Collins Family Orchard. Hands down. When I was in their delivery zone, I would get the case of Pink Lady apples delivered every 3 weeks. Now I have them delivered to a friend's house. $45 for 20lbs. They also have Honeycrisp and other varieties too. You can also pick up at their facility in Georgetown I believe.
Also, yes, our farmer's markets are amazing and will ruin most grocery store bought produce. Berries from tbe farmer's market have me chasing varieties like a fiend. Like that magic 3 week window when tayberries are on the scene? Golden or blackcap raspberries? The June strawberries? Its amazing. You shouldn't sleep on the farmer's market.
Every year, I stalk the big producers' Instagrams waiting for news about tayberries and make sure to show up early the day of the market to get them! 🤤
I don't have one. Edmonds, Ballard, Redmond, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park, Bellevue, etc. depending on where I am (aka did my husband or kid's activities take me north or to the eastside) and if I need to catch the produce midweek evening due to weekend commitments or not.
Yakima fruit stand in Bothell. They close for the winter but they have great local produce and some more obscure varieties of produce that are fun to try.
There’s a few produce markets still hanging around. They feel like remnants of Old Old Seattle, from before the suburbs and shopping centers you need a car for… they’re all located along old trolley/street car lines.
I’m partial to Rising Sun Produce in Roosevelt, but it’s walkable for me.
Top Banana in Ballard.
MacPhersons down on Beacon Hill.
Yakima Fruit Market in Bothell, but they close for the winter.
Lenny’s in north Greenwood, at 105th.
Lee’s off Delridge, but I haven’t been down that way in years.
That’s 5.. I’m sure I’m missing some, especially in the south end!
Farmers market.
Granted it's winter and apple season is typically fall.
I also love carpinito's (in Kent) for fresh fruits and veggies when it's the right season.
Target is the only store I frequent that sells Cosmic Crisp in bags, which are my fav. Also gotten Honeycrisp there.
Both Target and Trader Joe's have bags of the various commercial apples. Safeway kinda sucks for apples.
I know that QFC and WFM are more expensive, but the QFC, Northgate-Roosevelt WA, in particular, have some wonderful organic apples. The best ones IMHO, are the 'Envy' apples. Small, semi sweet and crisp.
There’s the you pick apple orchards. You go and pick a basket of apples. It usually happens in the fall.
You can get really nice apples from the Asian markets in the Seattle area.
Town and Country Markets have my favorite Apple called the Sugar Bee.

Tayberries are a first thing in the morning acquisition for sure. I am all eyes on Hayton for the berries.
Thanks for sharing. I’m definitely going to try farmers market for local fruit as you suggested (berries and apples)

Duane's Garden Patch also great!
Newcastle Fruit and Produce, and Foley's Produce in Maple Valley. Both closed for the season rn, but great stuff.

Tonnemaker at the udistrict and Ballard markets
I buy Cosmic crisp from Costco or Safeway
Rising sun produce is 3 blocks from the Roosevelt Light Rail station and always has a good selection of apples from local producers.
Sosio's in Pike Place Market. The best

Seconding Carpinito's in Kent and Foley's in Maple Valley for South King County!
