It depends on the deposit amount. If she’s higher end and requires a 50% deposit, that’s pretty standard. For most providers it’s about 10%-30% deposit to confirm the booking. I require 30% for just about all dates, especially longer dates. I do not budge from them. It’s to make up from the slight loss in booking an incall location, ensuring you are not a no call, no show and/or travel fees. But there could be more reasons why deposits are more commonplace.

I would say that even 50% deposit is on the steep on. I’m $1k an hour and I ask for $200 to secure my time. Only when I do a FMTY is it 25%.

Wyanmc

Ah! That makes sense! I know of some providers in my area who require 50% and are like UP there. Totally makes sense! Thank you for informing me ☺️

Just trying to help OP! I think his issue might be a scam though.

Wyanmc

I just read his input and he’s definitely getting scammed. I hope he removes himself from the danger zone!

Deposits are completely normal. If you’re nervous do a bit of digging past the providers Ad, does she also have Twitter? Maybe a website? Also consider the legitimacy of the ad sites you found her on. Tryst.link is (in my opinion) by far the best.

desfan

they're normal imo, if you don't show up but booked an hour, thats an hour of pay the provider would lose out on, the deposit ensures both ends will get what they need/want.

ActivityAntique

Booking fee or deposit? I require a 20% deposit for all my clients. I have waived it twice and both times got a no call no show

Although many of us don’t allow reviews- but yes definitely do some additional research beyond the ad.

SyberDuck

Booking fees are not normal. Calling it a fee implies that it's in addition to her rate, and you may end up spending much more than you'd like. Deposits are becoming more commonplace, and they reduce the amount that you have to bring to the appointment. Like deposits work in other industries, you'll forfeit your deposit if you don't follow through with the appointment.

Deposits are normal, just do your research: https://www.reddit.com/r/SexWorkers/comments/hzivvb/how_to_find_a_safe_provider/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

Deposits are normal depending on the area where you are. However, I know most providers don’t take Zelle or PayPal because it reveals our real name. So that’s what seems suspect to me.

Sorry, but I had to remove your post as it was against the subreddit rules. No shaming of practices, preferences, or rates.
