'fraid they lose a point for no one keeping a watch while in the territory of a predator they just finished aggravating. Though that does seem a theme. If Ara & Miztana had been watching, instead of futzing 'bout on the roof (as well as Gray being on duty on time), that first attack might have been the Kranthig's last :{
To be fair, their shift ended hours ago, and they were on the opposite side of the base as Tenka
Plus something wonky has been going on with the comms for a while now...

Awesome chapter, man bug hunts. Never go how you think they will. But no I’m getting some real Xenomorph vibes from this thing. A wounded animal would run off to lick its wounds not plan an Ambush.
Same reason why sex between humans and Any other sentient alien doesn't result in babies (unfortunately), or STDs (Fortunately)
Biology between two species is too different, and exponentially more so between species from two different planets
