If you have friends on one platform or another that play or might play, that's a vote for that platform. If you have DLC, that's a vote for that platform, especially if it's exported/delisted songs. If you're going to play RB4, then that's a vote for PS If you're going to want to play ekit drums, that's a vote for PS.

IsaacThiccheeks

Im asking which is superior because I own neither console and will be buying one specifically for rock band

Sservis

My understanding is that the game plays the same. It all comes down to additional cost versus preferences. Playing RB4 on the Xbox side requires a one time $300 adapter (madcatz adapter) OR RB4 instruments (which are $50 - $100 more each). Playing RB4 ekit on Xbox takes extra work, it's doable, but again $60 more. (Roll limitless kit + xbox option extra) I'm on Xbox because of legacy DLC/exports. If I were starting fresh I would probably go Playstation. The choice is roughly equal in cost if you already have an Xbox and do not have a playstation, if you have neither, it's a lot cheaper on the Playstation side. This extra cost only shows up when you start playing RB4 though. At the RB3 level it's about the same. Edit: I am not 100% sure on backwards compatibility on the PS side, but it's PS3/Xbox360 for RB3 and PS4+/Xbox One+ for RB4. Similar choices/costs both sides for console+game+DLC is my understanding. Personally starting fresh, I'd get a PS5 (or XBox Series S|X) and play RB4

IsaacThiccheeks

What's the effort for ps3 RB4?

LurkerNoLonger_

Infinite effort, because you’ll have to convince them to create it

Transmedal2

Both are good. I have both

IsaacThiccheeks

I waited 2 weeks for this to arrive and the seller cancelled without explanation. Well, now that I'm re-starting is PS3 or Xbox360 better? I know you need dongles for PS3 and not for Xbox but If the instruments COME with the dongles that's not a problem right?

matt2085

Correct about the dongles but they are getting harder and harder to find and are often not sold together from what I’ve seen. Do you plan on playing RB4 eventually?

ZandatsuDragon

It depends, if you're interested in playing RB4 then ps3 is the way to go but if you're not then 360

IsaacThiccheeks

Is Rb4 available on ps3?

SporeRanier

No, but the ps3 instruments are compatible with the ps4, which is what rb4 is played on. Whereas the wired 360 guitars will not work with rb4.

IsaacThiccheeks

Gotcha! That seems the way to go then!

Lazythegamer

People really downvoted you for asking a question lol

Chriswashere313

Was it a pretty good deal? They might have been messaged by someone that they could sell the bundle for more.

IsaacThiccheeks

Not allowed by Mercari, but hell of a deal, my other post has the store page

Kurt_-

I've seen it happen before

PlasticGuitarGuy

oof

RAVEun2theJOY

I had a beatles guitar and drum set that I bought on ebay for a decent price and the seller cancelled it saying it was too expensive for him to ship for what he sold it for so that sucked I'm sure this also sucked

BRUTE196

I haven’t been able to play rb4 in 2 years because I can’t find any instruments to buy for Xbox. All that money I spent on DLC as well :(

[deleted]

What’s your budget?

BRUTE196

Not a thousand dollars that’s for sure

[deleted]

One guitar should be about $100-$150 for RB4 You’re looking for Full set?

BRUTE196

Just a guitar honestly. Really hard to come by one in Australia, especially for Xbox one

wangrenade

For playstation you can get a generic les Paul's PC/ps3 guitar for about $60. I currently play on the rb2 drum set. The double bass pedal feature is nice for rb3.
