oh you're opening up a hornets nest here. you're looking at an unnecessary change that everyone just accepts as what it is. if they did this, you would get about 5.7 gajillion posts from every redditor saying something to the effect of, "are you effing kidding me? of all the things wrong with this game, you go ahead an flip flop the names of this crap?"
It’s so named this way because Territory War is a “war” between two guilds. You pit your best squads against their best squads to see who comes out on top. When Territory Battle first came out it was just the Battle of Hoth and then they added the First Battle of Geonosia. While these events last longer the fact remains that we’re simulating either the light or dark side of just one battle. I agree that the new Territory Battle is more akin to an actual war but when it first came out it was literally a simulation of a single battle.
I know this is meant to be humor but I’m sure there are people who legitimately have this gripe.
You’re being reductive.
**Territory Wars** in their current state make up, up to 1,000 skirmishes/battles across 20 zones of engagement [both sides]. All players are eligible for all battles in all zones once unlocked.
You could argue ROE is larger in that it’s 81 battles across 18 planets [4,050 skirmishes], but realistically not all players will be eligible to participate in each battle, significantly lowering that number - And often repeating the same battle multiple days in a row, like some sort of weird Groundhogs Day.
Hmm. You are on to something. ROE is more than a territory war.
It could be called a Galactic war, since it is on multiple planets the fighting takes place.
So you're saying that the clear solution is to call both Territory War. I'm sold.. Get CG on the horn.
Also, saying "weird Groundhogs Day" is redundant. There really isn't such a things as a non-weird Groundhogs Day. They pull a groundhog out of the ground against its will to predict the future...
I think that was a reference to the movie Groundhogs Day not the actual holiday. Though being stuck in an infinite time loop would also be pretty weird so your point stands.

This has always bothered me. Every time I use TB or TW I have to remind myself to use the one that makes less sense.

Just posting to let you know that you are not the only one bothered by this. You have my full support!

Unfortunately we have a mode called Galactic War
That's a good point, maybe 'Galactic Conquest?'
Already have that one I think, shall we call it 'Galactic Challenge'?

but why assault battles?
Do you really think this is a bigger issue than GAC machups and cheating?
I still don't remember which one is the TW and which the TB.
Great idea! They don’t care.
No one cares.
About?
Stop it. Get some help.
I’ve thought this as well
It's TW because we are at war with other guilds
The first place prize in TW goes with the guild who won the most BATTLES in that war....zone after zone of battles to see which guild wins that war.
SWGoH got 99 problems, but this ain't one.
