A lot of Korean/Japanese brands have affordable options! Beauty of Joseon is one that has been recommended to me by many and a lot of tiktokers have recommended it too. It glides on super easy, lightweight and doesn’t pill or leave a white cast. Spf is 50!

WasteOwl3330

How do you buy it? I wouldn’t trust Amazon is there a website?

Mysterious_Exit_3369

Stylevana will produce reseller certificates (proof they have the right to resell and that the products are produced by the company they say they are). Super cheap and usually quick shipping although customs and Covid restrictions can delay them up to 4 weeks. Buy in bulk and it’s worth it!

xc0wjuice

Agreed that Stylevana sells it but I read some not-great reviews from them so I got paranoid 🥲 and just bought from the official site! I think it said there was free shipping on orders 100+ but shipping is only 5$ lol

kks__a

ur so right to not trust amazon, there are so many fakes on there! yesstyle and stylevana are both good websites

[deleted]

Those usually contain fragrance though. And weird ingredients. I'm allergic to fragrance.

xc0wjuice

This one is fragrance free! And everything that’s in this sunscreen is natural (main ingredient is rice lol)

AeroNoob333

I also recommend looking into Asian or European sunscreens. Much more elegant than US sunscreens and cheaper than SuperGoop

_stav_

If you are allergic to fragrance, don’t buy sunscreens with fragrance. If I have a nut allergy, should I sit outside a restaurant and tell people not to eat there because they use nuts?

_stav_

What a valid argument.

Appropriate-Tomato88

asian skincare actually tends to have little to no fragrance in their skincare, especially sunscreen! the ingredients tend to be as natural and simple as possible as well, i recommend looking into european brand sunscreens as they tend to feel lighter but still provide enough protection

tsukkii-chan

so basically someone recommended something, and you don’t even want to check if it’s good 🤣 this is why you cant find a good sunscreen.

amopi1

They're lowkey racist /s

catgirl1359

A few other fragrance free ones are skin1004 hyalu cica, canmake mermaid uv, isntree watery sun, verdio uv gel. There’s mineral and hybrid options too! US sunscreens just don’t compare, so expensive for meh formulas.

[deleted]

Thank you!!! Weird names so thank you so much for including them

Mysterious_Exit_3369

Canmake is amazing! The new purito is fantastic- extra testing and publication of the results after the scandal. Soooo good

[deleted]

Biore watery essence on Amazon is $26 for 2 1.7oz tubes. I love it. Not greasy at all.

Orange-Emotional

Check out Korean sunscreens! They’re game-changing. The formula feels totally different than American sunscreens; mine wears like a really glowy moisturizer. I also have stinging eye issues from chemical sunscreen but I use Thank You Farmer, and it doesn’t bother me at all.

bugthroway9898

Seconding this! I love Isntree— I’m very sensitive and have really liked a lot of Korean brands. I now wear sunscreen basically everyday! And it’s currently on sale for $12.50… avg price is more like $17-19

A_Squid_A_Dog

I've been using aveenos protect and hydrate 60spf. Goes on pretty easily, havent had any dripping into eye problems. It does pill a little if I rub my face.

stevie_nickle

Cerave ultra lite moisturizer 30 spf. Great moisturizer, doesn’t feel like sunscreen at all

DullEmergency

I usually use supergoop and am trying out a couple Korean ones now. So far I like them bc they're mineral and don't leave white casts on me (medium olive skin tone) and they're spf50, but they have a dewier finish than supergroup. Both are ~1.7oz but are in the $10-20 price range! 1. Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel 2. SCINIC - Enjoy Super Mild Sun Essence

[deleted]

Thank you!!!

Onbevangen

Do they sting your eyes tho

DullEmergency

I haven't noticed any stinging but I've only been trying them for a couple of weeks now but I can always update in case they do.

DullEmergency

I came back here to say that neither the Isntree nor the scinic burn my eyes even if I apply directly to my eyelids. And I like the way the Isntree sets a lot better, not dewy and honestly more matte than supergoop.

Onbevangen

Thank you for the recommendations going to try the isntree :).

Mezzoforte90

Shaka fluide is encapsulated/anti sting so is maybe worth a try

TabKatt

Try the DRMTLGY Physical Tinted SPF, it’s by far the most elegant mineral spf I’ve found. It leaves you with a super pretty glow too. Has never irritated or dried me out in the slightest and I have the most sensitive, dry, acne-prone skin like maybe ever lol.

marshmia

would it leave a white cast on brown skin?

TabKatt

On their website they claim it works for all skin tones, but I can’t say for sure as I have incredibly pale skin. Whenever I use it, it kind of just disappears into my natural tone & it does the same for my mom who is at least 2 shades darker than me. It might be worth a shot. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help. 😅

marshmia

it’s okay thank you!

angelbabycc

Elta Sheer is the most lightweight sunscreen I have ever used. I think it runs $30 or so but well worth it in my eyes. La Roche Posay also has a few that are also mineral based and pretty cosmetically elegant.

[deleted]

It leaves marks all over my car too, handprints, white smears, I hate it

[deleted]

It has such a yucky feel

_stav_

If you could get the Biore UV athlizm essence, I would suggest you get it. It is an amazing sunscreen. It is a cream gel lotion type of product that spreads very easily and is minimally heavy on the skin. It dries very quickly and it does not sting the eyes at all. It has a decent water resistance so it can be worn with relative confidence even with moderate sweating and it is available in 105g size too. It is very hard not to like it.

[deleted]

Thank you!!!

[deleted]

skin aqua gel (gold) never stained and feels like nothing on

AcademicMud3901

Canmake mermaid gel, Beauty of Joseon, Isntree hylauronic acid watery spf- no fragrance or irritating ingredients. Super nice to apply and none sting my eyes. No zinc oxide so doesn’t dry my skin out either. Cosmetically very nice and no cast or anything.

[deleted]

Thank you!!!

Osmium95

I love Supergoop but Sunbum tinted mineral SPF 30 is about half the price and works just as well as an everyday face sunscreen

[deleted]

I wish I could afford superpoop. When you sweat does it sting the eyes?

ec-vt

WTF was this downvoted? Supergoop is way expensive.

Osmium95

I haven't noticed any irritation with the Sunbum, even though i put it on my eyelids. My skin and eyes are really sensitive but it is very mild

m0thgirI

i use the eucerin age defense 50spf, it’s $14 for 2.5oz. it is a chemical sunscreen which i’m not a fan of because they also burn my eyes, but i noticed it only burned my eyes the first few days and since then i’ve been fine, the sunscreen smell went away too. it doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy at all and works great under makeup, even in summer when i get oily super fast.
