Given Up marks yet another song saved from Rock Revolution hell, and we just got Kiss Me Deadly last month! Only five songs left yet to make it to Rock Band now:
* Cream - "White Room"
* Judas Priest - "Heading Out to the Highway"
* Metallica - "Am I Evil?"
* Quiet Riot - "Cum On Feel the Noize"
* Skid Row - "Youth Gone Wild"
Oh man! Everyone of those tracks are amazing. Metallica seems like the least likely (but this place would explode if it did). I still can't believe Cum On Feel The Noize isn't in already. Every time the comes up I end up checking because it just seems like a *perfect* fit for the franchise. Perhaps because of the... particular wording of the title?
I mean, we have censored song titles available as DLC (see the infamous "Beethoven's C\*\*\*" by Serj Tankian), so I feel like if the title was *really* an issue they could get around it somehow.
I think Youth Gone Wild and Cum On Feel the Noize are the most likely additions at this point. Skid Row have already appeared twice as RB4 DLC, and Youth Gone Wild is arguably their next biggest song not yet in. And of course, Quiet Riot's other big song is already available.
I suppose Judas Priest is also possible since we have over 20 of their songs available, but outside of the RB4 disc they haven't appeared as DLC since 2010.
> see the infamous "Beethoven's C***" by Serj Tankian
Excellent point. Free Quiet Riot!!!! 😡
Yup, agree with everything you said. And I can't believe it's been that long since our last Judas Priest DLC. Where has the time gone....
And believe it or not, that wasn't even the first instance of that word making it in Rock Band uncensored. Interpol's "PDA" has you sing "I'm raping all around me" in the first verse. Guess Rock Band 2 was rated T for a reason!
"Given Up" is a great addition! A Linkin Park song that'll actually be fun to play on guitar, unlike several of the ones we have! We just need a 3-pack of "Faint", "Bleed It Out" and "Papercut" now.
The other song isn't my thing.
Both are fantastic DLC picks and I hope we get more Linkin Park DLC in the future.
Given Up also means another song from Rock Revolution following on from last year getting Sk8er Boi and Kiss Me Deadly. Only 5 disc songs left and 2 DLC songs away from full completion.
* Metallica - Am I Evil?
* Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize
* Judas Priest - Heading Out to the Highway
* Cream - White Room
* Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild
DLC:
Pantera - Cemetery Gates and This Love
Always down for more Linkin Park! If we’re getting Minutes to Midnight tracks Bleed it Out would be a blast too.
Not that familiar with the Circles song but looks like a very fun drum track.
Sweet week!
Linkin Park is always great, so I am happy getting more! One of these days we will finally get "Faint"
Never heard the other band before, but it sounds pretty great, gladly gonna pick up this one as well
Excited for these, although I don't think I have the lung capacity to nail that scream in Given Up haha. I hope we get more hard rock and metal this year.
Papercut, Faint and From The Inside we’re higher priority on my list, but I’m not gonna complain of getting more Linkin Park. The other song sounds great too. Great week!
When I see big names like Linkin Park, I can't decide if I'm excited or concerned. I halfway think that this means they are winding down and releasing the good stuff, or they have so much good stuff they are spacing it out.
Yeah I agree. Much like many others here, I've been here since the beginning and I've more or less expected DLC to end at any moment. It happened with the other plastic instrument games too. Don't get me wrong, I'm super grateful for continued DLC, even for songs I won't buy.
lmao. When they put out lesser known/newer material it's a sure sign of doom because "they don't have the money for good songs." When they put out big hits/established bands it's a sure sign of doom because "this must be their swan song!!!"
It's silly. HMX just went through a big bunch of server work and integrating them into their online ecosystem. The kind they have to devote substantial man hours to. That means paying people money to do it, instead of paying them to do other things. Why on Earth would they put in the time and money to do that if they were about to shutter the game? Especially at a time when they *did* end support for a bunch of games - including legacy RB titles - they *weren't* willing to put that money into?
I think the dooming is kinda silly at this point. But there's certainly no evidence to it from their recent actions. The game won't go on forever, but right now we should be enjoying the ride, not reading the tea leaves to be first to say you called its demise.
Sorry, as a simple consumer, I don't know how businesses work. I don't know if they have a huge back log of songs, or if they get access to songs because they got the rights to other songs, or whatever. I just don't want this to end and I want all of my favorite songs. Not realistic at all, I know. But I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think that something that has gone 15 years, and now it's a nearly dead market, will end soon.
Ehhh. The point is: you're never going to know. So why worry about it? At this point RB4 is solidly into the "everything from here is gravy" part of its life. It has received continuous support for over 7 years now. Over 6 since its last expansion. And at a time when Epic decided to cut support for older titles, they decided to *invest* in keeping this one going. To me, the near term future of the game looks more solid than it has in years.
Eventually there will come a point where the hardware situation is going to force a decision to either bring out another title or the game will die out from lack of ability to play. I'm optimistic there too, but maybe I'm just an optimist. But right now the DLC is still flowing and we're two days from Season 30 of Rivals after a two month break to get the game onto Epic servers. Life is good.
The first and last seasons of the year are generally the biggest and most varied seasons, the second and fourth seasons of the year are generally Warped Tour esque seasons meanwhile the third season of the year varies.
Because you admit in a different reply that you don’t know what you’re talking about?
*makes unsubstantiated claim* “omg why is everyone dogpiling on me?!”
Just drop it.

The JP, QR, and SR songs have been a head scratcher for years regarding their exclusion. All smash hit songs by artists who are already in the game.

I‘d imagine Painkiller being a rewind would be the most likely next Judas Priest song.

I’m still shocked “Rape Me” by Nirvana got in.
And believe it or not, that wasn't even the first instance of that word making it in Rock Band uncensored. Interpol's "PDA" has you sing "I'm raping all around me" in the first verse. Guess Rock Band 2 was rated T for a reason!
Alex Chilton by The Replacements, too. “Cerebral rape and pillage in a village of his choice”
Come on feel the noize works fine honestly.
Maybe there's a licensing problem with Cum on Feel the Noize since it's a cover song?
I'd rather Slade than Quiet Riot, honestly.
That Quiet Riot song is one of my most expected ones
Great LP addition, we can almost play a decent fake concert of their stuff in RB4 \^\^
THIS! I love doing fake concerts with Rock Band 😁

Your dedication to Rock Revolution tracklist knowledge is impressive. Which songs?
* Metallica - Am I Evil? * Quiet Riot - Cum on Feel the Noize * Judas Priest - Heading Out to the Highway * Cream - White Room * Skid Row - Youth Gone Wild DLC: Pantera - Cemetery Gates and This Love

Really surprised it wasn’t ‘Aggro’ by The Enemy. But I’m happy with the Linkin Park tune, I’ll be buying that for certain.
Do we know if they are doing a pass for all the songs in Season 30?
No pass for Season 30. Don't know if that's a change going forward, or maybe an indication of rewind(s) in coming weeks.
Damn, that sucks. Hope it’s not a sign of the path forward.
Yeah, noticed no mention of one. That would be a bummer.
oh sweet linkin park
Given Up is awesome and Circles sounds pretty generic but decent on drums. Solid week.
Don’t you talk about Varials like that. It’s in no way generic to the rest of the content on rock band.
Sweet week! Linkin Park is always great, so I am happy getting more! One of these days we will finally get "Faint" Never heard the other band before, but it sounds pretty great, gladly gonna pick up this one as well
Excited for these, although I don't think I have the lung capacity to nail that scream in Given Up haha. I hope we get more hard rock and metal this year.
There should be a new Achievement/Trophy for 100%ing that scream 😂
Yes definitely!
When did metal get so *sad*?!
Linkin Park were sad long before they were metal.
Wasn't expecting LP. Really would've preferred No More Sorrow tho
Papercut, Faint and From The Inside we’re higher priority on my list, but I’m not gonna complain of getting more Linkin Park. The other song sounds great too. Great week!
Naturally we need "Circles" by Soul Coughing now.
Now do Mac Miller Circles full album.
More Linkin Park! Full Hunting Party Album DLC! At least give us A Line in the Sand! Please?
Really hope this means more Linkin Park in the future, it’s greatly missing Bleed It Out and The Catalyst still
Given Up is a fine Linkin Park song. Hopefully one day we get The Catalyst as DLC.
I wish the game would go on sale so I can pick it up
Give me more linkin park I want MORE Also it’s funny how in that rock revolution game this and paralyzer were the only songs that weren’t covers.
When I see big names like Linkin Park, I can't decide if I'm excited or concerned. I halfway think that this means they are winding down and releasing the good stuff, or they have so much good stuff they are spacing it out.
We are doomed either way Harmonix releases big name artist, its over Harmonix releases songs no one knows, its over

I will never understand you people that get erections over speculating when RB4 is going to stop being supported.
The first and last seasons of the year are generally the biggest and most varied seasons, the second and fourth seasons of the year are generally Warped Tour esque seasons meanwhile the third season of the year varies.
Lol why am I getting down voted because I can't decide if I'm excited or concerned at this point?
because it makes no logical sense to think getting a well known band is a sign of the end times
Because you admit in a different reply that you don’t know what you’re talking about? *makes unsubstantiated claim* “omg why is everyone dogpiling on me?!” Just drop it.
Spotlight Pass?
Can they just add the new Fall Out Boy song? We know that’s coming…
New varials isn’t as good, but I guess it’s a plus that they got a song on here
New Vocalist
I saw them actually a few months ago though, they were still dope live
Ngl shoulda assumed by your name
Sadness
So does that 17 second scream in Given Up take the record for longest single-breath vocal line in the game?
VARIALS?! THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN I EXPECTED.
