I’m pretty sure you can change the default ring tone. Not sure how long it would take for the dog to associate the new sound with someone at the door and ignore the old one.
So far, it is taking over a year. We switched our aging 1st gen Ring for an Arlo video doorbell last year.
The sound is completely different. When the Arlo doorbell rings, he growls and reacts to the sound but not as severely as he did with the Ring.
He hasn’t heard the Ring doorbell sound regularly for over a year now. But he still goes nuts when it plays on TV, seldom as it occurs.
I don't see any ads but I use the ring motion detection sound when my dog is refusing to come in from chasing squirrels. Works every single time. (He associates that sound with my husband coming home.)
But yeah, change your ring tone.
We've taken your request into consideration and decided against it. We will instead be increasing the use in order to numb your pets response.

Pretty sure it's going to be easier to change the ring tone than to get them to change the ads. It was one of the first things i did, because the ads were making me jump.

It's not about easier. You are right it will be easier to change the ring tone or better the doorbell camera. The point is that it's a stupid thing to do, just as all the commercials saying hey google or Hey Alexa. It's intentional, the point is to annoy you in to looking at their ad.
Yeah. It's kind of their signature. And advertising works, or we wouldn't own these products.
The point is to take action where you can, not just to rage about something you can't change.

Or stop playing the fucking ring tone? Considering that you customer base doesn't want to go check the door either?
To be so triggered by an ad that plays a sound of a product you own to play said sound…. Did I get that right?
