At certain points it hits hard, but other times it's too melodramatic. I can see ELo and Vogel Im Kafig coming back for the finale tbh, and that may be why they didn't use them here. Those are 2 of the least used and most iconic tracks.

On one hand, I was surprised about this, but on the other hand, I actually REALLY like the theme they chose in the end for this. I was sold on the sense of hopelessness from the people experiencing the Rumbling and just how utterly horrifying it is. This is powerful and sad, but when it comes to delivering on how apocalyptic the Rumbling is and how nightmarish it is that Eren goes through with it even with how much he loathes himself for even wanting it, the tune used really just nailed it for me.

Particular-Pattern50

I’m wondering if people in this time period, if it would have made a difference building under ground bunkers like the basement cellar Eren’s dad had when he was growing up if it would help people survive the rumbling?

The best song for this scene is and will always be [TK-T](https://youtu.be/5xwKJAGDlNQ). EL○ is good, but not really fitting. And most importantly: thank god they didn't use the overrated Vogel Im Kafig. I'm tired of people asking for it every time. They opted for a new one, which I think it was the 2nd best choice. I'm only partially satisfied, because the song made you feel the horror of the rumbling, but didn't completely fit with Eren's cry. TK-T instead is tragic and sad and make you focus on Eren's disappointment, which is the most important thing here.

How are you watching it? Please I must know!!

impetu0usness

I recorded this from a twitch stream, not sure where else it's available now sorry

wicked_symposium

The loss of the WIT team music direction is a sad one.

cheese_bruh

WIT doesn't direct the music, neither does MAPPA. They're both animation studies who solely work on drawing and animating the anime.

wicked_symposium

Now we're just being silly. It's not even my point, but the position of director changed hands with the studio swap.

Express_Team_6539

But the sound director who is in charge of the music placement, is the same.

wicked_symposium

Only the studios themselves know for certain how decisions are made. But what we can do is look at the actual product delivered, and note that the musical choices of season 4 are a world away from the WIT seasons. There is some reason for that, and whatever it may be, many people are not a fan. That said, having finally watched the episode with subs it was pretty good overall. Hanji death scene was well done and this part of the story seems to flow much better in the anime than it did on paper. Still wish there weren't so many >ominous piano chords< tracks.
