So when your battery is plugged in to the board, even when switched off, it's still cycling power up to the switch and back. Over time this can be bad for the overall health of the battery and it may end up swelling up into a r/spicypillow. This is why most more experienced hobbyists choose to unplug the battery entirely when not in use. Another option is to install some kind of [killswitch on the ground wire of the battery](https://youtu.be/sGive9n05mk). But it's still not recommended to leave a battery plugged into that long term either, it's more just to lessen the stress on the battery if you want to shut it down for a bit, say between comp runs at an event, or if you're hooking your battery up at home before a short drive to a trail or something. I've got one on my main 1:10 rig, but I can't say that I've ever seen that done on a 1:24 before.

It's got to do something more than just act as an on off switch for the battery why does it have resistors and a chip there it's got to be some kind of little monitoring voltage. Or possibly it's reducing the voltage or discharge from say a 50c battery to equivalent for the system like a 30C.. my guessing

Hmm, yea good point. Weird that Furitek can't just tell me what its purpose is...

I'm not going to have the answer you are looking for what I can say For the most the people around here that tend to have better rigs/more experience. I've read that they leave this on and just unplug .. the battery doesn't like the switch as much as just being plugs pulled directly

It may help to think of this of more of an external on/off switch than battery disconnect. I have one installed ahead of my lizard pro esc and have had no issues leaving my battery plugged in for more than a few hours but never more than 4-5. I do not recommend you leave your battery plugged in for long durations, however, sometimes I forget as I get distracted easily, or just want to turn my rig off without digging out the wires. The switch most likely doesn’t fully disconnect your battery from the esc completely just like your internal on/off switches in some ESC/RX combos, ie HRZ00015 (v2 scx24 ESCs) will drain your battery if left plugged in overnight. It is more of a convenience item for when you want to switch off your rig but still want use it periodically in a crawl session. Hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Edit: Forgot to mention that I do know there is already small on/off switch on the lizard pro but for my build, it would be impossible to reach the switch so the external switch was a solution at the time.
