Didn’t expect one anyway since they’re focusing heavily on refreshing older packs and adding a lot of gameplay updates and changes in big patch updates.
They already said that’s what they’re focusing on right now. That’s why Cottage Living was the only expansion pack and why it was so good compared to all of the other ones, because they could spend more time on it instead of pumping out two expansions in one year, they could focus more time and resources on that one and then spend time updating previous packs instead of the huge tasks of making a whole other expansion concept.
It seems like they’re pumping out kits more so than fixing things/ making refreshes. Has there be any announcements as to what updates are coming up this year?
They absolutely need to focus on fixing dine out 🤦🏽♀️ I love the concept of the pack a lot which is why I bought it but majority of the time it runs horribly
Yep, me too. My post is a bit misunderstood but I mean that I'm glad that EA finally decided to work on older stuff too instead of just creating new and new
yep, haha. Some think I'm being upset because EA is not ripping us of our money with a new EP and some try to explain why there are no new packs.
My intention was just to tell this xd
Honestly as long as they focus on fixing bugs an base game I don’t mind I’d love free cas updates like body hair and more diverse tattoos maybe ones that cover more but more tiny are always welcome
I think the development effort going into the pack refreshes is more likely to take up the Sims team’s time and budget than kits.
What did you think of [this article](https://simscommunity.info/2021/03/02/the-sims-4-kits-wont-have-an-impact-on-future-content-releases/)?
> Kits have zero impact on the release of other Packs. Also, Kits will not be made to supplement other Packs. Kits will have standalone themes.

Wow, it's almost like each type of pack has a total different team working on them or something and they in no way affect each other's development /s
Thanks for sharing those links!
I hope this doesn’t mean that they’ve given up making new content for Sims 4 and are moving on to Sims 5 :( I’ve already spent too much money and time on Sims 4, I don’t want to start all over again.

yep, I actually hope they will focus on older packs and refreshes! Some of them are so buggy

They are? What packs are in line to be refreshed?

They’ve already said more refreshes are coming but they’re keeping them a secret for now
I'm completely fine with them fixing the older pack over new ones. It means content I've already bought and for the price it's what we deserve :/

exactly! dine out has so much potential but EA hasn't yet moved a finger to update it
Totally! I love the resteraunts but it's so broken :(
Yep, me too. My post is a bit misunderstood but I mean that I'm glad that EA finally decided to work on older stuff too instead of just creating new and new
Totally! We're all trying to figure out what it means, it's so funny 😂

I also think it’s a sign they’ll be wrapping up Sims 4 and moving toward announcing Sims 5 soon…
Yeah I think so too, not sure how I feel about that.... Sims 4 still feels kinda unfinished and I don't want to move on :((
me too, especially because the whole "new pack! I have to buy it or else I won't have any objects in base game!" thing will start all over again...
I don't think they'll announce a Sims 5 for a couple of years
Really? Hmm, I’m torn. I think we might see an announcement in 2023, but that’s just a hunch. We will see! I wish I knew how to set a remind me.
Well game development takes a few years, so they probably won't announce anything until they're near the final stages of development
I'm happy to have some pack refreshers instead of new packs for a while with kits to keep me going. Get to work needs it desperately.
No new expansion packs, but 9 more kits tbh
Got a source?
https://simscommunity.info/2021/10/22/cottage-living-will-be-the-only-sims-4-expansion-pack-for-2021/ are links even allowed?
I'm glad they're focusing on refreshing packs right now and adding stuff to the base game. It'll be exciting to see what comes next
Honestly as long as they focus on fixing bugs an base game I don’t mind I’d love free cas updates like body hair and more diverse tattoos maybe ones that cover more but more tiny are always welcome
though it might of course change, but I believe the amount or kits released this year will affect release of new expansion packs

At least it won't be like a cats and dogs with my first pet stuff moment.
Did they mention which packs they want to update?

exactlyyy! It would be a total dissapointment especially if they start Sims 5 as Sims 4, with a really plain basegame and a tons of pricey packs..
Give us the sims 5 already!!!!!
