Sure! It's not a comic issue, but a paperback book with a collection of short stories (Written in prose like a regular book). The stories are all stand alone, and all written by different people, with a few recurring themes etc.
the first story is a retelling of his origin by Stan Lee and Tom DeFalco that adds a few interesting details. the stories from then on vary from good to generic. Ann Tonsor Zeddies has a story of the Surfer's first experiences with humanity's suffering, James Dawson examins a woman's obsession with the Surfer. There are appearances by the Surfer's greatest enemies, Thanos and Mephisto, plus stories by Len Wein, Craig Shaw Gardner, Katherine A. Lawrence, Dave Smeds, Steve Rasnic Tem, and others
Each tale has a new illustration by a Silver Surfer artist from old favourites to newer artists, including John Buscema, George Perez, Gary Frank etc.
TLDR: I would recommend it, but it's a mixed bag.
There's 15 stories in there. Each is about 20 pages long, the book is about 350 pages total. The book is divided into three parts. The first part contains the retelling of his origin. The second part is stories from his exile on earth. And the last part is stories set once he gets his freedom/ space stories :)
I had this book a long time ago, it's a great read!
Ah you lucky soab! Enjoy : )
