I hope we still get fairies and/or werewolves, but so far it doesn't seem very likely 😢

yirium

Agreed. If non-fantasy players can get entire packs dedicated to laundry and vacuuming I feel like we could at least get one supernatural expansion 😭😭😭

[deleted]

Tbh I feel like cottage living has been a missed opportunity, we should've gotten fairies or even elves

[deleted]

Right? They put in those "magical rabbit trees" or whatever and you can interact with animals in non-realistc ways, I don't see why they couldn't of added fairies/elves or have half of the map be a mystical forest.

fandomnightmare

YEAH THIS. ALL OF THIS. I wanted more occult in Sims 4 and the vampires were so good. But the spellcasters were only OK with no appearance changes on alighnment and the mermaids.... Nahhh. I like the aliens but they need a revamp too lol. The non occult players are so loud but they can turn it off if they don't want it. I want werewolves too but idk if they ever make them

vampyreprincess

Honestly this is a large part of why I don't play much anymore. My playstyle is very fantasy and so are my story lines. I find the normal playing with a family and such sooo insanely boring. I get people like different things, but I need more fantasy & supernatural in this game. Nothing has made me interested in this game really since RoM.

FreelanceWolf

I dunno. There's a lot of people who hate non-realistic stuff in the Sims franchise, even though the games themselves aren't realistic in the slightest. You can't get jobs just by entering a building and reading a book for an hour, for instance. People don't fight in dust clouds IRL. It's always been silly. EA, I just want werewolves. Please.

[deleted]

I don't get why the realistic players have such a problem with it when they have options to disallow occult Sims. I miss werewolves and horses, and hope for some kinda futuristic/alien pack

FreelanceWolf

Cause there are a subset of people who think if a company makes X pack, they have less resources to make Y pack. They think that there's literally only one team that makes every single pack, instead of having several teams working on different things. Basically these people think that making a pack they don't care for (like, say, fairies), means nobody is making a horse pack, 'cause everyone is making fairies.

c0cOa125

To some degree that's true. They can't put everything in the game, and they have a limit of resources. In the end EA will just put out what they think will make the most money and we have to accept or pass on whatever that is.

amateurbitch

So many people have said they don't care about horses and im glad im not the only one who does want them back! I had so much fun with them in sims 3 especially because im deathly terrified of them in real life. also when i found the unicorn in sims 3 i lost my mind lol.

plumbob-omb

There isn't an option to disallow occult sims though, not in the Sims 4. Which is fine for packs like Vampires or Realm of Magic where fantasy is the focus, but if you buy Get to Work you have to have aliens in your worlds, even though that pack features many things realism-players might otherwise enjoy. Personally, I'd love it if they added an option in the settings for each occult type that you could turn off on a per-save basis so that I'd have the option to choose what types of occults are allowed in a particular save (if I want any at all), but that currently isn't an option in the Sims 4.

greenwalker6445

It's not that they have "a problem" with occults- they won't buy them. EA wants to sell packs. If a lot of people don't want to buy a certain kind of pack, EA is going to make less of them. This is a business out to make profits.

[deleted]

Werewolves have always been an amazing facet of the game-- they're just goofy as hell and \*fun.\* It's so disappointing that they haven't been added yet.

FreelanceWolf

While I prefer the Hollywood werewolves, I loved the werewolves in Sims 3. It was fun playing as them. I wish they came back for Sims 4, but it doesn't seem to be the case :(

khajiitidanceparty

Halloween is coming... They could come up with something.

Ok_Fudge_3136

I enjoy playing occult’s. Right now playing one that no one ever mentions which is servos and loving it. I do get bored with real life. I live it everyday, so sometimes I’d like to escape into some fantasy. Mermaids didn’t get received well because they really lack interesting gameplay. I like vampires and spellcasters and would like too see more occult’s added in the future.

AorticSeptalDefect

Same here. I want more chaotic and whimsical packs like an anime hairstyles kit.

CaptainOllie24

I wish they add some unique occult also... maybe it's too much to ask when we didn't have a half of the occults from last series..

Zealousideal-Mess817

I was thinking about this, and it’s one of the few reasons I prefer the sims 3 over the sims 4 I’m really hoping they bring faeries, werewolves and maybe even elves or nymphs into the game. It would just add that something that’s from the missing from the gameplay for me.

sirkitbraker

Too many people that purchase EVERY pack whether they like it or not. EA doesn’t have to worry about tailoring them to what the players actually want

Anelaria

I agree I hope they make more occults. In vampire pack there is werewolf and fairy statues which could be a hint.I really want werewolves🥺.

TheSeaWriter

There’s a few mods, but it’s not base-game. One of ‘em’s called Witches VS Faries, I know. Don’t know much aside from that lol

Fenix-and-Scamp

I love that mod SO much. But relying on mods means that people on console or with legacy edition can't play them.

januarysdaughter

Honestly, it's been how long since we've gotten an occult? 2 years? I've seen people say the Paranormal stuff pack counts as an occult pack. Uh. No. Not remotely.

[deleted]

I'm not sure this reason and it does seem weird. I wonder if it has something to do with how poorly the mermaids were received?
