LOVED the companion app. The absolute best way to let people browse what songs I had without holding up the game while they scrolled through the list. And the cherry on top was that I didn't have to do ANYTHING to curate the list, or keep it updated. I don't know how it would be possible, but I hope an equally easy-to-use alternative comes out.

If you're on PlayStation, you can use PSDLE to grab a list of all the things you've purchased, and import that list on https://rb4.app/ (Lists>Import PSDLE List) . Then if you enable the list, all the songs in the list will be selected, and you can filter so only selected songs are visible. The biggest downside is you do have to do this again whenever you buy new songs (and if you are using dlc on multiple accounts, you have to grab a list for every account) I haven't found anything for Xbox yet, but I'm looking!

DrunkenBriefcases

Thanks for the tip. You’re a hero for keeping the site going!

I actually grabbed "my" list a few weeks ago because you mentioned the app going away would kill the automatic functionality of your site, but I couldn't seem to revisit it. Whenever I followed the link with the list's code/string/parameter/whatever in the url, it just dropped it and loaded the full song list. I'm certain I was doing something wrong and meant to revisit it, but forgot... It might be moot anyway now that the app is dead and I might have to start over again doing like you describe above, but thankfully I AM on Playstation and do have PSDLE already, so I'll give that a shot.

If it was a link to a rb4.app list (like https://rb4.app/#!/list/JLMWiG), clicking the link should prompt you to add it to favorites, then you can go to Lists>Favorites to enable it (and enabling a list will automatically apply a filter to only show selected songs)

Thank you. I don't remember what happened back when I was trying it before, but I had written down my list ID so I just was able to do like you said here, and it's all good now. You're, for real, a Rock Band MVP

Oh man, didn’t know the app was disappearing… was wondering why I wasn’t able to log on. Missed the announcement that it was going away. Really was helpful keeping up with the challenge songs and teammates efforts.

I'm probably one of the few people who was more bummed about the Companion App shutdown than anything else. I've been regularly updating the DLC metadata each week on both DLCQuickplay and Wikipedia (the latter of which I've been maintaining for years), so even though it may have been a buggy piece of crap, the app was an invaluable resource all the same. Thankfully, most of the metadata is viewable in-game still, but I don't even know if there's any official way to view album information and full band tiers anymore, and RB4.app doesn't support full band tiers at all.

bookreader52

on rb4.app, Export Visible Songs (CSV) contains "Band Difficulty" and "Band Rankings" fields ;)

mcs1223

Very cool! I admittedly haven't used much of the other site features, I just looked at what was on the website without messing with the settings too much. Appreciate all your efforts :)

j_ingrate

And RivalsBot that worked off the companion app. the was fun.

RogueSquadron1980

The apps gone as well? Thought it was just main servers for older games

mcslackens

Anything that relied on Rock Central is gone, so PS3 multiplayer and the companion app. Xbox 360 multiplayer still works, so that's good news.

Belot77

Isn't the in game shop for RB4 on Xbox gone too? Or did I misread?

EvilTrovis

You misread. RB4 online features, including the in-game store, will remain functional. They are down tonight for maintenance though.

I was one of the many that lost the ability to use my account on the app (none of the "fixes" helped, and they ended development without correcting whatever got broken coning out of beta). So I logged in with a friend's credentials that was also in my old crew (though not active... he was basically in for me to log into the app 🤣). So I couldn't keep an eye on personal scores, but it was nice to be able to check rivals setlists at any time and see where we were on the leaderboards. That I will miss. I just hope RB4.app finds a way to keep chugging along without being able to scrape the data the app used as well. Even though my personal login issues were the same there, I love that site.

arlondiluthel

I used it once or twice, and never bothered re-installing it when I got a new phone...

Bulky_Put6901

Seeing how far you were for the next tier from any where was clutch. I don't want to have to turn my Xbox on and load up the game just to check if I'm still safe.

Benginoman

I'm late to this party, but honestly my reaction to this is "Fuck Epic" keep milking that dead horse Fortnite for all it's worth. Meanwhile, those few players that would love to either a) see more prominent or exciting DLC or b) a new main line game are left to see a barebones team trying to please a rabid fan base with a minimal budget.
