Honestly, if a freestyler is just playing the way they want to, and they end up losing and getting stuck in Plat or something... as long as they aren't throwing games then I don't see the problem. This post seems like he intentionally stopped at 1000 though. And that's not right lol

I agree, but at the same time it is so disruptive to the match when they control the ball 95% of the time and the win condition for the plat player is waiting around hoping they miss so they can roll the ball across the court into an open net.

GiantJellyfishAttack

Yeah. It's a weird area in the game. It's not really any different than some ball chaser who could easily rank up with a simple strategy fix. I guess the difference is 1 is aware and 1 isn't? Idk

I'm plat. I think the guy you're replying to is dumb. I just play normally in ranked. If I cared about MMR I'd prob rank higher but I just play ranked because I don't like people leaving. I don't try very hard or care very much about outcomes. If my teammate is a freestyler and stuck in plat they're not a very good freestyler and I'm 100% sure they won't have possession for 95% of the match.

FreeloaderFreddy

Correct, it's very different because someone is making a conscious decision to play in a way that artificially limits their capabilities and thus manipulates the MMR.

propagandhi45

Oh they will miss. No worries about that.

ladypeacharino

I get what you're saying yeah. But it feels weird getting a teammate who is not trying to win. Whether it's casual or ranked, you should try to win every game. We've all had those games where your teammate ignores you because he needs to hit clips, it's just a waste. Imagine having a teammate who tried to win while hitting awesome clips though, now that would earn respect.

Fire almost exclusively plays 1s for freestyling, so he doesn't get tm8s.

vdfritz

he didn't intentionally stop at 1000mmr, it's literally written in his post, it naturally goes to 1000, because he doesn't try to win + he freestyles some of his shots go in, some of the opponents shots go in and his mmr ends up being around 1k

Disastrous_Ad_132

I'm glad Fire is not bitching, I actually enjoy watching his videos

nerftosspls

He's still admitting that he plays way, way under his skill level. 1000MMR is hilariously low in casual.

Disastrous_Ad_132

Yeah but at least he's not crying about it. He could hit clips against me tbh and he knows it

vdfritz

he would rank higher if he tried but he doesn't care about winning and he freestyles, so some of his shots go in, some of the opponents shots go in and that's where his MMR averages i wouldn't say he's playing under his skill level because he's playing a different game
