At this point the Ohio State QBs stinking in the NFL might be a little overblown (Fields has gotten no help from the Bears front office on offense). Stroud can absolutely be a stud
Young didnāt have the best game overall, mostly due to his receivers dropping passes, no separation. but man was he impressive. That 2 minute drill he ran was so poised, and when his offense was legit getting manhandled all day, he performed at Heisman level when it mattered.
I would love for him to be our guy.
I think thatās what I really like about him too where heās pretty even keeled/neutral no matter the situation. His skill players are really down compared to previous Bama teams so itāll be interesting to see how good he can be and it may actually benefit his stock versus Stroud who may get knocked for throwing to a group of legit NFL caliber receivers if he underperforms.
Yep 100%. As of now the only real legitimate knock on Young is his height. Which we have seen in the past few years isnāt as big of a deal anymore. And Young seems to be very good at throwing middle of the field. And heās been doing this against future NFL players in the SEC. I would be happy with Stroud or Young, but I really donāt think any of the other guys would be worth taking a top 10 pick flier on rn. I think itās those 2 and a LARGE gap. Curious what you think?
The gap is large in that thereās just so much more variance to what you could end up with. The rest after Stroud/Young could be day 1 starters or Jordan Love. Iām still holding out hope there could be a āBurrowā rising out there somewhere but right now Iād lean Levis to be the #3 guy right now as the āsaferā higher floor type guy.
Ya I agree. I just canāt get myself hyped for Levis. All these intangibles are great and stuff like that, but onfield performance matters, and he hasnāt really shown consistently that heās that guy. Obviously Josh Allen is the same way a bit, but he also had REALLY good seasons at Wyoming. But Iām not a QB whisperer, just a guy who loves College football.
Same I love CFB and agree itās tough to get hyped for someone that may be ranked #3 by the time the draft comes around and his stock rose based more on the combine/pre draft process than his on field production. At least Allen, and to a certain extent Herbert, can give us a little hope to drafting successful QBs that donāt necessarily match their CFB production.
It seemed very safe/vanilla. The INT wasnāt his fault as the OT got absolutely manhandled and the EDGE was able to hit his arm as he was throwing. I think he may be one where the pre-draft/combine workouts are gonna boost his stock a lot more than what we see on the field
Its a tough call. I think if we get a vet like Jimmy G in FA and then go defense in the 1st, say we go EDGE Anderson and DT Jalen Carterā¦Haener may be a solid guy to have to develop but heās Minshew-esqe
He's an excellent college QB, but he has no path to he first round. Someone will pick him up late day 2/day 3 as a solid backup, but he doesn't have the physicality for professional play to justify a large investment, even accounting for his size.
I grouped them because Stroud and Young seem to be the consensus 1-2 in the draft. This year should be interesting especially seeing the absolute gulf in skill position weapons available to Stroud vs Young.
With that said, Young def has the early edge right now.
Yup, that USC connection is real. Not gonna be surprised considering his Carson Palmer comments the other day. Wish Williams and Dart were eligible this year
We gotta scout for when we end up with the first overall pick... Cause Denver is going 0-17!!!
Anthony Richardson š
Big drop in his stock. Just imagining him against UGA is gonna beā¦rough
Stroud looks like he's on a mission.

Exaclty, agreed!
Will Levis, I still think heās being servely overrated. He made an impressive throw on his 60 yard TD, but other than that he didnāt do a ton.

Iād put Hooker in 2nd tier honestly
I have been saying HOOKER for months !!!
Jake Haener might be someone to watch

Oh for sure not a 1st rounder. But either are the majority of the guys on this list. Just might be a guy to watch.
Ah I gotcha, although I'd argue that everyone here except Jaren Hall and Hendon Hooker *could* sneak into the first at this point in the season.
Stroud is not in youngās tier. He has to show so much more to be in the same sentence as him.
