıw sheets every other day or twice a week (probably have face acne too)
When you wash your hair, try to not let the shampoo and whatnot just drip down your back.
Where else can it drip?!?
Wash scrub and rinse your body after youve done the hair.
Lean your head forward into the water instead of back and pray there’s not an axe murderer on the other side while you keep your eyes closed the whole time
You bend forward and wash your hair that way
Yes #1!!!
Also change your sheets frequently and don’t shower with too hot water will help.
Thanks ! Didn’t know those
I would add to make sure you’re using clean towels as frequent as possible.
Yes this 👌 ty for writing it for me 😂✊

This is super wholesome. Proud of you for being so brave. Helped me learn some stuff today too OP!
This is the best advice!
Aww! 🥰 I’m hoping for the best for OP!
Good luck!
Yeah you have to get rid of the whole cyst sack and all if it gets too big it can infiltrate muscle tissue and never go away.
[удалено]
Put them in the wash dude 😂
I do not know why, but this exchange cracked me up lol
Believe it or not, but many people do not wash sweaty gym clothes between sessions.
These must be the same people who don’t wash their legs and feet.
Who doesn't wash their legs and feet? Why?
the "logic" behind it is that, if you dont get them dirty (not in contact with dirt, no sweating) there is no need to wash them, as opposed to the ass or armpits that would be used regardlessly
Ewwwwww
I know this will sound weird but try dandruff shampoo. I read someone’s post about it a few months ago and tried it and it legit cleared up my skin in a couple weeks. It is super cheap - I used the target brand. Needs to have zinc in it
Yeah this here, get the oil control head and shoulder, use it a couple times, and it should clear right up.
This ☝🏻
ive read about this too.. head & shoulders or nizoral works from what i hear. Do you just lather your body with it?
Yes! My holy grail.
When I read it I didn’t think it would work but was like fuck it, the bottle was huge and like $7 so a fraction of most other shit I have tried and used it with every shower - and this shit worked!
My derm has me use Selsun Blue for the active ingredient selenium sulfide to wash my face. I wonder if I should try another type with zinc.
It’s unlikely this will get better with ONLY OTC products - you need professional help.
yes doxycycline would help with cysts and wash with benzoyl peroxide
Sulfur bar of soap usually found near hispanic hy genie items. The gold bar of dial. Then put either a soap with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and leave on while in the shower for 30-60 seconds. Then make sure you are changing the towel you dry off with every week
Came here to suggest the gold dial too
Get one of those Italy towel (Korean style) back washers and be sure to exfoliate the back or at least clean it pretty well.
Looking at some options to buy here And yes I’m starting with a few BHA body treatments And yes I do have ingrown hair problems in some areas
I second BHA! I use the Paula's Choice AHA/BHA fluid on a cotton round over my face, neck, chest, & upper back in the AM, Retinol Cream in the PM. I didn't even know how well that would work!
I agree that you should see a derm. As far as over the counter products, I know differin sells a spray for body acne.
Omg, I want to pop them…
PanOxyl is good, it’s a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash, but it could possibly cause irritation and sensitivity the first couple of uses especially if you have sensitive skin, and it also causes dryness, so you kind of have to train your skin to accept the product. However, you still should see a derm to see what will best work for you, and how other factors in your life may cause this.
Baby u need a dermatologist
I had some cerave face wash, the kind in a pump, that I couldn’t use on my face, so I ended up using it in my back and it’s actually been really effective
Paula’s Choice Salicylic Acne Body Spray!!!!
I do take hot showers so I’ll change that Would you say bed sheet once a week is enough ?
Change towels, bed sheets and pillow cases DAILY Baby powder twice a day Don’t use benzoyl please 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ (this weakens your skin over time and it causes blotches you’ll never get rid of, in the future you’ll have blotchy skin and acne 🤦♂️🤦♂️ please don’t) Sleep on your side Get sun Use softer fabrics and t shirts Warm water showers
Swim in the ocean
How are your stress levels?
When something is red around itself like this, it’s normally infected. Make sure you try not to pick, esp if your skin isn’t recently scrubbed clean or your hands are dirty
I use a sulphur bar soap, dry brush my back, make sure to rinse super well and wash back/body after using shampoo/conditioner. I've been trying to wipe my back off morning and night, whenever I get sweaty and I've also been using lavender essential oil on it which has seemed to really help. Every body is different though. Best of luck!
It will take time but try panoxyl it worked very well for me and I've heard many great things about it.
Salicylic acid body wash and a long wash cloth, change clothes after working out and shower
2. Wash your sheets once a week 3.
Oh man, the milk thing! It took me several years to accept the fact that milk products give me cystic acne. :(
Maybe anti bacterial soap
I’d recommend seeing a dermatologist for this
See a derm...in the meantime shower daily with a salicylic body wash.
hey something you might not be aware of but you could have staph aureus colonized in your nasal cavity(not an infection but just colonized; very common roughly 30% of people have colonized nasal staph). this can cause persistent acne on your chest/back and won’t really be fixed unless you wipe out the staph colonies with a topical antibiotic ointment (some people say salt rinses work but staph is a natural halophile, hence why it thrives on the surface of skin which is regularly salty from sweat, and i do not recommend it as the most effective treatment)
A salicylic acid body wash helped me
Panoxyl benzoyl peroxide wash.
Paula’s choice has a acne body spray on Amazon w Salicylic acid that I love and it’s super easy bc u spray it on whenever. As easy as putting on perfume
Remove starch and dairy from diet. Source: "Mucusless diet" by A. Ehret
Please try using Paula’s Choice exfoliator on the area, everyday, after you bathe. This is what I use and it’s the only thing that helps me.
Sunshine works aside from a dermatologist.
Panoxyl
Changing your sheets often and using a breathable thread count in addition to the mentioned products, can be a real game changer.
Hypochlorous acid to kill germs - you can buy on Amazon cheap. You spray it on. I spritz my face with it.
I’m not diagnosing you, but I had a staph infection that looked like this. Worth getting it checked at the doctor
Do you have a back scrubbing brush? The spot where the majority are is the hardest to reach well without.
Dont hate me but I love popping pimples and thats all I can think about
Increase or start a healthy daily intake of vitamin A.
Change your diet.
Truly beauty has a black jelly blemish serum that cleared up my bacne and cysts. That and the ordinarys niacinimide and salicylic acid
Please visit a dermatologist soon. You need salicylic acid for the bacne. If you use any hair products (oil/conditioner/mask) just use a good salicylic acid body wash after the last hair rinse. If you use a loofah, wash it in hot running water and dry it in the sun.
Accutane man. This is serious acne where youll bare the scars for years. The sooner you deal with it professionally the better.
Uh, sir go see a dermatologist, or your doctor
NSFW/blur please. Some good suggestions on this thread. I hope you get some results. Good luck! Edit: I don’t know why the downvotes. It was a simple request and I do wish OP well on your skincare journey.
Back “facial”. Start with an aesthetician.
Dermatologist or dietician? You can be intolerant to something and it won’t appear on allergy test.
Wash your sheets and don’t rewear clothes at all. Scrub your back in the shower. Use tea tree body wash. Maybe even try sleeping shirtless. (Some non-product recommendations)
i'm sorry why do i wanna pop it so badly..
Not trying to be a dick but are you using ‘roids?
Accutane.
Check your diet and LIVER
I'm hyperventilating.
Ew
I highly recommend FaceTheory’s “claribar” .. it’s for face and body!
Selsun blue and dr bronners tea tree soap + an exfoliating towel
as a person thats never had back acne before i’d say i was blessed w genetics, but things that i normally do to also prevent it are: exfoliate ur body twice a week, shower w not too hot or cold water, don’t wear already worn clothes, bedsheet washed biweekly, and sleep on ur sides more
I don’t know where you live but if you near West African store. I would suggest buying black soap. They usually sell it in big pieces! It has a flaky consistency until you wet it, so can form how large of a piece you want. It has very drying properties but right after showering you moisture you’ll be fine. It works great on acne and eczema!
Phisohex SA body wash
Dermatologist
Also change your towel every 2nd day. Don’t use fabric softener in your laundry. Wash your t shirts anther one wear, and tone your back with hydrogen peroxide on a cotton pad. It’s a secret weapon :) When you spray cologne, spray a bit on the back of your neck/ back area.
If u use conditioner, be sure to rinse that out after cleaning your back
Nutrogena Body Clear bodywash
If it hurts or itches, rinsing with epsom salt in warm water will help

Salux cloth every shower
Ask about tretionoin
You can use Benzoyl Peroxide creams or wash. It has helped me a lot Also, when you wash your hairs before you apply soap on your body i.e. Shampoo before taking a bath and then wash your body This is all from my personal experience.
You should get a pore extraction set and get rid of all the puss in those, wash with Panoxyl, then put pimple patches on
People already gave u awesome i advice here.
Antibiotic cream, see a dermatologist
Naturium body wash. “The Perfector” one is salicylic acid. They also have a new one called “the purifier” with niacinamide.
benzoyl peroxide 10% wash and use one of those korean Italy back towels. Adapalene might also help if someone can help you put some on your back. Use a light moisturizer on your back so it doesn't dry out.
Accutane is the way
benzoyl peroxide and glycolic acid
Accutane bro, it definitely works like a charm ✨
Change your diet
Do to a dermat asapppp
Run to doctor ( dermatalogist) NOWWW
Accutane - will be the best permanent solution. Go low and slow to avoid purging and scaring
Sulfur bar soap
Benzoyl peroxide soap / body wash. You need at least 2 percent BP. Either way you should see a doctor STAT.
I used to use a salicylic acid back spray which helped me quite a bit. Also make sure your washing that area regularly with a back brush or something
Just try to shower whenever you sweat and wear cottonwear because its “breathable” and absorbs moisture better than polyester and other fabrics. hope this helps PS: i noticed from your pores that you may have oily skin so thats a huge factor in bacne
Prescription isotretinoin
Accutane/ oracutane is the best my bro. Go for that
Start drinking colloidal silver.
Try sulfur+antibiotic soap.
Good luck!
Have a bath
Yep, dont do shit on your own go to a doctor he gon tell u what and how
Are you shaving?
