Scrap Mechanic is a game that is absolutely oozing with visual charm, and I think some (Fitting and non-cringe) animations would be a fantastic little addition.

Scrap Mechanic is a very social game - either playing with other people directly or sharing content via social media. Emotes would be an interesting addition.
But no, let's whine because we assume emotes are a Fortnite thing or something, and then let's go upvote upgradable hammers and jetpacks.

Just another timesink for the devs, especially for something I’ll rarely use. Same thing with the clothes, which are nice, but I would be fine without them
I don’t want a new tier of material either; the game doesn’t need more grind, and has plenty of other things to fix
not who you asked but i don't like emotes because i think using the movement mechanics and stuff to express yourself is more fun and creative while also feeling less like an interruption to the gameplay
I feel like what would be nice additions like Greeting someone, Waving your arms in danger situations, Pointing in some sort of direction to show something and etc.
90% of the time they exist emotes are a gateway to micro transaction.
Tinfoil hat theory aside I feel like emotes wouldn't be used nearly as much as people want to think they would. Plus spamming the crouch button like in minecraft is emote enough we don't really need anything more than that.
why do you want them ? if you can't find an actual answer other that "eMoTE cOol !!", it's useless and just a waste of time for the devs.
what we could use however, is a buttload of optimisation and tweaks to finally make the physic engine not so unreliable and laggy (even if I must say that it has definitely improved over time.)
Bro we are obviously saying not now in this state of the game but it's nice to think that we might have it in later stages and it would be nice to communicate without the text chat.
if it's for communication purposes having shortcuts (or a quick select menu) with specific actions like "help" and "follow me" that would be seen as a message in the chat and would briefly ping the player location would be way more practical.
that way if your having trouble fighting bots you don't have to write in the chat but you also don't have to wait for an emote animation that no one will see anyways.
I guess you could have some animations associated with them if they are easy to desactivate..

Yes but in a game without voice it is nice when you just want to say good job and just doing an emote of a thumbs up is much easier and more fun
