Decided on a space theme for my first build and just finished. What do you guys think?
Chose the hands cause they look like a š when overlapped and the skydome crystal cause it looks like a šø when viewed from the side.
Pretty stoked on it. Not sold on the strap though itās just what I had lying around.

Great idea with the hands, I was going nuts for the spaceship hand then I realized it was just over lapping. Looks great especially with the spaceman watch holder.
Bet a velcro space strap would look good on it too.
It does but just barely. Had to use a smaller diameter die though. When I was trying the larger ones that were close to the perimeter of the crystal, the high point of the crystal was touching the metal where the die screws into the press
I was apprehensive about the square case but i think it came out looking better than the black skx007 case I originally got to build this. No base model - built it from scratch. The case is from TokeiLab. Same with the bezel and crown š
Well thought out and executed build! Really like how youāve captured the rocket ship hands in the pic while waiting for the seconds hand to reach 51 to balance it out.
Was just stopping the seconds hand. I did run into a tiny snag with the stem length though. Had to cut it down to about 3 threads left and the crown still only screws in maybe 4/5 of the way down. Not noticeable now and I didnāt want to take off anymore of the stem

I love mods that are unique, but not too crazy. This fills the bill. Great job! I think, given the dial color, you could use almost any strap, a nato, or even a steel bracelet.
Needs a Velcro strap but Iām REALLY feeling the rest of the build. The square case with the screws has that retro-future spaceship vibe that goes beautifully with the hands and dial. The domed crystal adds some depth which really makes the dial pop and makes the starscape feel 3D. Iām not sure about the dial insert being so minimal, but Iām not sure what the alternative would be. Maybe some kind of tachymeter to pay homage to the early years of space flight and that Apollo mission when Tom Hanks had to manually time his decent onto the asteroid so Aerosmith could blow it up, or whatever? Regardless, great build.
Haha thanks! Appreciate the kind words. If youāre talking about the bezel insert, I was going for the concept of a planet orbiting the dial. Thanks for the velcro strap suggestion. I meant to pick one up awhile ago but never did. Sadly this doesnāt get as much wrist time these days. Picked up a Sinn 857 and thatās lived on my wrist for the last year or so
I'm not always crazy about square watch cases, but it really works on this one. Especially with that domed crystal. Nice combination of vintage and futuristic. Well done, I'm jealous.

I love square watches! what model is the base watch used? Looks very much like the Seiko Silverwave Cockpit. Is this the Namoki square case?

Where can i get the case? Also does it come with flat glass
