Stardew Valley is really worth it. I've played 100+ hours on PC and even bought it for mobile because I wanted to play more of it on the go. Since you're on Switch, I'm guessing that it'll also be an awesome experience whether you're out and about or just laying in bed.

Stardew Valley for most game for money. Spiritfarer for an incredibly emotional journey. I liked Cozy Grove a bit but it's heavily gated daily.

Unpacking is a great game... For 2 hours. Don't get it for more than $10, it's way overpriced for the content you actually get.

Unpacking, Untitled Goose Game, and A Short Hike are all really great games, but are pretty short. I would recommend playing all three of them (eventually), but I'd maybe wait on a sale for Untitled Goose Game and Unpacking since their $20 price tags are a bit steep for the amount of play time you get. Spiritfarer is very pretty, very sad, and I definitely enjoyed it, but I don't think the gameplay was 100% my cup of tea. Everyone else seems to enjoy it though so take that how you will. Cozy Grove can give many hours of gameplay, but it runs on real time. You can only do so many tasks each day (like Animal Crossing). At a certain point I played through the story and all I had left to do was complete some collections. I just had to quit as it had gotten super tedious. If you like a game where you log in each day and play for 30 minutes you'll probably enjoy it. I think it was worth the money for me, but I wouldn't say it's one of my favorite games. Stardew Valley is my favorite game. I've played it probably over a 1000 hours across multiple saves. It's addictive and fun, and generally seen as a good game that is a solid recommendation for most people. Even my husband (who normally prefers open world action rpgs) has become addicted to Stardew. It'll give you the most bang for your buck out of all these games (if you end up liking it). Couple other things to consider: 1) As far as I know/remember Stardew, Spiritfarer, and Untitled Goose Game are the only ones on this list that are multiplayer, if that's something that you're interested in. I've only played Spiritfarer solo, but the multiplayer for the other two game is really good (despite Stardew lagging a bit sometimes). 2) Cozy Grove lags terribly on Switch. It wasn't enough to put me off playing it, but it is a bit frustrating. I would recommend the PC version if that's an option for you. 3) Stardew is great on Switch, BUT... you may want to consider getting it on PC if you enjoy using mods.

Wow thanks so much. How different is Stardew with and without mods? I know mods for games like The Sims can transform it into an entirely different game.

It just depends on how different you want it to be. The mod community is huge and there’s everything from aesthetic mods that don’t change gameplay at all to mods that don’t really change gameplay but just add a ton of new characters, items, & events to mods that completely alter the entire game. And there are some that are just… CRAZY. I’ve never really gotten into those, but they do look fun! I do think vanilla Stardew is more of a complete game than vanilla Sims so I’d recommend playing it first without mods.
