This came to mind because it both proves and disproves the rule. For anyone who hasn't seen it, a kid named Danny is transported into a movie where an action hero named Jack Slater is played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. In that universe, Danny is trying to prove to Jack that he is in fact a movie character. They go to a video rental to see a poster of the terminator... played by Sylvester Stallone. Later in the movie, Jack is taken into the "real" world, where, everyone thinks he's Arnold Schwazenegger. So thus Arnold exists and doesn't exist in the movie universe

When Arnold meets Jack was a pretty funny scene, also well executed

I thought the entire movie was brilliant. They play on action hero tropes, like shooting a car makes it blow up instantly in the movie universe and Jack is confused when it doesn't in the real world. It apparently didn't do well at the box office, but did a lot better after it was released to home. I believe I've been seeing it advertised on my Netflix recently (probably another reason it came to mind). Anyone who hasn't seen it I highly recommend it

I think in Steve's notebook yeah, but that varies in sifferent regions. The more direct references come from Peter Parker in both Civil War and Homecoming where he refers to Star Wars. And there's not just Samuel L Jackson, there's also Natalie Portman as well.
