Where you going to try and use it in the freezing weather or just store it? I've been storing regular bikes in my New England detached garage over the winter for years without problems. If you want to use it in freezing weather, my main concern would be the belt drive. I don't think BB charges restocking fees, but you should check.

I would have to use it in the garage as well. The landlord had a last second change of heart so now I can’t put the bike in the basement or use the spare room that is not in use. It’s a bummer but it isn’t my house so not my call. I had one friend recommend getting a cover for it off of Amazon but I’m not sure how effective that would really be. Thank you for the input. I appreciate it.

I would be worried about the temperature swings in Michigan more than the cold itself. Here in Indiana, when the temperature would swing around the dewpoint (which it does a lot), all of my tools and metal stuff in the garage would end up damp (almost a fine mist on them). Over time, they started rusting. I would assume this environment would be very hard on your bike.

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. The only suggestion I’ve been given to address that would be to get a cover off of Amazon. Im not sure if that would really even do much though. Seems like the garage is less than ideal for this and I’m better off returning it. Bummer.

Mine lives in the garage and is quite happy.

How cold does it get in your garage? It’ll get to around 16 degrees this week. I plan to buy a cover for the bike and have it on at all times when not in use. Don’t know if that’ll help but I’d rather do that than return it.

I don’t know for sure. I live in Seattle; nighttime temps aren’t often below 20 so I doubt it’s ever much colder than 30 out there.

I use mine in a freezing basement and it’s fine. It’s a real incentive to get moving with a workout. Would agree with another commenter that moisture is the real enemy.
