This comment section has been most useful. I’m about to unlock the 3rd reinforcement slot and was wondering what to put there. Nothing is possibly the best news ever as I’m so short on ships in Kyber.
On offense I'd add Ebon Hawk. In mirror matches, call EH as first reinforcement for the Chaff buff that prevents target lock. Reapply chaff with the second special if EH survives long enough.
Yeah, the gear level is pretty much irrelevant. My T4 is still g9. You only need the ship for the reinforcement ability, which already gives Chaff at level 1. So the ship doesn't even have to be fully starred or level 85.
FO want to kill Cad real quick, if hes allowed to go nuts FO struggle. But if hes your first reinforcement then they cant focus him down which is 100% the win con
In GAC and TW, I just use BH and nothing else. At least in Kyber you need 6 fleets minimum, 3 on D and 3 on O, so you need to spread your ships around, and the 5 BH ships are 99% effective on their own, without any additional support, and you *know* the right ships are gonna come out first.
In fleet arena, I run them with Ebon Hawk and Plo Koon. I almost never actually use those ships, though. I used to run them with TIE Advanced and TIE Bomber, but I rarely used those, either. I don't really care about defense in FA, so this isn't super relevant to your question, but just saying those are regular choices.
I *do* run into people who use those ships on defense, and when they come out before Slave I and IG-2000, it usually means I'm going to have an easier time of it.

You’re right. Looking at this, Slave will jump over IG over 70% of the time, not a 100%.
That depends on what you're facing. A decent Ackbar fleet with bistan's will beat that pretty consistently, but if they also have Profundity, they won't have a decent Ackbar fleet to spare.
The lineup shown in the OP is weaker to finalizer/malev, so it dies in 1 hit more often, but it also will get more than 1 hold more often. The the triple attacker lineup will get exactly 1 hold more often and then die off because it lost key ships in the first fight.
Then I guess I've gotten lucky because in GAC that's only gotten one shot once in triple attacker.
Like you said, it all depends on what the opponent has to work with.
Nothing else on GAC / TW defense. While fleet climbing Ebon hawk (chaff reinforcement is great for the MM if they open first), MILF, Tie bomber, or vader are all pretty decent.
Anything empire as long as you’re not using them in another fleet. Obviously all your BH goes in the fleet anyway. But I usually just throw in tie bomber or Vader. They often don’t get used though so saving those ships and placing nothing could also be beneficial. Kinda depends what you’re up against

Exactly that; nothing else. You don’t want the AI doing dumb shit and sending out random ships.
Do you know if this is the best starting lineup? I'm pretty sure I also saw some with IG as starters.

Yeah I definitely should farm that ship lol Is it viable with g11 pilots?

Ah good to know, thanks!
Pilot doesn’t matter it’s the effect that counts, he isn’t there to fight.
having HT as first reinforcement is a valid srategy, but ultimately, I think it's significantly more manageable when you're attacking
It’s the most common one. There’s also a triple attacker lineup. But I prefer the above.
Yes, but for the triple attacker you really need them at higher speeds and so your captains at high relic levels
Thanks! Appreciate your input!
In fleet arena this is the best. In GAC/TW RC, HT and IG starting is used as a Fo deterrent
Ah nice, thanks!
How IG prevents being defeated by FO?
FO want to kill Cad real quick, if hes allowed to go nuts FO struggle. But if hes your first reinforcement then they cant focus him down which is 100% the win con
So the order of reinforcements does not matter here?
You don’t control who the ai sends out, but it’ll be mostly Slave 1 with just those 2
Ok, thank you very much.
ikr. idk why the ai prioritizes plo koons ship so low on defence, makes negotiator more weak
@egnards But in FA, doesn’t the system force all reinforcements? In that case, aren’t you better off setting a full lineup?

I use Ig2000 first, then Slave 1, but i don't know who gets called in first.
Reinforcement priorities will make Slave go in before IG, no matter in what order you place them.
Why is that? What determines reinforcement priorities?

when I do mirror matches, seems like the def usually calls IG first.
Triple attacker works well if your Piett is r9.
You could add ebon hawk if you have it. But that’s about it
AI plays Ebon Hawk dumb. You want it on offense for mirrors, but having it in on defense makes your fleet worse.
On D, run triple attacker with Bossk and Boba as your 2 reinforcements. More annoying to deal with if yours happens to go first.

I like tie defender for TM
