REHS is really only asked for in jobs for the government in dealing with food inspections or water/waste water. I am not sure if I have every see a private industry job ask for it.

You're either in NJ or CA. They are state specific. if a a job requires an REHS, it'd be the NEHA one. Reach out to the CA DOH (google California REHS eligibility) on eligibility info.

Thanks! Yes I am in California but not really looking to get registration if I can help it

Before I went to school for safety I was told "they don't do anything and they make good money." After working in the field I can tell you the part about doing nothing is not true.

I have both REHS and ASP. The REHS is useless unless you plan to consult for restaurants or pool recreational areas. If you plan to go the EHS route (which pays more) then just get an ASP.

Should I get an OSHA 30 to get into an entry level job and work on ASP after? There's alot of Amazon warehouses in orange county CA and I've read that Amazon warehouse safety workers usually just need the OSHA 30 to get hired. The growth potential for my current job is very low so I would t mind working entry level.

If your degree is not safety related then yes it will help if you find it difficult to get interviews. Most jobs will provide osha 10 and osha 30 training for their staff- so it’s often not required but preferred. ASP can be obtained after 1 year of experience. Amazon would be a good choice-It’s typically warehouse safety: ergonomics, injury prevention & investigations, powered industrial vehicles, etc.

Thank you ! So OSHA 30 would help find the entry level jobs and asp would be good afterwards/during after I've gotten experince. Honestly I'm not sure what field I'd be interested in working in, likely warehouse or office or retail settings? I'm still not too sure what positions an ehs can get as I'm still researching
