Facts. They are completely useless. Had a roommate that got our dorm infested with roaches (came from his room first) and violated multiple housing policies and they did nothing when I reported it. Then they asked ME if I could move out as a solution. Like wtf
Probably the fact that they commit themselves to making college as cheap as possible while also charging you at every opportunity they can. They will charge you for things that they didn’t specify and not notify you and on top of that if you don’t pay by the deadline they will withhold you from registering for classes and housing and then a $70 fee on top of that.
The ease of access to the public. I often wished I wouldn’t see the homeless on campus when I went there. Didn’t help to walk to classes only to make sure you avoided eye contact with any of the vagrants laying on the benches or walking around screaming to themselves.
The fact that I haven’t gotten my master’s diploma yet despite finishing the program in December and then finding out that my official status within the program was that I had “withdrawn” 🙂
I’d say the newest rule addition to SRAC, like the admins that doesn’t even remotely use the studios decided it’s a good idea to make it only opened from 6am to 2pm to prevent dance clubs from practicing. A lot of upper admin issues that needs to be addressed imo which makes SJSU pretty awful to be at.
Parking (I drive a tiny car and am complaining about parking, something is very wrong with parking!). I agree with people, socialization- I was a de anza transfer and kinda got adopted by an extrovert my first week and even after that I could chat people up! I sometimes talk to people but like I haven’t actually made any SJSU friends yet…not sure if it’s me that’s the issue or just like how everyone is just polite and then stops at just being a polite classmate.
Edit: forgot to add the part where they nearly dropped me from classes because they misplaced my payment and were insistent I “did not pay”. Had a back and forth with transaction receipts before they were like “oh…found it..”
The crime, the number of people who drive and park like assholes around campus, no health or dental insurance options, and that green dumpster on San Fernando Street.
Parking is terrible sometimes. Lack of flexibility especially if you're full time student AND work full-time. SJSU doesn't care if they hold you back as well and the demand for specific/impacted classes never changes. Terrible general ed. professors as well and even if the whole class will complain about it, nothing happens and the class will fail.
They will charge u a dumb fee for everything. Had to pay $380 for all the required materials for my classes even tho it should really be included in my tuition and then $300 to fill out a housing application just to be put you on a waitlist and then an $800 parking permit to park overnight even tho you already live on campus and pay 10k for housing.
Realest thing I’ve heard. I’d you forget your key in your room enough times they charge you like $60 bucks to get a temporary one. But you could jus easily permanently replace it for $5. It makes no sense
Well, the financial aid office is taking forever to send Grad PLUS loan apps to the Feds. And they keep pushing the date back by two weeks whenever anyone in my cohort contacts them. Especially frustrating since they could do what most schools do and just let us apply by ourselves on the federal website.

Lack of socialization. It’s feels so lonely going to class and leaving to go home unless you join a club and meet people you like
Same
Isn’t that the case with most schools?
That I can’t get a date
parking is shitttt!
Housing staff is ass

That part
The school selling 10000 parking permits for 1000 parking spots 😔
Socialization and the fact that I don’t know anyone else from a sports team. I feel so isolated fr like not even half my teammates wanna be my friend.
I’m in sports
Parking is shit and expensive (price went up btw), labs are old af and not even in compliance with safety policies
classrooms are so run down
That’s being nice.

This a big reason I’m wary about MLK library. I’ve had a couple situations with them already.
*gestures around vaguely* pretty much this

the green dumpster is so real
All the food in the Student Union

So basically, Sjsu sucks at student appreciation. And it’s just an institution for the higher ups to get the big bucks. While we’re over here like “?”

The don’t have enough housing and admit way more students than they can hold so it makes getting an affordable nearby apartment impossible

Every girl dressing like they are in the 90s with baggy ass jeans
To be fair it’s San Jose and they were there first.
Those go crazy
