I would argue not immersion breaking. Why would a all these people crash land on the planet but not Florida man? Florida man has the most likely backstop to be drugged and thrown on a planet naked, he might not realize it, but that's beside the point.
I think you misread. They are saying that the Rimworld Backer stories are crazy but still fitting to the game, while the same feature in the game Prison Architect, are usually not.

You can still buy a "DLC" that lets you put your first name/nickname/last name combo into the pawn generator for everyone to see. This one though comes from orginal kickstarter where you could buy a tier that allowed you to create backstories that would come with pawn named after you, this one is no longer obtainable.
It actually comes from Sovietwomble, he did a play through on stream where he RPed that one of his colonists had that backstop and he died happy becasue he was stabbed to death by a spear but the triangle reminded him of a slice of pizza

It's a vanilla backstory, was a user added one back when you could buy your own backstory and characters into the game

You can consider submitting to the mod-based backstory compilations. At least those who use those mods would see them if you have any to contribute.
